13 stands for Marseille. It's their area code and people from Marseille are very proud of that. Paris's area code is 75. The set, the whole building was designed by Le Corbusier. It was his conceptualization of a modern habitation. The whole building is a mini city actually. The collection is her worst to date. A brand like Chanel should be able to make us dream beyond logos and embroideries. Is it desirable? No. Is it sellable? Yes. Main collection and prefall were better.
I don't know what was more depressing, the collection (I liked a few pieces...) or the desolate location of the show. Talking about being deconnected from reality: bringing high end fashion to a low income appartment block.

The venue and overcast day did no favors for the Chanel show. I would rather have seen this at a really cool inside venue where they could control the set to create the ambience needed for this collection. There were a few pieces that I liked, but overall disappointing.

CHANEL claims the number 13 to be a lucky number. They might have thought of it as some kind of ‚refreshing twist’ to their iconic number 31. 13 here is a nod to Marseille‘s zip code, starting with 13XXX.
I would only buy the first green outfit. Seeing that, I thought ok, this collection looks good at first. Agree completely that most wouldn't guess Chanel for many items. I also like the crochet pieces for the most part. The fingernail jewelry is supposed to be avant garde but it misses the mark. It's not attractive. I do like the grey hue of the suede bag but not the style. Really tired of seeing mostly black designer logo bags. But that pea green color was beautiful. Shame they only incorporated into a couple pieces. The oversized costume jewelry logoed to death is tacky. (This entire comment is an opinion).

Marseille is the Detroit of France! Interesting port city with quite a few rough and ready neighborhoods…..went once on route to Provence and don’t have to go again. I hate flip flops and I live in SoCal. Flip flops are not a shoe! People can we please go back to proper shoes! You are not gonna want to have those on if The S..t hits the fan. Yuck to this whole show…and I am now officially over the brand. Selling off the few pieces I have since they don’t really want my money.
