How do the Steel Vengeance Lockers work?

- One of the best rides at Cedar Point is Steel Vengeance! It's incredibly fast, steep and disorienting, and it's worth a ride.
However, to ride this gem, you have to put EVERYTHING but the clothes on your back into a locker. These lockers are small, but they are enough so that you can continue to use your cell phone and keep your wallet and keys with you for the majority of your wait.
But, there are a lot of misconceptions about the way these lockers work. So, we're gonna go over Steel Vengeance lockers from start to finish.
Let's go!

Awesome video, but if you have an athletic strap, you should be good. I show the operator that has a strap they let me on
Good! I thought that MAY be the case, but I couldn’t remember. Will pin this.
Might be worth a mention that after a pretty hard/long rain the free lockers will flood and be closed. The employees at the entrance will not allow any loose articles in line, directing you to the pay lockers outside the queue, pretty much making Steel Vengeance an upcharge attraction.
True dat. Saw that happen last year.
It’s crazy to me how much cedar point changes every year. We used to go every weekend every summer when we first got married for like 4 years but now that we’ve had a baby/the pandemic haven’t been since 2019. So two years and this changed so much. Lol thank you so much for the video !
I’m loving the consistent uploads
Best of both worlds! You can have your phone for entertainment while waiting in line and the park can keep from having people bring stuff on the ride which could potentially fly out while riding.
that's my thinking too. I don't mind leaving everything behind, but as the only adult in the group it makes me nervous to leave things like my phone, cards, and keys sitting out while I ride with the kids.
I haven’t ridden Steel Vengeance since 2020, but did get to try this same locker system at Kings Dominion last weekend before riding Twisted Timbers! I love it, I’d love Cedar Fair to do this on more of their rides!
Love your videos! Took my first ride on Steel Vengeance this past Monday and it did not disappoint! It never lets up throughout the entire ride!
I find it interesting that SV requires a locker, even if items are enclosed on your person. Like a phone in zippered pants. Especially because rides like Iron Gwazi have no restrictions at all. More a nuisance than an actual issue, though. The walkthrough was definitely helpful as I plan my first CP trip!
Yeah, this doesn't make a lot of sense. I have a pair of cargo capris that I have dubbed my "amusement park cargo capris." On my lower thighs, one side has a zippered pocket big enough for my phone (and I have one of those little wallets on the back of my phone to hold my CC and ID), and on the other side, a flap-over buttoned pocket big enough for my sunscreen and a small "lipstick" phone charger. There's no way SV is intense enough to unzip/unbutton secure pockets!
Thank you!!!! Steel Vengeance was in our top 3 rides we wanted to ride at CP. I’ve now been here 3 days and have ridden everything but SteVe because I’ve been so anxious about messing up the lockers thing. Hitting it first thing in the morning! You’re a god send! 🙏
so glad to help!
Great video on showing how the lockers @SV work. Thanks!
Great info on the free lockers...I left my phone in the car last time just because I heard they were not allowed on Vengeance...Thank you
Immensely helpful, thank you! I'm visiting CP for the first time in many years this summer, and I really want to ride this, but hearing about the system was very confusing. The walkthrough was perfect for me.
So glad it was helpful!
Great video Trent! Keep up the great content. I also wanted to take the time to say thank you! Your videos have inspired me to start my on channel and vlog my adventures! Maybe one day I'll see you around the parks.
This is the video that started the 2 week Trent Marathon I've been on
First off, this ride terrifies me but I have to ride it. I suspect it will replace the Beast as my favorite coaster.
Second, I appreciate your explanation! I'm glad to be forewarned of the system.
So you come off the ride, circle back round to the entrance and then go to the lockers again?
Thanks again!
Yep! You got it!
I finally fit on Steel Vegeanace lap bar, rode it for the first time ever, love it, but not the shin guards, they are restrictive on my shins, feels like a bear trap 🤕
I really wanted to ride this, but, I've been having trouble with the restraints all day being super tight on me with my build and physique, I decided not to risk it I kind of regret that
What makes this ride different than others that you have to lock up your stuff?
If I’m gonna be honest, I don’t know.
Why is this ride more crazy than maverick or raptor? I don’t have an answer.
But these are the rules that cedar point has in place.
Loved the video, and thanks for sharing. It seems simple enough especially since Steel Vengeance uses metal detectors, the one thing that I would like to know is I thought I saw some big lockers outside the queue for Steel Vengeance I wonder how much those cost? again thanks for sharing can’t wait for more videos keep up the good work!!!
I think it’s 2 dollars per hour and 10 dollars for a moveable locker for all day.
@@notyournormalg1 Thanks, I was just wondering because I remember in one of your videos that you made you mentioned that Cedar Point had some sort of deal where you could rent a locker/or all day lockers for $10 for the whole day, I will have to go back and watch, anyways thanks for explaining how the system works in the line for Steel Vengeance.
