No video on what it can do. No review just a walk and no reliability.
We'll start making more working videos of our units this year
Notice the bobcats boom is higher up. Compared to the groundhog. Which restricts the bobcats lifting capacity.
Correct, this allows our unit to have similar ground clearance with a lower center of gravity.
love my bh30d
Great to hear! Share some photos or videos to our facebook page if you get a chance!
FYI, The weight for steel-tracks is wrong on all the Mini Excavators models 12 - 24 the GroundHog and dealer websites. It is half of what it says. They are 150lbs each or 300lb for the pair of steel tracks not 600lbs as it says on all the sites. If they were 300lbs apiece, I would have never been able to pick one of the tracks up by my self. 🙂
Thanks for bringing that to our attention, we will get that information corrected.
Very interested in a 40. Question.... Whats the difference between your machines and a kymron ? I haven't seen any of them in person. So any input would definitely help with my decisions. Thanks.
I believe Kymron have similar machines but I can't speak much on their units. We have a strong network of dealers and customer service, use as many brand name parts as we can and we're always working with our manufacturers to make adjustments and innovate on the miniex market.
How does this experiment compare to max lift closest to the machine?
closer to the machine will allow for more lift capacity
Thicker flat steel on the chassis is stronger with a couple well placed braces. Much stronger than thin tubing.
What would cause the machine to hump and rock when driven on flat ground. Almost like there's a small log between the track and drive motor. Something loose? Thoughts? Thanks.
debris in the hydraulic fluid or drive motor, possibly air in the system. Some units controls may need to be feathered, when tracking instant full flow to the drives can cause that to momentarily overload and unbalance the drive system
@groundhogequipment appreciate the reply but this doesn't feel like a hydraulic issue it's not like a stuttering in the drive. It feels more mechanical and the Machine is literally rocking left and right like something is not running centered. Just trying to get ideas on what could be causing it. It's pretty pronounced.
I live in a desert, do you yhink this would have the power to go through sandy and small rocky soil? Im not asking if it will drill through a rock, but just like gravel/crushed rock mixed with sand...
This machine would handle that type of material very well.
What size/ton is this machine?.
It's a 3000 lb machine
Want this with a tiltrotator. Are you looking into this.. with being installed out the door with a new 70d?
We can get a rotating tilt head for the 70 series for $3,840
@groundhogequipment thats ace. I would love to see a video with that beast. I am a keen buyer come spring
Just bought a 2023 HK30D but I cant find any mantanance manuals ,oil and hydraulic capacities , filter#'s, etc. Can you provide that ?
send us an email at info@groundhogequipment.com
That looks like a re branded Deret 1000
There are machines with the same body but this unit would be Danfoss drive motor, Hansa pumps, and Walvoil valve bodies as well as access to our network of dealers for warranty, parts and attachments.
I see a comment where you say the battery is lithium iron phosphate. Does it have cold weather charging protection? LFP js damaged if charged below freezing. Also what is the price for 2 speed and side swing options?
Side Swing is $895 and 2 Speed is $995. There is low temp protection on the battery system that prevents it from charging under -10 degrees
Can the idle-wheel Tensioner Screw & Jam Nut be replaced with a Grease-Fitting Tensioner system? And if so, what is the cost for the parts?
We would have to change out the front idler wheels and the tensioner system but it is possible for around $1000. It would be much cheaper ordered with that set up, around $100.
@@groundhogequipment ...Thanks, I already have the ZH24D-2 and I didn't know it was going to be impossible able to reach the jam-nut on the tensioner screw with a wrench because of the small access opening. I just received some 9" steel tracks and I want to make sure that I don't have any issues with the steel tracks making the tensioner screw vibrate loose even more. I believe the grease fitting tensioner system would minimize that issue.
look a lot like the Kymron
We are similar but there are many differences, like drive, pump, valve body, and our network of dealers.
any issues working with or leaving this out in the rain?
No issues at all, we've had some units in the elements without any problems
Made in China?
Yes, We work with China to engineer machines built for the US market.
Can you comepare this model sy350 to the model sy680?
The 680 is meant for larger machines with more hydraulic flow, because of that extra hydraulic flow its a much more powerful jackhammer.
@groundhogequipment that's strange, when I talked to rippa they said the 680 is light duty and not meant for continued use but the 350 was the better heavy duty machine...
Great video
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Just bought one! From one of your newer dealers. Can't wait for delivery.
That's awesome! Hope you enjoy the machine.
