    Time to mount those LED's to the ceiling. The lights are awesome, and come with the mounting kit, but I needed something a bit more!

    Thank you! Couldn’t find any other video of installing lights from the ceiling. I’m gonna try this same method but with tube lights for my house plants.

    Great idea. I'm probably going to put a 2x4 on mine since its a 4ft Chihiros WRGB2. Great idea with the Caribiner though. Maybe next time if you want some coolness you could use some grow light adjustable hangers so you can move it up when cleaning etc.

    I know they sell the toggles with the hanger included, I’ve used them to hang bird cages and house plants. And they hide the hole in the ceiling

    What putty was that you used to fill your hole on the ceiling, I can see it's thicker than joint compound or spackle?

      You know, I think it was just spackle actually! It doesn't look very good actually!

      @@MyFirstFishTank awesome thank you for the reply, I found some snap off toggle bolts that fill the hole so I don't have to, I live in an apartment so that's why I asked.

    Maybe add a cord cable concealer to hide the power cord on the light but other than that looks great. 👏🏻

      That's a super cool method. I like that he can just set the tension on those easy rolls, and then move the lights wherever and whenever he needs to get into the tank. Thanks for sharing! He is an amazing scaper too!

    Will this work for my HLG 650?Or too heavy?

    • @MyFirstFishTank
      @MyFirstFishTank  2 года назад

      Not sure. This is pretty much the only way I mount lights. But if they are super heavy, you could just paint and screw a 2x4 into the studs in the ceiling, and then mount to the wood for a stronger connection.
