    You have no idea how happy I was to find this video. I am a new knitter and am doing a test knit. The first ICORD bind off on the neck I did concert in so much I couldn’t get it over my head. Also it used a different way to close the gap and I could not get it to work. I was almost ready to chunk the whole thing in the trash because I have had so much trouble with this and it was all
    Me not the pattern. You made this sooo very easy. Thank you thank you thank you! Thank you from the bottom of my heart and for the salvation of my knit…lol

    Kimberly, this is brilliant, so well explained! I just went to my ‘go to’ RUclips video to remind myself how to join/finish icord bind off and happened to see my favorite RUclips podcast ‘Knit a Rainbow’ had a video on this technique, as well. So, took a few minutes to watch and happy to say that you are now my ‘go to’ video for joining icord bindoff! Love the last tip of fixing the gap at the underneath stitch when finished as I haven’t seen this addressed in other videos ….. this gap has bothered me and I now know how to fix it! Thanks, Kimberly

    • @Knit-A-Rainbow
      @Knit-A-Rainbow  2 года назад

      Hi there! You would cast on 6 sts, then knit 5 and k2tog. Repeat to beginning of round. It’s worked the same way with 6 sts instead of 4.

    How do you stop icord from curling up with stockinette stitch? As its the nature of the knitting and nothing works to stop the curl.

    • @Knit-A-Rainbow
      @Knit-A-Rainbow  11 месяцев назад

      I haven't had an issue with a curl... it could be that you may have to skip a few stitches on the body of the garment so that the ichord does not ripple.

    Very informative video, thank you. Question, when you did the icord bind off for your Rock It Tee did you pick up stitches around the neckline, sleeves, etc as per the pattern first and then add the 4 stitches for the icord bind off? I have not done an icord bind off before and I am confused that you have to pick up stitches first, I thought you just start but adding 3 or 4 stitches on the needle and then start the icord bind off.

    • @Knit-A-Rainbow
      @Knit-A-Rainbow  3 года назад +1

      I’m glad you liked the video! I picked up the stitches for the neckline per the pattern instructions. Then before I knit the first stitch, I cast on 4 sts. In other words, let’s say the pattern says to pick up and knit 100 sts around the neck. After I pick up the 100 sts, I then cast on 4 sts and begin the i-cord bind off. I hope that makes sense 😊

      @@Knit-A-Rainbow I’m doing an I cord bind off edge that has sections that goes around brioche which has slipped stitched edges compared to regular stitches of one stitch per row. I’m afraid the I cord will pull where the brioche is.

    • @Knit-A-Rainbow
      @Knit-A-Rainbow  Год назад

      @@lindaalikhan7962 yes you can add ease… what you would do for those corners is work the I cord without attaching to the last edge stitch. So work up to a few stitches before the corner (or tight edge) then at the point where you would knit 2 together: don’t knit the two together, simply knit. Slip the sts back to the left hand needle, then work as normal (knitting that last stitch together with the stitch from the garment. I would alternate that way until you get around the area that might pull in. Then continue as ‘normal’ until you get to the next area where it would be tight. I’m happy to make a video if you need more clarification.
