It doesn't get any better than this! Johnny playing as if he hasn't a care in the world.Absolutely gorgeous, nobody but nobody wrote for Johnny like Maestro Ellington and Sweet Pea Billy Strayhorn.Put this on countinual loop for me and I would be in bliss. What long tones.

The lyrical poetry of Johnny Hodges, painting beautiful notes of female symmetry, reminding me of a painter absorbed with much passions for beauty.

To enchanting for sleep, too restless for rest, too good for peace and quiet, too tuneful and tasteful for forgetting, it is Hodges at his and the orchestra's best.

Johnny Hodges alto sax. What an incredible sound.
I never get tired of watching this video.
I’d the chance of getting the DVD Duke Ellington*Soft and Gentle some time ago.
I’ll check it to find what you want to know.

In fact the DVD I’ve got doesn’t have this information.
This composition is from Billy Strayhorn .
