infernal affairs because the second movie (a prequel) makes the buildup to the first one even better

the problem here is that Infernal Affairs is a saga given that it has 3 parts just like Godfather with flashbacks/prequel in Part II, making it a more compelling motion picture than a more rushed and compressed Departed project.
