I think the flechettes are the most terrifying because there's a possibility that you will either live through it and just be maimed permanently, or that you'll die slowly.
@@Actually_nobody_everThe shells actually had around 8000 darts and would kill or maim infantry in a 300 meter wide, 100 meter long cone. Also, each dart was designed to break apart on impact, causing two wound channels per dart.

For some reason it's the flechettes, even though the bolo clearly obliterated all life, there's something about multiple exit woulds destroying both one's ability to stand *and* will to live that makes it a winner.
Yeah, dozens of different wounds that all curve in different angles and a bunch straight through. You're not going to survive that but you can be sure it's a painful death.

Co in the early 70's we made home made bolo rounds with lead fishing weights and piano wire. We used them for feral dogs, coyotes and any other predators after our livestock. But we also used them for cutting trees down with a base stump about 2 feet across or smaller. 3 to rounds for the 2 footers and a come along to insure they fell where we wanted them too. They tore up the feral dog's and coyotes. We lived off grid and those dogs attached people also.
I feel like each round needs its own body to truly test. Also the bolo round seemed like a solid slug instead of a bolo. The doom round was unfairly abused for going last and it might do better from a few more feet away. However, this is the most awesome ballistic test channel.
With each of these unusual shells, I see things that could be improved about them that I never would have thought of without seeing them in high speed. The flechettes needed a hard 'coin' between the darts and the wadding to keep them from getting tangled. The BOLO rounds need some kind of wadding between the two balls, to keep them from becoming a solid lead sandwich with wire inside. The Doom Doom Doom rounds need a hollow point slug at the front to slow down in the target and deflect the buck and birdshot outward.
Honestly, I love how vilent the BOLO and Triple-D was but I am pleasantly satisfied with the flachet rounds because of how perfectly the darts flew through the torso. They drilled through so beautifully, I expected more tumble.