Just ordered the green one from Carrs towing in NY. Excited to pick it up next week.
Congrats on your new machine! CARS has been great to work with
@ super nice gentleman.
@ he’s picking it up from this morning. Can’t wait.
I got the white one
@ do you like it? Any issues or mods to it?
Thanks! Fought with one of my tracks that got thrown after some mud built up under them and turned out I was doing it backwards. Took about 15 minutes by myself after watching your video.
Glad we were able to help!
WAY over priced at 24k.....for that u can buy a beautiful low hour machine
I got a 1.5 ton mms with pilot control it’s a very nice machine works awesome and about 6200
Easy with the ramps. Try without ramps, then we know if ur good👍
. Harbor freight sells an electric jackhammer for $900 that I bought and the thing works awesome. I bought it to go through 14 inch concrete slab on the back of my house and it went through it like it was nothing, in case anyone’s looking for another alternative..
I will take steel any day over rubber because I am sick of the rubber tracks stretching and coming off the sprockets in rocky ground. The ideal would be steel tracks with rubber pads.
Cannot ever compare Chinese to a well built quantity Japanese unit. You get what you pay for. Real steel verses pop metal Just saying
Nick.... apologies if for not catching this sooner....... but thoughts prayers and condolences to you, family and friends...sorry to hear of your loss.
I'm sorry for your loss
Volume of music is too high but great video thanks
This was the first commercial i have been in , and i loved having the young experience with groundhog equipment. Thank you for having me.
That's great to hear, we're glad you enjoyed the shoot!
Looks like junk
Identical to the 323w that I own and paid $4k for.
I can't wait to buy one of these next month
Hey Nick, Could you or one of your guys do a video on installing steel tracks?
Does it take def
This unit does not use a DEF system
What’s the difference between the Zh and Bh
The enclosed cab BH is 1100lbs heavier and an overall better built machine machine and cab setup. The ZH40 is worth considering if your looking for an open cab machine that size.
How do you adjust the drive tracks hydrolics so they move at the same speed. Mine are way off. Would love a how to video pls
The functions can be adjusted at the valve body, we may make a video on that soon
Great vid fella.
How will Trump's tariffs affect Groundhog Equipment?
We'll either find a way to make it work with our partners or we'll shift some aspects of production domestically
How do you get the grease out of the grease tensioner? Do you check the track with it in the air or can I check while the track is on the ground?
We prefer in the air. Use a wrench to loosen the bleeder valve or fitting slightly. Be careful not to remove it entirely, as grease may shoot out under pressure. As you loosen the valve, grease will start to come out slowly. To speed up the process, gently push the front idler inward using a pry bar (make sure the machine is safely supported if it's off the ground). Let the grease bleed out until the track tension is reduced to your desired level. Once you've released enough grease, tighten the valve securely to prevent leaks and clean any excess grease from the area.
As a mechanic for 50 years you got me sold on your product. I want to buy a little quality when I do buy one. I like your detailed video .I once ordered a well submersible pump 460 3 phase motor. both units weigh like 200 pounds each. Customs called me and ask what they were, So I explained to them in detail. and told them how they work. and they let it in from the Canadian side. They had no clue what they were or how they worked. But were smart enough to make a simple phone call. Those pumps were like 300 rated gallons per minute outflow. Most people will never see those types of pumps.
Hello. could you give me the spring dimensions? (length, thickness and diameter of the spring) I'm making a track drive, but I don't know what kind of spring it should be. thank you
What model are you looking for the dimensions on?
For this white one on the video. I have rubber track 200x72x44. Thank you.
Thanks
Yeah and it costs twice as much so whats the point
You won't have to wait days for a response from another country, We'll answer the phone with US based customer support and service. Our network of dealers helps justify the price point for most customers.
Nick I love watching these videos. It’s really great to have the business owner explain specs and teach usage himself rather than a salesman. Thank you!
Why do you put the tracks on the joystick and not the thumb(aux) that seems way more important to have on the joy stick. Also you really need to set these up the a main pin thumb its way better.
We can put the thumb on the joystick on almost any of our machines. We noticed the curl linkages tend to fail easier with thumbs on the main boom pin
@@groundhogequipment when you put the thumb control on the joystick is it proportional or basic electric solenoid? Also, i see i regards to the main pin, that makes sense i suppose.
Is the expandable drive an Eton drive?
That's not an Eaton drive on that model
Where do you get parts for them
Any Groundhog dealer would be able to supply parts or perform service work
