Dude, don’t give some random equation so much credit. Your taste is what ultimately brought this music to you. All it’s doing is riding off of what Spotify has perfected for years. That is, recommending you (the user) other artist or songs that have a very similar “vibe” as all the stuff you gravitate towards anyway. So yeah after putting it like that I guess I’ll get down and worship the almighty Al Gore Rhythm 🙌🏼
Grunge comes from the light at the end of the tunnel. One must know death to feel life. :p XD kidding. Real music is timeless; to sing it again, is to bring the past forward again.
Wow !!! This is not an easy song to sing , hardly any Eddie Vedder song is. You didn’t imitate , and so beautifully and in a controlled way. Respect ! 🫡
Damn that algorithm. I just finished this week ending my 13-year relationship with the first love of my life. We lived together for 3 years and went through a lot. Then RUclips recommends this video to me. I used to listen to "Black" in my because of unrequited love. Today, I realize it's much stronger than I could have imagined.
My ex name was Black. We made music together one day it came on and I fKN sobbed. Betrayal trauma ghosted after 18 years. I sang it but haven’t uploaded yet. Maybe in a week or two. This was awesome. I did it on guitar and piano. I’ll decide later. It hurts like fck
Brother. Two weeks ago I had 20 years and 2 children. I'm sorry for your loss. I had my deepest cut with my first love when I was 14 and when I was 18 she broke up with me for some spaz. But Cat Stevens already sang "the first cut is the deepest". Cheer up my friend. There will be good days again. I recommend Chester Bennington, Pearl Jam and of course the Foo Fighters. After every fall, you get up again at some point. No drugs just music 😘
I’ve heard this song enough times it doesn’t bring a tear to my eye anymore, but you sure did. Incredible work, thank you for sharing your voice with us.
I have long been a PearlJam fan. My wife just bought me a hat like one I had in my late teens from a concert. The black and yellow. Hard to find. I just got it. And then this! Great soul. Great cover!!
I'm absolutely thrilled to have stumbled upon your channel! Your performances are truly inspiring. I think this channel will explode in a short time if you continue uploading more videos, and maintain this austere and at the same time simply dazzling style. Your intonation is remarkable, and the way you maintain composure while singing, especially through complex sections or moments that call for an emotional crescendo, is impressive. Your mastery of vocal fry adds a unique texture to your music, and the audio quality of your recordings is outstandingly clear. Keep up the fantastic work, and I would love to see more videos, maybe a rendition like 'Cats in the Cradle', similar to the cover by 'Ugly Kid Joe' of Harry Chapin's classic." NOTE: I'm curious about the microphone you use for capturing both your guitar and vocal audio with such clarity. It would be great to get some insight from you on that.
Thanks, man. I really appreciate that! And I'm happy the channel found you. I really have no idea where it will go. I'm just putting out the videos and hopefully they find their way to even more people eventually. Interesting that you mentioned Cat's in the Cradle. I just finished an arrangement of that and it will come soon! The mic I use is a humble Zoom H4 as the audio interface. It's just a fraction out of frame in front of me (I prefer not to have the mic in frame). I do all the mixing, compression, reverb, etc afterwards. The guitar and vocals are on one track - 100% live - so I have the mic positioned higher to get a clearer vocal sound. Hope this helps. Cheers!
@@rivercrombie Great my friend! It will undoubtedly be of tremendous help to me to understand the settings you use for your recording. And what an incredible coincidence about "Cats in the Cradle." I eagerly await your version, while I continue enjoying your videos and learning from your technique. In fact, I couldn't agree more with what @brandenhart mentions in the comments: "Just want to make sure you know you are inspiring people to pick up and play...". Wish you all the best.
I lost my Dutch girlfriend back in ‘92. I played this song on repeat for over a week…….shed bucket loads of tears. Still love Pearl Jam, especially this song 🖤
I cried listening to this song after finally listening to the lyrics. I had no reason other than understanding how sad it was and feeling the emotions Eddie probably went through singing it.
For the umpteenth time, we have here a huge interpretation. What a careful and controlled tone of voice!!! What good air management when singing!!! Singing and playing the guitar simultaneously is difficult in itself, and it becomes more complicated when doing so to sing with such professionalism and perfection. Thank you very much for another sensational gift for the ears, teacher. All the best!!! 😁😁😁🖐
Goosebumps. This is the first cover I've seen of this song that does justice to the original while also bringing something fresh. The simplicity is wonderful. Thanks.
Love your voice man. I would love to hear your take on "Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town". Your Down in a Hole vid made the hairs stand up. Just awesome. Thank you.
The difference between other content creators and this man is pure emotion. He feels all of what he sings. My favorite music content on this platform most of the time the cover is better than the original. Even some of your originals deserve to be covered. Simply the best. Keep it up. .
Ver os versos finais dessa musica... cara nesse momento fica claro o quanto Eddie deixou o sentimento ir além... e vc meu amigo interpretando essa canção fez com seu tom, impondo a mesma caracteristica, ficou bom demais.
Oh boy, what a cover!!! The best I've heard in a long time. Everything just fits and you really feel the song. Subscription is out! I saw the version for Cornell. Eddie's added "come back" at the end, which he only sniffs from the third time on, fits perfectly❤❤❤
That was a beautiful cover of an amazing song. Funny I started playing & singing this song last night and your gorgeous understated version gave me some great ideas. Going to see them in November in Sydney can’t wait. BTW I added this to my car playlist which has a very high standard of talent. Thanks for sharing your talent 🙏👍♥️
Thanks, man! I just figured it out by ear. I don't use any tabs for my videos. Always from the original recordings and my interpretation. I hope you can learn from the video though. Cheers!
@@rivercrombie I don't have good enough hearing maybe to pick out the notes like you do yet. I've been playing about a year but at my own pace, so I don't really know much. I'm improving a lot though and that's better than nothing. lol
My favorite Pearl Jam song and thanks for the stellar cover. However, I still prefer your original music. That really moves me in deep ways. But covers and originals are not at odds, they're both part of your magic. Play on!
Damn, what a great cover of, in my opinion the greatest PJ track of all time! Vedder’s hard to sing well, and this song especially. Lovin the covers of my fav 90’s jams and really diggin’ the originals as well. I’ve been at home sick for the past 4 and a half years, and tonight is the first night I’ve felt like picking up the guitar since. Keep it on man. Great licks on the six accompanied by a fantastic voice 👊🏼🫶
So good... 25 seconds in I was cursing at the screen. I had to go back and play it from the begining to not interrupt my own listening experience. Amazing. Every. Single. Song. I mean C'mon! If there's a song I like, I always check to see how you play it/ what chord voicing you use because it always sounds so good, and I want to improve my own playing. Your channel is like a modern day MTV Unplugged- Reminds me of the iconic performances by Alice In Chains, Nirvana, and Pearl Jam.
Just want to make sure you know you are inspiring people to pick up and play. And the stationary camera is so helpful in watching your style.
You're right! I started to play again after several months
got me back into it after a long while
So true. Picked up my acoustic after watching an AIC cover
I can’t say I’m not inspired to play, but I can definitely say I lack the talent 😂
@@jaquevius it’s the dream that matters.
The RUclips algorithm deserves an award for bringing my soul to your channel. Good Lord. Beautiful.
this!
I just found it too. Have you heard his cover of down in a hole by AIC? Haunting.

Pearl Jam Ten was one of the best albums ever IMO. Back when music had instruments and emotion to it. I miss that era.
