As a mechanic for 50 years you got me sold on your product. I want to buy a little quality when I do buy one. I like your detailed video .I once ordered a well submersible pump 460 3 phase motor. both units weigh like 200 pounds each. Customs called me and ask what they were, So I explained to them in detail. and told them how they work. and they let it in from the Canadian side. They had no clue what they were or how they worked. But were smart enough to make a simple phone call. Those pumps were like 300 rated gallons per minute outflow. Most people will never see those types of pumps.
You're building a great machine no doubt, but thats not apples to apples comparison. There are other chinese minis built better than that one with extra plating on boom etc. They also cost half as much. Youre comparing a diesel to a harbor freight gas. Come on... 😒 Everyone sh1ts on the cheap chinese, but for people who just put a few hrs a week they cannot be beat for value under $4-$5k all in at these regional auctions. Not eveyone needs or can afford a $9k+ "offbrand alternative" to the $40k big brands. Yet I will admit this looks like a quality diesel thats hard to beat at the price point.
Back in the spring I started looking into the Chinese mini ex. Thankfully I came across your channel fairly quickly. Even watching the videos you had available in April, it was clear to me you have the better value (from upgrades and experience). Now I'm just arranging finances for a future trip over and purchase.
Thanks yeah what lots of people don’t know the average consumer is all the big names just work with manufacturers overseas and put together a bunch of outsourced parts for the most part. John Deere bobcat kubota etc ain’t like they are making all that stuff in house at all
As long as there is someone renowned supervising the designs and the manufacturing quality of what is made somewhere else there is no problem. But there are unfortunately copycats who have no real clue of what they are doing, and if you get that, you are lost and regret your purchase. Chinas industry is only 40 years old. That's their max experience, and most only 10 or 15. Compared to that is in EU, US and Japan some hundreds of years which led to the high level they got ...
He did not even talk about the hydraulic internals. There is a huge difference if you use Parker, Bosch, Linde or whatever renown or a cheap Chinese copy looking like that. Just copying the geometry of items isn't enough. That doesn't mean that all from China is bad, the point is, you don't know which ones are really good until you found it out, and that can be too late if it was bad ...
Would like to see you demo the rollers on the tracks if they are plastic or steel and are they bushing or ball bearing? and if one of the wheel motors fail... what model Parker would replace it? And same with pump? Thank you I like this machine!
Good Luck with "GroundHog", Brother! Love to hear a fellow young American starting a proper business. Make that money off China - whether they're making money or not (They sure are obv).
Thanks for the great comparison! How easy is it to remove the canopy? I have a 10x16' shed with a barn-style roof that I would like to store a mini excavator in, but the doorway is definitely too short for the canopy to fit through.
So,what exactly are you say/selling?? Is your product custom built to your requests,OR simply a larger model with basic standard design differences nothing more? The two units compared are not of the same category in terms of capacity nor price.
Shipping to Georgia is about 800-1200 for heavy equipment, we offer a one year powertrain warranty. Our website groundhogequipment.com is helpful for parts and pricing
Ground hog excavator $15900.AGT QH13R fully enclosed and insulated from environment cabin $6900, but real price is around $4000. Weight: Groundhog operating weight with rubber tracks 2200 lbs. AGT QH13R operating weight 2120lbs. Now let's compare attachment prices. Got it?
I appreciate these videos, but I am hoping at some point you can show in a video or better yet posts high resolution images of each model especially the operators platform, seat controls, distance between thighs and controls, foot pedals (actual) and the different maintenance access points on each model. As the customer will be spending hours of their time in the seat the layout and control and what one can expect are super critical to my making a decision on which model. Additionally, I have watched all your videos and still have no idea what models have under seat access versus back door access or screw panels? Where are fuel, oil and hydro fluid fill and check points on each model? All this seems to get rushed over in favor a sells pitch. Trust me I am sold, now just drill down into the details on each model with in depth and specific videos instead of jumping around. Thanks.
On my Bobcat 320, the hydraulic swivel that runs the tracks and blade Bobcat used a British pipe thread. The hydraulic shop couldn't get the correct fittings so I threaded in an American pipe hydraullic fitting and somehow it works. Even Bobcat even used a weird threading back then.
The British threads are confusing, and it makes getting fittings really confusing. Male bspt can be threaded into female bspt (Rc), bspp (Rp), or G (bspp plus face seal provisions). Because female G thread incorporates all provisions of bspp and and is comparable with bspt, you typically only see components with female G thread. It's a complicated mess. I think it's one of the dumber things I've learned as a pneumatics engineer.
I saw a video where a guy ordered a Chinese excavator and ended up with an extra $3K port bill that he wasn't expecting. It can be a risk importing it yourself.
@@groundhogequipment Please do compare a kymron xh20d yanmar engine. To your closest model. I'm not looking to pit one against the other I'm in PA if you got a model close comparison. I'm staying in PA
Great info Nick thanks!!! You explained well that the parts are available. What about service if there is no dealer around? I’m about 1 1/2 hours from your dealer in CT. Finaly, I can’t find used groundhogs for sale….. are they around?? Appreciate your effort!!! I was seriously looking at CFG’s but buy accident I saw your video and you guys are ahead on my list!!!…..
Yeah, it's Camera Guy ;) Hahahahah! I believe the one behind the camera for this video was Adam, but most of the people here have followed Nick around with the camera in hand.
You won't have to wait days for a response from another country, We'll answer the phone with US based customer support and service. Our network of dealers helps justify the price point for most customers.

Very helpful video as there are quite a few brands when searching. I believe all of yours come with a hydraulic thumb as well.
That is correct! All of our excavators come standard with a hydraulic thumb and auxiliary hydraulics.

fairly simple, just removing a couple bots.
Good luck with your projects. RUclips is awesome and start-ups can make a dream become a reality.

Price of one selling to someone in georgia? What kind of guarantee on parts? Do you have a spreadsheet of part numbers and parts prices? Thanks

The only difference is the $3800 markup vs what I can buy straight from your supplier.
Again... We've always made it known we purchase from a supplier in china then heavily modify and customize our units here in Middleburg, Pennsylvania

@GMC.Sprint That does sound really complicated. They were female threads. I'm just surprised Bobcat used something like that.
Look all you dart throwers. I think the guy is being real and honest. If you don't like his product go buy what you have the money to buy
Washington state distributor? If not, how much to ship generally?
None in WA currently, We could get a 1 ton unit out there for around $1800
Do you have distribution to Canada? Atlantic Canada specificly.
Yes we can get our machines there.

Yes
