- The anuttarāṣṭikā is a hymn of eight (aṣṭikā) verses by Abhinavagupta, on the method of anupāya (no method) in the light of the highest reality/supreme -anuttara.
The teaching on anupāya, as elaborated in this hymn, have been revered by Kashmir Shaiva Pandits since their inception by Shaiva Master Abhinavagupta, who devoted the second chapter of his magnum opus - Tantrāloka - to the method (upāya) known as anupāya, which literally means ‘no method’.
Abhinavagupta (c. 950 - 1016 ) was a philosopher, mystic and aesthetician from Kashmir. He was also considered an influential musician, poet, dramatist, exegete, theologian, and logician - a polymathic personality who exercised strong influences on Indian culture.
This reading of the English translation is a compilation of Lilian Silburn’s original English notes and Shri Pranath Kaul’s clear recollection of Swamiji’s translation.

Nondual Shaiva Tantra are becoming the teachings I most resonate with. Please share more if you are able. Thanks.
I read this with such contempt right now. And then I read it again and realized I was projecting from in my self the tone that annoyed me.
What an odd experience.
Did you find any other good Shaiva Tantra?
pass on your wisdom to every comment section from now on, it is your divine mission!
@@Ashley-jp4nn lol ok. You didn't send this to me but it showed up on feed anyways.

Kashmiri Shaivism (or Trika Shaivism, as called by its exegete Abhinavagupta) is a monistic school having the worship of Shiva at its core. Mālinīvijayottara Tantra and many other texts outline six "varieties of the goal" or "targets" (laksyas) of yogic practices. Contemplation of void, of body, of bindus, of the sacred phonemes, of the world and of resonance, this last one leading to liberation. This mysterious and complex tradition is as important as Advaita Vedanta.
I am new to this, but have been a student of Advaita Vedanta for sometimes, self learning it.
Would you be so kind to entlighten me why did you say it's as important as Advaita Vedanta?
@@garukoe because there are only two non dual sects in hinduism advaita and trika, both of these philosophies are not faith based and they can work within the framework of methodology of science
❤😊

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful , thank you. ❤
A real treasure!
Wonder of wonders…
Thank you 🙏
Absolutely beautiful unflinchingly-incisive dissection of the anatomy of this “sister-science” of Advaita, which also employs Mahavakyas such as “Brahman Is One Withour a Second”. My own introduction to The Tantrika was a life-changing perspective-altering graduate course entitled “Hindu Tantric Mysticism” through the department of Comparitive Religions at Michigan State University, in the 1990’s, given by Paul Muller-Ortega, PhD, author of Triadic Heart of Siva. Our studies of the Siva Sutras, said to have been mysteriously unearthed in Kashmir as the archetext of Kashmir Saivism, and the writings of early Tantrikas such as Abinavagupta, Ksemiraja, et al, was a revelation to myself of the depth and power of Tantra (lit. “To Weave Together”), as the Tantric Masters employed any and all means and practices to experience The One Divine SELF, even practices prohibited during their day-jobs as Brahman Priests! What an incredibly liberating branch in the evolution of Hindu Philosopical thought! Thank you SJ for this beautiful musical representation of this wonderful mystical evolutionary path si vibrantly alive today!!! 🙏🌈🕉 Kevin

*Kashmir Shaivism ~ Anuttarāṣṭikā by Abhinavagupta ~ Trika Shaivism*
In this highest state of supreme god consciousness, there is no need for spiritual progress, contemplation, art of expression, investigation, meditation, concentration, recitation, exertion, or practice.
"Tell me then, what is the supreme and well ascertained truth?"
The advice given is to neither abandon nor accept anything, enjoy everything, and remain as you are.
In reality, there is no such thing as birth and death, hence no question of bondage for living beings.
The struggle for liberation is considered useless and a delusion, akin to mistaking a shadow for a demon or a rope for a snake.
The perception of bondage is deemed deceitful and without substance.
The essence of all things is said to be the one's self-experience.
The bliss of the supreme state is incomparable to worldly joys like wealth, wine, or union with a beloved.
The brilliant flow of light in this state is unlike that of a lamp, the sun, or the moon.
The joy of the self is comparable only to the blissful state experienced upon liberation from all differentiation.
The supreme consciousness is described as a state of universal oneness, which is a forgotten treasure abode.
Attraction and repulsion, pleasure and pain, rising and setting, self-confidence and depression are all different states forming the universe, but in reality, they are not different.
The specific nature of something should be perceived as one with one's consciousness.
The totality of objects appears eternally in the present moment; there is no past or future existence for the activity of universality.
Differentiated action is an illusion, transient, and just a heap of appearances like a dream.
The universe's greatness arises from one's imagination; it doesn’t take birth from anything else.
The individual alone shines in all these worlds, becoming many by one’s own glory.
Real or unreal, small or plentiful, eternal or momentary, what is colored by the illusion of differentiation and what is pure in one's own self, in reality, is this universe rising from your own consciousness and becoming one with your essence.
The universe appears glorified in the mirror of consciousness.
Having ascertained the sublimity of the universe and understood the greatness of establishing one's self-experience, enjoy universal sovereignty.

Beautifully read. Perfect background. These readings really help me. Thank you.
Shiva nataraja = tai chi tu (yin/yang symbol)
Shiva = dao = divine darkness, darkness within darkness, a gateway to all wanders
Vishnu = all-pervading light that sprouts from the darkness
Brahma = just one sprout, one version of that light which is this expanding universe, it further fragments in things like galaxies, stars, planets, humans for the sake of learning who am I?
Kashmir Shaivism (Shiva Shakti ) is being mixed up with Hinduism (Brahma Vishnu Shiva).
The author is a Shaivite sage. 'Shiva is Everything' is at the core, Shakti is the power which manifests within Shiva.
This recording itself is part of the duality we are experiencing.
The takeaway: Even our sense of duality is crying and imploring for our search of oneness!
Tremendous patience will help you to wake up kundalanie
