The average rental of a 20yd container using a flat rate method with included tonnage of 3 tons with out surcharges or other backend fees other weight overages tends to be lower in our area at about $400 or so. Pay the daily expenses such as dump fees(average of 2 tons) and fuel cost out of that flat rate fee and your likely left with between $250-300. Then you have your monthly expenses for truck, insurance, dot related expenses, maintenance and repairs which are always present, advertising, phone, web based sales platform subscription...ect. so that $250-300 profit gets nearly cut in half. So realistically you stand to profit $125-$150 when all expenses are truly accounted for. Your math isnt necessarily wrong, but it leaves out a while slew of actual expenses that make the bottom line much lower.

Thanks for the feedback. As we mention in the video, we've greatly simplified things by stating a profit margin of 30% to account for the costs of doing business. That may be true for some, but not others, but we hope this at least gives people curious about this industry the potential it has to make good money.

First of all I'm a huge fan of DOCKET, love the software and rely on it regularly. However, the statements you're making here are completely unfounded. Presenting this info and implying that such returns are achievable is grossly misleading.

Thanks for your feedback. What part of the math is off?

@@DocketSoftware u divided 250 or 500k by an entires years profit and equated that to amount of single rentals needed to make 250 or 500k. By your math i can buy a dumspter rent it twice a month and make 250k. I could be wrong here but i think thats what the first comment was referring to.

@@vinced3410from what I gathered. You’d have to rent 45+ dumpsters for 40+ weeks a year to achieve the numbers. So theoretically well over 1800 separate exchanges and rentals over a year.

If they’re unfounded please tell us your gross profits.