I love that they get to the experiment and shoot without the dramatics…all the “woe is me this shotgun is really kicking haaarrddd”. Pick it up, shoot it with confidence and move on; bravo guys, great video!👍🏼👍🏼
I think the doom rounds would need like a cone shaped wad with easy to break off edges so that it gives the smaller shot a little push to disperse it. The bolo could use an irregular one that could maybe start a spin before it separates.
Oooo this is amazing please keep them coming,I love these kinds of videos, yall should try the breaching rounds, they move fast, and explode on contact,or inside things would love to see some slo mo on a dummy with them
In terms of sheer rip, tear, and bleed-ness I'd say the Doom,Doom,Doom rounds were the best. It literally ripped his bones and lungs, and just destroyed him. But I'd say practically, flechettes cause most pain, and have highest chance of killing. Also they are harder to treat, since you have a bunch of darts everywhere in your body. They stay and cause problems later (obviously since there are a bunch of darts in your body). All of them were simply mind-blowing though (quite literally mind-blowing) and i loved the high speed footage. Keep up the good work! Edit: The Geneva convention is merely the Geneva suggestion for these guys Maybe you could try incendiary rounds against a torso next time?
I love the dissection of the actual slowmo footage. No one else does that. You guys have a great channel and formula on your hands. Keep it up!! I'd say for the Doom Doom Doom round the buck shot and bird shit should be switched around so the buck shot gets more spread and the bird shot spreads more closely to the target
Flechette rounds are an excellent round to carry for soft body armor penetration. When we pulled some NIJ 101.4 level 3A vests we took them to the range and shot them with a lot and the flechette rounds were the only ones to penetrate them, among basic LE available options. The patrol rifles cleanly go through 3A vests so we didn’t even bother using them.
LOVED that it was all KSG. Everyone of them was horrifying. I think the DOOM DOOM Whatever was the worst though. You guys called it perfect on that one!
One of the more recent military uses for fleshette darts is to drop them from aircraft 100,000 at a time. Dropped from altitude over 200 mph they come in at a angle and we'll put a hole in every square foot of a football field. And since there's no report or explosion troops on the other side of the Hill. Their comrades on the other side of the Hill will not be alerted that a whole platoon was just taken out.
awesome video again! i would only suggest maybe stand further back from the target so the projectiles have more distance to spread out instead of being clustered together.
The flechette rounds are terrifying. A shot into the gut with that is survivable but you 99% have punctured intestines, which means you just get to die 3 days later of a massive infection
The other two would cause loss of consciousness in seconds due to massive blood loss. The flechettes you could be awake while dying slowly for hours or even days.
the algorithm finally decided I should discover you guys and wow, this is some top notch stuff. Keep it up! I like all the angles. As a reloader, the round exiting the muzzle shot is very interesting to me. Its cool to see how the gas seal flares out as the gas escapes from behind it, then snaps back in to place.
I want to see the old PMC core sample cartridges come back. It's basically a soft pointed copper jacket with no lead. With a plug on the back that falls free during flight. I still have a box of the 38 special. 1,800 ft per second out of a 6-in barrel. I never pulled one apart to weigh the projectile but without the plug it can't weigh more than 10-12 grains. They were supposedly taken off the market because they make a permanent wound channel instead of ripping meat out of the way that can be sewn back together. Another round from the '80s is Black talon. They are so uniform sharp and jagged. Surgeons were cutting their fingers open without realizing it feeling around for the projectile. The black talents were made by Winchester.
I literally found your channel like 2 hours ago & have jus been binging 🤣🤣🤣 You should put another torso behind the flachettes to see how much damage they’d do to someone hit with the aftermath! Totally subbed & slapped that bell!
Flechettes were pretty cool. watching them exit the back in all directions... blocks of clay are pretty interesting on other channels, so in super slow motion, probably even better.
My grandpa in his 60s got shot with a 9mm hollow point point blank in his arm from a hunting accident while by himself in the woods in the middle of no where, It was a miracle he survived. the drs wanted to amputate at first but in the end were able to save his arm. I think he had about 60% use of his arm for the remainder of his life. he passed away in his 80s a fews years back. He was a incredibly tough Man that lived one hell of a life.
It wasn’t with a hunting rifle he got shot by it was just another gun he was carrying. He never was able to figure out why the gun went off. He was a gunsmith that built the gun he accidentally shot himself with.
If you increased the distance from where you shoot I think more of the Flechettes would stabilize and the Bolo rounds would open up. Great video the Flechettes is the round I would least like to be shot by, it would be over for you pretty quickly with the other two rounds but a gut shot by the Flechettes would be a slow and painful way to go.
That was badASS! LMFAO 😆😆😆 I just found your channel with this video right now, and well, first off, I'm a sucker for ballistic dummy videos, and especially slow-mo gore, but it's like you guys mashed together the ballistic dummy thing that other channels started doing months ago, with the exotic shotgun shell type stuff that Taofledermaus does (but even better bc there's realistic blood, bone, flesh, and gore instead of a gummy bear or a sparring dummy), and the amount on high-speed footage and retakes you do makes it to where I don't have to rewind as much lol I always rewind when it comes to the close-ups, but it's like you know the best parts and times to show the footage again and again 👌🏻 I usually don't sub to a channel right away bc I wanna make sure the same content will continue (sometimes it's just one cool video and then it's not very interesting afterwards), but imma sub right now bc I'm sure there will be plenty of this good stuff coming out in the future 🤙🏻
To cause the bolo to actually spin. Make one a big dense steel, the second a copper small ball, and make the line between them significantly thicker and a very sturdy metal material (or some kind of VERY strong rope). This will cause a difference in speed and weight between them causing one to pull the other, and cause its own kind of rotation. Maybe make one a .28 inch copper ball, and the other .5 of steel ? make a bolo kind of deal.
6:29 you can see the flechettes passing through the dummy...like once the tip facing one's entered, they righted themselves and cut through like butter
Bolo rounds: what warships in the 1700s and 1800s called "ball and chain". Two cannon balls connected by a chain. The idea being that they can wrap around a mast and cut it down.
That Flechette was devastating but it’s probably more devastating for whoever is unfortunate to stand behind him, since those darts spread out a lot exiting
I love weapons I love guns in particular after watching just three of you guys videos I have subscribed and now I am so much more afraid than I was before with the hint of gained respect for these dangerous weapons that second shot was impressively frightening

