Hello! Thank you for watching my video and supporting this community. I hope that you are feeling much better and that your Pica has resolved. If you have been diagnosed with iron deficiency and are still struggling, you may want to check out my new iron supplement that I formulated and launched in 2018! After years of suffering and trying every iron supplement out there with all of the usual side effects, I decided that I could do better. Based on the complicated science of iron, everything that I learned volunteering with the Iron Disorders Institute and after becoming one of the world's first and only Certified Iron Educators I helped formulate Ferritin Boost. It's the only solution for my iron deficiency that actually worked long term! Thanks again and best of luck to you. www.ironology.life

I was craving this delicious ice at my job. My mouth would water and I couldn't wait to get to work to eat it. I needed it like someone would need a cup of coffee. I looked into it and I found out about Pica and I started taking a multi vitamin everyday and it absolutely worked.

This is exactly how I found out myself. Eating almost 2 kilograms of crushed ice every day. I regularly have iron IV Infusions because I can't absorb it enough through diet and supplements. For the last ten years I've had this craving pointing out that I need an IV iron boost. 2-3 days after, the craving is completely gone.

I just feel it’s only certain ice that makes my mouth water. I also want to eat medicated powder. Or walking through an industrial area…omg…sooo good. Saw dust and metal objects slicing through iron and steel. I’m thinking it’s the mineral content in these items that makes me crave them so badly as a reaction to having a mineral deficiency. When I’m taking my iron supplements I don’t have the craving either.

Going for an infusion next Monday. Third one in about a year's time. Tried everything before that, from pills to liquids to supplemented food, nothing cranks it up. And if I know my body, I'll be needing more infusions in the future.
It's not too bad, though. Only thing I don't look forward to is the fluid being too cold and my arm freezing up again :(.

Finally I was given I.V. fluids of iron and injections of Procrite injections. As endoscopy revealed that I had a hidden episodes spontaneous internal intestinal bleeding. I’m 12 and I’ve been eating ice for almost a year now, in 2 months it will be officially 1 whole year. At first I thought it was weird and I was ashamed of myself for it but now that I took a cooking class, we learned about iron deficiency and all other types of stuff, 2 other kids had said they had something that was mentioned and then I felt enough courage to say I had one too but a few kids were weirded out by it but my 2 friends were supportive and didn’t really care much and they see me as normal and stuff and they didn’t judge me. Nobody judges me when I fill a cup up with ice now in that class when we cook 😂 and I even get cups of just ice when I’m at a restaurant or fast food place, and if I’m with family or friends, nobody judges me. My family has known I loved ice ever since probably the age of 5 since now I’m known as the “ice muncher” or “ice cruncher” or some nickname like that from my mom and grandma who have always noticed when I was little, I’d always ask for a cup of ice. As hard as I try though to get my iron up, I can stop eating iron or something for 5 minutes or less and then it’s like I didn’t even try. Life with the “ice obsession” I have is weird still since I’m only 12 and I constantly have my family(mom and sister) buy me big bags of ice I finish in less than a week. I used to me okay with just one bag a week or just making ice cubes myself but, then the making them soon became to the point I couldn’t even wait 10 minutes after putting an ice tray in the freezer, and my family was too busy to get me a bag of ice. I even once took an hour long walk to sheetz for a bag of ice while it was pouring rain outside.

Omg giiiiirrrrl you have to try food grade diatomaceous earth! At least consuming that pacifies the pica but you’re getting an extra dose of minerals such as silica, and selenium which make your hair, nails, and skin pretty. It’s so dusty and powdery, and perfect! If you mix it with water it’s like a mud. It’s perfect. Or just take your iron supplements and eat a steak with lentils and kale…that also works.

Have you had an iron panel done? Ask your doctor to run one, or you can even order one yourself through my website. You can have blood drawn at a local Quest, get the results by email and then take that info to your doctor for a diagnosis. If you do find that you have an iron deficiency, you may want to check out my new iron supplement that I formulated and launched in 2018! Hi Arianna. Thank you so much for your comment. It is actually very common for pregnant women and new moms to become iron deficient. Did you ask your doctor to do an Iron Panel? You need to know what your ferritin is. Normal is 50-100.
Thank you for watching my video and supporting this community. I have had many infusions over the years, but it's been a number of years since I did this video. Hello! Thank you for watching my video and supporting this community. If you have been diagnosed with iron deficiency, you may want to check out my new iron supplement that I formulated and launched in 2018!
