Thanks for watching! I used eBay vendors. The door seals were from "rockriders-jeepstore," the liftgate seal was from "tamraz." I suggest taking phone pix of the side profile for the strips you are replacing, and then estimate the length with a tape measure and make a note. Then, go to the eBay motors section, enter your vehicle year/make/model, and search for terms like "door weather seal" or "door gasket" or "liftgate" or "trunk" etc. Compare your pix and notes to pre-verify fitment. The 3M 08001 weather strip adhesive was purchased at a local autoparts store and is also available from online vendors.
I'm still using the original auxiliary pieces. Some door and window seals are available at Quadratec, eBay, etc., especially for 96/pre. Some are only available from wrecker bodies.
Aaron Very good video, thanks. One question, do you have the link where to buy those rubbers for the doors? I have the same jeep 1998 classic model and I am looking especially for the ones for that vehicle? thank you so much
I got them from an eBay vendor but that was a couple years ago so I couldn't say who would be your best option now. In general I've found a search term like "XJ door weather seals" will bring up options, then work through the results based on years (97-up or 96-pre).
@@Onecooliceman seller o bought from is long gone, and sellers of this stuff rotate frequently. Better to search eBay or Amazon by keywords ("XJ Jeep door seal") and then look closely at the side profile of the seal the seller claims to have. Or, use reputable sites like Rock Auto, Quadratec, and Summit Racing (but pay a little more).
Thank you I love my XJ gonna fix a few things
Very informative video thank you.
Thanks for the video. Where did you buy the weather stripping from?
