I'm Egyptian, A COPTIC CHRISTIAN EGYPTIAN, I shout that out loud because we are the most pure blooded Egyptians out there and that's not only my opinion that's what Egyptologists, Historians and Scientists also agreed on , and I tell you that every word that Bassem Youssef said is right and I totally agree with him.
Yes Egypt had lots of mixed cultures throughout its history like for example: Greeks, Romans and Arabs, but the Egyptian blood didn't mix and change that much and that's because for centuries we Egyptians had a golden tradition rule to marry our cousins, and that tradition is still present until now especially in Upper Egypt(from Assiut to Aswan), Although that tradition seems silly and bad from a scientific biological point of view, but that doesn't matter, silly or not we kept that tradition of marrying our cousins for centuries and that helped us to preserve our pure Egyptian blood not mixed as long as we could, and the result is what you see now and that is Modern Egyptians looks typical to their Ancient Egyptian Ancestors, just look at my skin color and Bassem Youssef's skin color we are almost the same although he is a Muslim who was born and lived in Cairo and I am a Coptic Christian who was born and lived in Luxor and there is almost a 1000 km distance between us, doesn't that tell you a thing or two about who Ancient Egyptians were and what they looked like?
With all due respect for all the Black people and all the other ethnicities out there, but we Egyptians are special very special, WE ARE NOT Black or White or Yellow, Not Europeans or Africans or Asians, Not Assyrians or Persians or Israelites or Nubians or Greeks or Romans or Arabs or French or Italians or Germans or British or Turkish or Ukrainians, Not Middle Easterners or Caucasians or Mediterraneans or Levants or Amazigh or Berbers or even North Africans.
    WE ARE
    EGYPTIANS,

Actually, the most regal REAL QUEEN of Egypt, HATSHEPSUT's accomplishments outshadowed other pharoahs. It would not be until laser technologhy could confirm that under all her vandalized cartouches, was her name for all the works commissioned. She brought Egypt out of its isolation and was a 21st century business woman in 1400 BC. Of course, like any successful woman, she was despised by men and met her fate. Oh, and those "GREEK" columns so classic to magnificent architecture? They were of her design.

Nice scene ... even though this arc (of Constantine the Great) ,
Cleopatra is passing through, didn´t exist in Ceasar´s time. Nor did
many other temples seen here. (Film was made in Cinecita in Rome)

They don’t make movies like this anymore… the care that would go into these films, the dedication, the well crafted costumes and sets… Hollywood films used to take their times building stories & putting piece by piece together. These days the studios have simply gotten lazy and rely on CGI and cheap props. I remember how much training actors had to go thru back in the day to build their crafts. Judy garland had intensive training. Gene Kelly as well. The only downside to this era was how poorly the actors were treated by the studios. However, they went from one extreme to the next

Cleopatra was the last queen of Egypt, she was the last descendant of the Ptolemaic dynasty that rules Egypt since the death of Alexander the Great in 323 b.C. till the death of Cleopatra ( 30 b.C.). Funded by Ptolemy I Soter, Alexander's successor in Egypt as pharaoh, it was a Greek-Macedonian dynasty ( mixed with Persian elements thanx to marriages and maybe some from Egypt thanks to concubines). Ancient Macedonians were greeks not Slavs

In "Cleopotroast" Hollywood rewrites history UHGEN! It was the emperor Augustus (portrayed as the still relatively youthful Octavian here) who "found Rome a city of brick and left it a city of marble," as he himself said near the end of his reign 50 years AFTER (44 BC to 14 AD) the events depicted in this film!

It is important to recognize that the art of cinematography is a continuation of art expression, like painting, theatre, poetry and music, the different is that film industry by then 1963 was taken over religion and politics of how conquer the world 🌎, we must never understimate, the quality of artists like Elizabeth Taylor and company, because theire focus was art thought Theatre and movies, politics and other things were already involved, the economics was very good after all! He, he he!

    That's the "original" Red Carpet!!!
I always wondered (in reality - not the film) how in the heck did they get all that S**t from Egypt! Cargo camels??? I mean, allllllll those people! Allllllll those horses, birds, props!! How'd they get them from Egypt to Rome???
I saw this film in real time sitting in the theatre! Back then movie theaters in DC were very plush: thick carpet - velvet seats - chandeliers & this was shown in one of DCs most elegant movie houses. The nuns (Catholic school) took us. Still today holds fascination. Whoever choreographed this should've gotten an Oscar!

Despite the obvious cost and effort that this sequence must have taken, it rings false and harks back to the Cecil B. DeMille extravagant approach to "historical" films. Incidentally, the extras running around in front of the horsemen at the beginning look like they all shop for clothes at the same store.