That bolo just exploded the lungs and heart Immediately.
Just wow... I have found this channel yesterday and since then I am watching.. :D AMazing work, guys, just go on...
The bolo looked the most deadly. The victim was already compromised on that side, still a great video!
Flechettes are so damn terrifying and if you survive getting hit imagine trying to get them out of you
In terms of sheer rip, tear, and bleed-ness I'd say the Doom,Doom,Doom rounds were the best.
Edit: The Geneva convention is merely the Geneva suggestion for these guys
Maybe you could try incendiary rounds against a torso next time?

Ballistic High Speed discovers Survivorship Bias
This is the kind of "Humm what would happen?" Kind of content that RUclips should be protecting. Keep it up gents, well done.
this is what i wanted the slow mo guys to do, think ive found a new binge channel
I liked the flichets the best. They were very visually interesting. 😊
awesome video again! i would only suggest maybe stand further back from the target so the projectiles have more distance to spread out instead of being clustered together.
My favorite is the Flechette round! Seeing the first flechettes pass through was gruesome in the extreeme.
I haven't subbed anyone in over a year. You earned a sub.
Nice camera work lads!!! Keep the vids coming
seeing all of the flechettes flying out of the back was like watching a hwatcha shooting. there was something so visceral about it
My grandpa in his 60s got shot with a 9mm hollow point point blank in his arm from a hunting accident while by himself in the woods in the middle of no where, It was a miracle he survived. the drs wanted to amputate at first but in the end were able to save his arm. I think he had about 60% use of his arm for the remainder of his life. he passed away in his 80s a fews years back. He was a incredibly tough Man that lived one hell of a life.
Who hunts with 9mm hollow points?
It wasn’t with a hunting rifle he got shot by it was just another gun he was carrying. He never was able to figure out why the gun went off. He was a gunsmith that built the gun he accidentally shot himself with.
If you increased the distance from where you shoot I think more of the Flechettes would stabilize and the Bolo rounds would open up. Great video the Flechettes is the round I would least like to be shot by, it would be over for you pretty quickly with the other two rounds but a gut shot by the Flechettes would be a slow and painful way to go.
I could tell he was pretty nervous or excited about the footage from the first one. Good stuff
SUBSCRIBED and I hope your videos become an integral part of my feed! That was bad ass!
Glad to have you here!
That was badASS! LMFAO 😆😆😆
I just found your channel with this video right now, and well, first off, I'm a sucker for ballistic dummy videos, and especially slow-mo gore, but it's like you guys mashed together the ballistic dummy thing that other channels started doing months ago, with the exotic shotgun shell type stuff that Taofledermaus does (but even better bc there's realistic blood, bone, flesh, and gore instead of a gummy bear or a sparring dummy), and the amount on high-speed footage and retakes you do makes it to where I don't have to rewind as much lol I always rewind when it comes to the close-ups, but it's like you know the best parts and times to show the footage again and again 👌🏻 I usually don't sub to a channel right away bc I wanna make sure the same content will continue (sometimes it's just one cool video and then it's not very interesting afterwards), but imma sub right now bc I'm sure there will be plenty of this good stuff coming out in the future 🤙🏻
Best ballistics video I've seen in a bit
Idk how u guys dont have 1M subscribers yet. U guys are awesome
Man, I can't get passed the expansion of the torso with the Bolo. Definitely don't want any of these coming our way though
Just subbed, you guys are awesome love the content!!! Keep up the great work!
How do you guys only have 552k subscribers you are amazing
MOST UNDERRATED CHANNEL ON RUclips!
I love weapons I love guns in particular after watching just three of you guys videos I have subscribed and now I am so much more afraid than I was before with the hint of gained respect for these dangerous weapons that second shot was impressively frightening
6:19 all the ones that went in like a pen (is) 😂 nice visualization bro
That bolo was devastating! 😮
Great video. You have to look at the distance at which you fired the rounds from also. The bolo rounds are known for not spinning like they are supposed to, but still destructive.
