    As you know Andy I have a 2015 Coachman VIP. Today all vans are made to a price and things are left off for that price plus profit. Back in 2015/6 things were put on to make better and in any van today if I changed I would be loosing too much so as long as mine gets serviced every year and passes it’s damp test I will keep it. You must think the same with your Ranger.

      HI Colin - yes I do mine will do me now - this happened in mid 70s with vans ci especially who went cheap but expensive in price - yep Ranger wont be going anytime soon for a swop anyway-cheers Colin

    Is the washroom smaller than before as the new tall fridge pinches the space that was previously utilised by the washroom?

    • @thetrackertravels
      @thetrackertravels 17 дней назад +1

      Yes just this - they have nibbled that bit for the fridge and saved cost on a bathroom window in the process!

    Your channel is great Andy 👍 nice to see some decent options for two berth vans. Much more practical and efficient than all these expensive twin axle monsters we see. Some of those are just definitely “keeping up with the Jones’s” purchases. There’s often no need for it.

    The shower not being a lined unit is a very poor deletion by swift. For £25,000 you have to fit a fully lined shower otherwise it's rendered useless. Also that old fashioned light in the shower enclosure ceiling, blimey we had one of those as an awning light on my parents old Mustang palamino GTS. The rest of the van looks great. But there does seem to be a pattern forming across the industry regarding cost cutting measures but prices at best being held at 2024 prices.

    • @caravanindustryexpertandyjenk
      @caravanindustryexpertandyjenk  17 дней назад

      I think it should be lined to be honest and yep that light has been around a long time no LED lighting is a poor omission - ah the Mustang - ex Abbey caravan guys started them up a popular brand in their day-thank you

    Nice van Andy, perfectly serviceable. A few points for my wife and myself, and you have obviously had similar thoughts.
    We prefer curtains all round, as it’s a home from home after all, so those panels really don’t sit well with us. Again, we prefer swivel corner lights, as we read in bed, therefore light can be directed onto our books. We much prefer that huge rear washroom on the Elddis you recently reviewed, and totally agree with you about the shelves needing a lip.
    If you remember, we had our sprite from new for 11 years until this January, and absolutely loved it, but for us, the Elddis you recently reviewed would be our choice.
    Thanks for another great review

    The Alpine 2 is a good fit for me and my partner also. I'm glad to see that they have dispensed with the flag in the external graphics that make you feel as if you are attending an international convention as a delegate. A minor thing, but I wish they'd have made the side walls all grey/silver. Still, the caravan looks better from the outside. The interior has certainly smartened up and doesn't look as dowdy and dingy as it used to. The colour scheme they have gone with is long-lasting in terms of design and like your good self, I like what they have done with the vertical 'pelmets' surrounding the windows. The old shipping length or overall length was 6 metres 5 centimetres. Whilst I don't think it has changed, I hope you are right in saying that the washroom is slightly more cramped as that potentially might mean that it is about 10cm shorter. An important point for myself in a market where vehicles (including all variants of trailers) must be registered in their own right and provide a certificate for a suitably sized parking space which the police come out to measure and a failure to have one, means that one cannot register the caravan or whatever vehicle one is buying. I only hope there is room for a decent sized onboard water tank as fresh water tanks outside don't work well here.

      Cheers Andrew the measurements should be bob on for NCC regs yes thats a smaller washroom but its fine but I noticed it straight away would lke to see new overhead lockers for 2026 and better spot lights a great looking tourer especially from outside - thank you for taking trouble to comment Andrew
