Put some STRONG grip transfer tape sticky side up on your mat and stick your faux leather on the transfer tape instead of the mat. Reuse the transfer tape until its not sticky enough anymore. I hope this helps save your mats! It has been saving mine!!!!

That is so cute. I just got the templet and can't wait to use it and make little purses for my granddaughter.
There is a faux leather (paper thin) setting. I haven’t cut much faux leather but that is the setting I use. Works perfectly for the thicker faux leather. I actually used less pressure and it works perfectly. But the pressure could vary by machine.
Also makes it easier to remove if you stick the pattern side to the mat and have the backing facing up. May have to mirror your project depending on what it is.

@@tessareiambriz Welcome! I tried cutting chunky glitter recently. Recommend glitter side up so it doesn’t stick to the mat. Cutting it was hell! Lol. I will sacrifice the mats for a good cut! Face down definitely much nicer cuts :)

Yes after a while it loses the grip I end up washing them but I’m gonna try the Tip I was just given to place it upside down the leather on the sticky side . 🥰

I have seen some ladies lay down clear contact paper sticky side up on their strong grip mats….gives a protective barrier between the faux leather and the mat… would need to test the grip strength though. 😊 love your tutorial though super helpful. Thank you!!!!

Can u show me how to add the snaps
Sweet tutorial! I have a bit of trouble with the snaps. They are sometimes so strong they almost tear the faux leather. Have you ever run into that? Would love any advice. I tried doing a dot of the extra faux leather behind the top snap, but it still has too much "hold" and threatens to tear. Thanks again for the lovely tutorial. MasieMooDesigns are so nice!

The side ones are called brads. The ones at the end are called snap buttons

It cuts over twice , I believe because it’s fine point blade.
I’m looking for a better way of doing it so it won’t damage the mat as much.

im sorry im new and i just got my cricut and i have a question. ive seen some people use the bonding paper on some of leather pieces and i was wondering do u have to that and wouldn't that make them sticky? sorry if it's a dumb question
It’s not necessary but I believe it’s a way to protect it

Yes just adjust the entire thing all together depending on the size of your fabric, all my fabric is different sizes so I'm always adjusting.

Yes amazon too but I wasn’t a huge fan of them I got some prettier ones with diamonds from Michael’s they’re on sale right now.
They also have different kinds so decorative.

Hi yes it is you can adjust it on Design Space just make sure you have them all grouped and your material is big enough.
