The reason I like BTS is because they do not stagnate, stick to one lane be that one trick pony. I love all their different sounds and the way the mix genres. I expect growth in an artist and I see it. I see their different style's of music going through their disography sometimes one genre is more in your face in one song and then in another album it's there again but in a slightly different way, it's never boring same ole same ole. It's either completely new or its a mix of things they've used before or it's old things with a fresh lick of paint eg a slightly difference flavour. It's like baking and coming up with a new twist on a cake recipe or developing a completely new cake never tried before.

This woman is awesome. I get tired of hearing that statement also. I may be an oddity but I enjoy every era of BTSs music. One thing I particularly like is that they do change their sound. This is one thing I find missing in Kpop in general, there is no variety. Every single group sounds just alike and everyone in the group sounds just a like, there is no variation. They are either loud and noisy or just plain boring. BTS is so far from that because they put out what they like without fear and you will not be able to put them in a box and say this is their sound because THEY DO IT ALL with class.

Me too. I love that they have a diverse sound. I'm not going to want to listen to the same music when working out vs enjoying a relaxing sundown. Finding an artist that can do both is stellar.

I am a rap fan and I can admit that what got me into them was their rap songs. I was specifically introduced to them during their Mic Drop era and it's definitely one of my favorites still because as she said, it was when I found them. I do have a soft spot and am hyped more for their rap songs but as a music lover in general, I consume so many different genres from their discography with happiness. Of course there are some songs, some eras that are not my thing as much but knowing how versatile BTS are, I never had the thought "oh I miss the old BTS". Although I cannot lie and say I never thought about it with many other artists I love, or as you guys said even with music from different decades.

I have an unpopular opinion that so many people disagree with! I've always said that artists who stick to one sound and never let go aren't true artists. they aren't here to enjoy music or try different genres, they're only here to make certain group of people stay and support them and buy their music. music is only a business to them that's why they're scared to change their sound.
True artist in my eyes have always been someone who tries different genres and has a discography full of different sounds to attract different people. hip hop community, rap community, pop community and etc. that's exactly what BTS is doing and I love and respect that so much. They're true artists.

Yes, exactly! With every album you hear something new, but if you listen carefully there is an ELEMENT (not truly a sound, per se) that remains familiar/identifiable. I am just now reminded of baby photo challenges (where you try to match adults to their baby photos) and how some people, despite radical style changes throughout the years, are always so identifiable. Or how some families put such a strong stamp on everyone through generations that thousands of miles away and fifty years later a stranger can ask "Are you so-and-so's brother?" In that same way, BTS albums are different enough that you see growth, maturity, questioning and exploration while still seeing the core of who they were before and have always been. Perhaps because BTS, at its core, is a group of passionate artists, determined to be authentic to themselves, that respects each other enough to try each other's new ideas and work collaboratively to express themselves. Still the same people, with the same core values, but with new experiences to share. Just a thought.

@@WonderingWildWanderingRose that's so true! one thing about BTS is they never forget their roots and never forget where they came from. That's one of the many reasons to their incredible success. many people think they changed their sound, but they never did. they never had to change their sound to be successful.

Jimin's Face would be the worst example of an album having the same sound lol, Every single song on that album is literally from a different genre, man gave rnb/pop/ Synth pop/ hip-hop/ ballad/80s/ dream pop and more. It's insane how such a small album had so much variety and substance while still being extremely personal to the artist.

When artists have their own sound or develop a distintic signature is good but when they stuck with the sound (especially in the production and structure) for a long time just bc a song like that did well in the past, eventually that sound of theirs will end up being boring for many people. That's why a lot of artists have lost their aidience as well.
It happened to me for example with Blackpink. I was a fan of their songs at the beginning but through the years I started to feel most of their songs sound basically the same and even they include the same elements in the bridge and stuff. The thing is that I started to expect something new bc they have a comeback like every 2 years lol but it was all the same. Through the years I felt that I didn't like their music anymore + even the lyrics were quiet the same in therms of topic, so I decided to be honest with myself and I stop calling myself a fan. I was like "ok, maybe their music isn't for me or maybe it was me who changed and I started to care more about lyrics and the artists being really involved in their art and having great persomances" idk... Of cousrse I still like some fun songs, not everything has to be deep but I feel that BTS just keep raising the bars really high for me lmao
Anyways, I've been an army for 8 years and I've never been tired of listening to their songs, they have a huge discography as well. What surprises me the most is the fact that BTS do many generes and they keep releasing a lot of music constantly and yet they manage to pull it off so well every time. IT'S CRAZY.
I still can't tell what is the "BTS sound", maybe all those characteristics that I said that care the most now + their voices and the synergy is what makes them special and unique without the necessity of having an specific sound. I think it's so beautiful the fact their discography reflects so well all those phases that BTS have gone through in life. 💜

What Bts are doing looks easy for some people but it's extremely difficult
Like bts is telling people to pick and choose what they like as bpracity mentioned but even the ones you will not like you can't say "oh it's poorly done " or " oh this is not high quality " i have some songs that i don't like as much 25:43 but these songs are still high quality

Many people who use that excuse were never real fans of BTS they never understood them. Also it's a lot of kpoppies who except the same ole same ole, the rinse and repeat. Also there's the group of 'pretend' fans who are out and out haters who also use the 'I miss the real/old BTS' to try to bring BTS down.

Yes and no sometime's we miss things and until someone else points out oh did you notice this song has in this part a feel very similar to (insert name of other song) now you might have listen to both songs before but never noticed but once someone has said the you go back and hear them both one after another and you think 'oh yes why didn't I notice that'. Other times its very clear that there's something similar but not too similar that's it's the same ole same ole. other times' songs are completely different in every aspect.

This makes me think of dudes making channels and saying stuff like “I’m not feelin new bts, I thought they used to rap” but will only watch their biggest pop English hits since they’re trending and surely they’re going off of what they see other channels react to for the views. Dude, just say you don’t care to find more of their music and have no idea what you’re talking about…. 😂 they do everything every era, and obviously people aren’t gonna understand that if they’re not listening to them more or paying attention to their projects.
