If you can play piano well and have knowledge of music, have you considered using a midi keyboard to play a bass line on? Would be much quicker for you.
Very useful Phil, thanks. I have a bass guitar (I’m also a guitar player), but bass guitar is notoriously difficult to record and get a good sound, and I usually get a bit bogged down with it. This may be a better option.

How does the audio to midi conversion compare to Cubase Variaudio? Theoretically this could be done within Cubase and use the Midi to drive ezbass or any other midi bass?
Good point. The detection of notes by Vari Audio for this purpose is more suited to other styles. In my tests I found that EZbass is more accurate reading guitar / bass. Plus the actual tweaking you can do within the application. Vari Audio does give you a starting point though and tbh that is all I would use EZb's detection for too. I much prefer to program directly into MIDI. Maybe another video due...
In audio tracker mode, I would like my bass guitar that I pre recorded to have both the original and the Midi bass guitar as the final mix. How can I do that? When you add midi to song track under Audio tracker It only does midi , I want a blend of both. Thanks
I tried it exactly, good sir, but the Audio is not recording at all even though everything else is fine. It shows the audio inputs from the sender. I do have a plugin on the guitar track and tried switching the order of the sender and plugin, tried the record enable on both the midi and guitar track, but no luck.
Hi there, perhaps you can try without any other plugins. Put the sender on your guitar recorded audio track. It is difficult to diagnose without being able to see your DAW.
@@PhilPendlebury I resorted to using reaper. Life is quite simpler now. I have been searching for a video like this for many months. It's the same issue in Ableton with my friend because in these programs, they specify whether the track is an audio or a midi track. Reaper just gives you a track to put anything in.
Thanks. I played the guitar in various ways. One of my techniques is to "slap" the guitar, (especially when playing live). But in this demo I just played it as you heard it and then changed the articulations to Slaps in the EZbass editor. The key is to keep the playing clean and tight. The capture will work best if you don't use any smoothing or distortion. Then do some editing afterwards. It is never going to be 100% perfect until you do a bit of editing.
Finally got this audio tracker thing to work and it sounds like total nonsense when importing some of the most simple riffs. It's way easier to just tap it in with a keyboard. It sounds pretty good, but this 'audio tracker' gimmick is crap. 😂
@@PhilPendlebury I may give it another go, but meh, seems more trouble than it's worth because midi tweaking is going to be necessary anyway. I agree. Totally shit. I tried sampling my basslines and simple eighth notes with a walk shotgunned. And it missed like 40% of them so there was a buncha gaps in an extremely straight forward bass line. Sticking to processing my actual bass signal.

Hi and thanks for watching. The main outputs from EZb are stereo, you will hear this on chorus effects etc. But if you are recording real bass then yes of course mono is fine, (unless you are using a Rickenbacker with dual outputs). Then place EZb on a stereo track. But if you don't need any of the stereo features it is not vital, whatever works for you really. :-)
