Great video. Good information. I am a long time street and dirt rider (50 + years) first time adventure rider from North Carolina. Have most of the camping gear but new to doing it off of a bike. Looking forward to it and hope to hit up some of the areas in your vids. SUBSCRIBED!

Thanks for watching and subscribing Steve. I am glad you enjoyed it.
Not all too long ago all my camping in the Carolina's was on foot so I understand that.
I think once you settle in on your kit you will find the transition pretty easy like I did. Maybe our paths will cross in the back country sometime.
Have you picked out a first camping location for when you are ready?

I have not picked one yet. It will likely be at a campground for all the reasons you mentioned but ultimately want to camp and ride at places like Uwharrie, off the Blue Ridge pkwy, and do the MABDR. I have ridden dirt bikes and quads at Uwharrie several times but never camped.

Great choices for sure. I have hiked, and backpacked in Uwharrie many times. I should add that to my list for Moto adventures.

Some of the trails there are very tough and may be a bit too much for most of us on an adventure style bike. If you plan to do those ones, don’t go alone in case you get hurt, and bring your big boy pants.
They are over my head, I’ll stick to the easier stuff lol😊. At 58 I think I better leave my big boy pants at home 😂.

Ha I love it. 🤣😄. Yep I am all about having fun and adventure. But I absolutely need to be extra safe when riding alone.

I can see a fence behind you. I think an electrical pole and poss a structure

It would have been nice if they would have dropped a power box and plugs for travelers. I would have loved that. 👍

If digging a hole and doing your business in a hole then you have to research the crude camp areas, but if there is another campground or store/town nearby then it’s ok.

Yes, if there is a chance for no cat hole I am all in. Only when absolutely needed. I am an avid backpacker, so I have kind of mastered that art. 👍