@@notyournormalg1 I think the $2 gets you 2 or maybe even 3 hours, (The line is rarely under 1 hour)
@@Tylerhopkins3106 yeah. The 10 dollar option is definitely the better option,
a lot of six flags rides have lockers now and they don't even let you have a fanny pack....its a problem for some people. for example, diabetics need their phone to monitor, and can't be without it for a long time....i guess they can use the 'disability pass' to avoid standing in the line for a long time...i am too disabled to even go to amusement parks anymore, but if i could I would specifically have cargo type shorts with secure closures.
Can’t wait to ride steel vengeance for the firsts time.
Awesome video man. Just what I was looking for. One question though. Does every coaster have the “free” locker storage like steel vengeance?
Hey! None of the other rides has lockers like this. But there are lockers throughout the park that you can rent for 10 dollars for 3 hours.
Can you wear glasses on Steel Vengance? I could take them on Velocicoaster and that also had double sided lockers and a metal detector. My glasses are plastic, by the way, so it didn't beep. Im looking into buying a strap for my trip. Having my glasses off are TERRIBLE on rides. I have really bad vision without, so it makes the experience much less enjoyable.
Definitely buy a strap. With a strap you can wear them.
TBH. The fact that you can wear glasses on velocicoaster and not on steel vengeance is a HUGE double standard in the industry and shows that Cedar Point goes further with restrictions than needed.
Thanks! Quick question, do the other thrill rides at Cedar Point have metal detectors and lockers in the queue like SteVe?@@notyournormalg1
The locker system it’s genius
I’m heading to Cedar Point in July, but I do have a question regarding Steel Vengeance (I guess every other coaster too). Are you allowed to wear glasses on Steel Vengeance as long as you have an athletic strap so it’s more secure? I get it if you don’t have one on, but I got family who can’t see without glasses.
Yes. I’ll test that out also soon to see how well the straps work.
@@notyournormalg1 Cool. I've never been to CP before, so I was just curious. Thanks!
Just want to add you can wear glasses with a strap
Do you wait in the majority of the line before putting your smaller stuff in the lockers and then the medical detectors are after the lockers before boarding? Like VelociCoaster?
That’s exactly it!!!
Very much like that!
lol imagine someone has the same birthday and picks the same thing
I think the algorithm works so that the picture that was used, is not used again for the same birthday.
You can wear glasses but only if it has a visible strap.
Hi Trent, I wondered if they allow flip flops on Steel Vengeance?
To my knowledge yes. It’s a closed floor coaster and I’ve never seen anyone flagged for any kind of flip-flop
Did they get rid of the zipper pouch on the coasters?
Yeah. No zipper pouches on the rides.
Can you keep your watch on??
Yes. Watches can stay on. But nothing in pockets.
Bro tell you you are not here today!! (Or this has now been edited) Goodness gracious i need someone to ride Steve with me and no one will
Fun fact if you bring things on you are subject to removal from the park and you will receive a misdemeanor leading to crews calling the ride me. meaner kinda a play on mean streak and misdemeanor.
The free lockers are in the que lines correct?
Yep!
They would’t let my husband even get in line with the zipper pouch “fanny pack” had to pay for a locker
Yep. No bags are allowed. They have to be left in the car, stroller, locker, bushes, etc.
Only small items allowed in line.
Does anyone know the dimensions of the locker?
I think it’s 2 feet by 3. The workers at the front entrance of steel vengeance won’t let you bring anything on that’s too big.
@@notyournormalg1 Thank you!
I don't like that cedar point went card only, I don't do credit cards or banks anymore. Not after I found out large companies can get bailouts from the federal reserve
you say you can have phones and keys, but then say the scan and say you can't bring anything on? What is someone really can't see without glasses? and they have a hard case in cargo pants to put them in?
You can wear glasses if you wear a strap. I usually just take them off. You can bring keys, wallets, phones, but then you have to put them in the free lockers.
@@notyournormalg1 that makes no sense, you can bring them but you can't......
@@110311DONTWANTCHANNE I’m not sure what part you’re uncertain of. You can wear glasses with a strap on the ride. If your glasses do not have a strap, they will go into the free lockers in the middle of the line,
If you have a wallet or keys or a phone, they can be in line with you until you reach the lockers. Then you put them in the free lockers until you are done on the ride.
This video shows each step in detail.
it looks to easy for someone to watch over your shoulder and steal your bday/pic and then your stuff
I suppose if you see someone behind your shoulder, then you might not wanna start entering your information.
But people are far more excited about getting on the ride than painstakingly watching for another person’s birthday.
Okay, I am *really* disappointed in you, you chose an alter-ego date of birth, and you didn't use the one I always use fake identities! That being of course April 1st 1969!
I was there a couples weeks ago and THE KIDS YES I CALLED THEM KIDS WONT LET ME IN with anything hat car key wallet ecttt they said everthing goes in the bigger locker. I was soooo pissed!!!!!!! I still havent got on this and been there two times. I complained to a supervios and got talk to like a kid and told well there in chagrge and what do you have those itmes for ectttt well I have to drive and buy stuff ectt... so its who is working might give you a HUGE HARD TIME and well that makes Ceder Pint customer serive the wost for me
