    I gotta just say that this is pretty impressive. I just happened to watch a parody of a cartoon and found myself curious of the voice over process. The main thing that sticks out to me is the passion that this guy has for this, and I applaud it! I know this vid isn't anything major but from his passion and detail I'm now possibly looking to learn more about this. Great job! I salute you for sharing something you feel strongly about. Keep going, and dig in to it even futher!.

    Remember this -- dboyd 1985 -- God gave you a unique voice that no one has--use it and be you. Everybody is born unique but many die a copy. Be you and use your natural ability. With Gods help you can do this and have a great future in this field of voice overs.

  • @JayCarrero
    @JayCarrero  14 лет назад

    JayJay, I want to encourage you, if this is something you would enjoy doing than GO FOR IT. Don't worry about what other people voice sounds like. You can be sure of one thing....NO ONE and I mean NO ONE has your unique voice. There is only one of you and that can never be replaced. There is so much work out there in this field I am sure you will find your market. God Bless You and Be Confident. Remember you can do this.

    There is more work than there are voice over artists. Look at your local businesses in your area. They are always looking for voice over talent to do a spot for there company. Mom and pop shops are a great start to build a client base. Remember not all small businesses stay small many times they grow and you should grow with them.

    My set up is a very very very simple set up. All I have is a Generic Mic called" Stirling Audio Mic with a 0db and -10db (Decibel) roll off switch-which cost $299.00 at Sam Ash Music. I use the Apogee Duet $500.00 for my Mac Computer and Garage Band software that come with the mac. I use the "Podcasting"Setting in Garage Band and under that setting look for "Male Radio Noisy" effect. This is what works for my voice. You might need to try other effects for your voice. --God Bless

    gerald612-I don't use a processor. I am using the Apogee Duet with a Generic Mic call a Sterling Audio mic I bought both at Sam Ash. I can tell you with all honesty what you here is plug n play settings. I don't add anything to my voice. The duet is a excellent system for home use with pro quality. I sometimes use the basic Garage Band effect Under the "Podcasting"Setting "Male Radio Noisy" If I did use an effect this is this one. I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    The trend for some years has been a very conversational almost unprofessional "sounding" read. CONTAGIOUS7 has a beautiful voice, possibly very consistent with what might make a successful DJ. You have a great announcer/promo voice and will probably have success there. I've been in the business since '93 and there is a lot of prejudice toward announcer sounding guys when it comes to commercials.

    I'll work on putting something together that should help you. It's going to take some time since I'm doing a narration for an independent film. Let me think out what I'm going to video tape before pushing the RECORD BUTTON and up loading it to my RUclips PAGE. Also keep in mind that if you would like for me to help with some recording, shoot me over a script.

    I am a student animator and I was just wondering if you would ever be interested in the future if I passed on a few lines of script for my animation projects? • @JayCarrero

    @bornagain3377 USB is Ok to start with but after you make a few bucks you should upgrade to a good condenser microphone that connects to a regular mic cable and into some interface that connects to your computer. An 'Apogee' a great option.

    The Mic that I used in my
    "Learn to do Voice Over" youtube video is a "Sterling Audio Mic" with a 0db and a -10 db (decibel) roll off switch. It is a generic mic of the more expensive types.That's what I used in my You Tube Video the cost was $299.00. It is well worth every penny. If you have any other questions feel free to write back. What software are you to process your voice? More important what setting are you using in your software? I have two different software packages Audition and Sonar and can not get my settings correct to create that movie trailer affect to my voice. It seem everyone that I find wants to keep that part of voice over work secret. I am working to do voice overs for my church commercials and TV broadcast. That way I can have excellence for the Father above.
