Surely not. Fanatec isn’t that great at all. Done that, sold it after 3 RMA and moved on to high end gear
@@aqulex84Love my fanatec gear but also had issues with them, my pedal started giving issues, luckily there is a third party load cell kit which perfectly fixes the issues. Also the handbrake broke from being pulled, I mainly drifted and rallied but still, it shouldn't break from being used the way it was intended
@@SprinkCalSA yeah the handbrake breaking ant uncommon and fanatec knows about it yet they still selling them.
@@TheRivalryDrifting wish they had the decency to do something about it, it's an easy fix atleast, used the old wastegate bar from my 200SX, a few nuts and bolts and it works like a charm🤣

For people with smaller hands, the gloves just make everything worse. Like driving with super thick mittens.
We have seen plenty of videos with others gifting PS5's. If people can gift a PS5 they can gift this things too.
I recommend shoes for any simracer. Those exact sparco shoes are quite cheap (about €40), really comfy and light. I can’t imagine driving without them now

I'm actually baffled at how something relatively simple such as a shifter can be crazy expensive. A single T300RS shifter for example is more expensive than a whole G29 wheel

@@benfrese3573 the pedals are ok to me. It's the comfort that is not good. I put a blanket on the foot rest for extra cushioning.

Dude buy the cheap metal shifter from eBay/Amazon/AliExpress!
It cost me 60€ and it feels so much better than the Fanatec shifter!
I wanted to order the Fanatec shifter but that tried it at a buddies and was super disappointed.
It still feels like some to made for a computer and nothing like a mechanical thing that would be in a car!
Then I ordered one of those cheap shifters off eBay (get the 6+r not the 7+r if you want to be able to shift fast into 5 and 6. The 7+r is only good if you want to drive semis and use it as an 8 speed with a splitter) and it feels absolutely perfect!
It feels real and mechanical, just like the manual shifter in my BMW e36!
Don’t waste the money on something that doesn’t feel right!

Gloves cause substantially more wheel wear than not wearing gloves to the point that Fanatec advise against wearing gloves.

Doesn’t have to be a fanatec lol, could get your homie a 70$ Logitech 6 speed shifter that works fine
first of all use the standard gas and brake method: keep your right foot at the brake and if needed for gas then dont switch your foot to the gas but just stay at the middle and put ur upper foot to the gas
If you're looking for cheaper sim shoes you can buy the non slip shoes they use for restaurant jobs

ironically i’d say go bigger on the cockpit. for an extra few hundred you can get the F GT from next level. probably the best thing i’ve got on my sim, such a good seat and helps with the immersion
gloves give you more grip meanig your wheel and your gloves wears down faster

I have that wheel stand. The only thing I would add is get the wheels for it. Makes it way easier!
About shifters: I prefer to have two shifters without one with a switch.
with that so, while I wanna chill on ETS2/ATS I use the H pattern one to drive and the +/- shifter for trailbraking and parking
To my simracing bretheren that are in search for shoes to use but don´t wanna pay 70+ euros...i used some and a type that fits perfectly is martial arts ones. We buy Wacoku or Feiyue shoes for kung fu and let me tell you that they also fit perfectly for simracing. Thin rubber sole that is grippy were you need it and loose were you need it and its cheap on aliexpress or amazon.last pair i bought was around 15 euros.
I didn’t think of this lol I was just about to drop like 80$ on some shoes since my feet tend to get cold with just socks on.

I don’t use gloves but I always use socks and I just got a steel racing stand it’s not bad
as any jimmer fan know, the gloves don’t protect the equipment, they protect the virginity
and here I am waiting for my brithday to buy an ebay ebrake, because $50 is still enough to feel guilty about on a normal day 😅

I only notice that the brake is so soft and long travels!

If you're looking at a handbrake, check out the thrustmaster one as well! I have it and it's solid as a rock and can also work as a sequential shifter. Oh and you can angle it to be either like a drift handbrake or a more regular over

These days most people can afford to get started with sim racing no problem. You can ofc spend 100k, but you don't have to.
Fanatec CSL DD is a Direct Drive wheel base (5nm can be upgraded to 8nm for 150 bucks), bundled with upgradeable and solid pedals and a good 300mm wheel, that's a really good wheel/pedal combination for < 500 USD.
Don't forget to get in the pit to switch out the rubber of your shoes😂😂😂

I do sim drifting. BUT I don't even use socks, I don't use gloves, i don't have handbrake, but i have wheelstand, only problem is that my monitor is on my desk so i need to watch upwards, but I enjoy the drifting.😀

If a milionaire didn’t know what to do with money, I’d be very happy if I got any of this, together with a fanatec wheel base and a weel prefferably, as I don’t even own those xD Im still running an old red and black Genius Speed Wheel connected to an Arduino so that I can use it with windows 10 xD
CSL DD from Fanatec bundled with Wheel and Pedals, goes for 400 Euro brand new (Should be < 500 USD). Then later you can buy the break upgrade (load cell) and the Boosterkit (5nm -> 8nm) for 150 each (both are good upgrades but not necessary). No millions needed for DD action these days.

True, but most of the wear in the long term comes from the sweat & oils in your hands and skin which would largely be mitigated by a decent pair gloves I think
I suggest to get an entry wheel base and pedals as t300 and make an effort in a great cockpit upgradeable. Practice and practice and finally go ahead with direct drive or whatever. Fanatic products are not feasible for entry or beginners

If you get the Fanatec handbrake, grab two. I'm on my fifth, only Fanatec product that is just not solid somehow.

If you've decided to go that deep, then you've no choice, you got to go deeper or else ain't never getting out.

I mean the whole setup is probably around 2k not mentioning that you won’t be able to race whatever car you buy irl so there’s that…. Even if you did decide to race you’d end up dropping way more than any sim rig would cost and the upkeep costs would leave you broke and living in that car.
