@@seanfoltz7645 Now I can't help but picture Scott as Sabretooth and Adam as Wolverine, but if they get the costumes and a collab going on, I'd pay good money to watch it.
In the video, the 8mm round seems to impact slightly nose-up. Bullets tend to wobble a bit immediately after leaving the muzzle and often travel over 100 yards before that wobble is damped out. This is often called " bullet going to sleep". IIRC some WWI-era bullets were found to have their best consistent penetration of obstacles like sandbags at somewhere near 200 yards for this reason. Some FMJ bullets like the US M193 and M855 have much better terminal effects against animals when they hit at a slight angle. The problem was that the yawing effect is unpredictable and about 1 out of 6 bullets would hit the target almost straight-on and penetrate much deeper before yawing or breaking up. This was called the "fleet yaw problem". A primary reason for the design of the M855A1 was more consistent terminal effect that did not rely on impact angle.
That or the weapon is heavily used and about to fail. Personally id be wanting to Xray it before putting too many more rounds through it, else risk a catastrophic failure and the associated injuries...
Oh I see. Because I'm Egyptian and I was thinking it might have been the low quality barrel. When I was in the army all our service weapons were "helwani" and it was a well known thing that the AK would burn out under heavy auto firing much easier than the Russian one. When I say heavy auto I mean as in southern Egypt weddings, not in combat, which is much more ruthless full auto by the way. So I guess Egyptian Mauser is just as good as the German one.
@@abadran8174Well, I have to laugh at the reference duty levels: Heavy auto level = Egyptian wedding And specifically, southern ones. That's brilliant :) That's a new standard right there.
The difference between the 8mm Mauser impact and the .30-06 impact is that the 8mm out of the Hakim (pronounced Ha keem) started off with a flat trajectory out of the barrel but was already starting to go nose-up when it struck the plate (trying to keyhole). The .30-06 had a normal trajectory when it hit the plate. Hakim barrel is shot out.

I'm amazed that the two Lvl 4 Armor Republic plates actually stopped the BMG 50 round. Altho had the second plate had been strapped directly to the torso, I suspect the torso would see severe concussion and internal damage. The 50 packs some SERIOUS punch!
That buckshot shot was incredible! Welcome back to the new normal and thanks for the hard work! Is the Fat Electrician going to be a guest with a list of historical things he wants to test??? 💪🏻💪🏻
Adam, you're looking great, man! I know it's been a helluva recovery and you might not be done, but from this view it seems like things are going well.
Ceramic plates are crazy, I've seen Scott from Kentucky Ballistics do videos where he shot them with his 4 bore and they stopped the round, all be it the energy dragged the plate through the dummy's chest anyway. That kind of shot would be amazing to see with your level of high speed imo.
Yes ceramic is the best but don't support that company armored republic. I use to work for them and they are horrible people running that place. The higher ups treat the employees like absolute shit. The owner is married to the safety managers ex wife. And he has the safety managers kids call him dad. And they claim to be Christian but they are far from that. They are huge money grabbers. And they're bigger on quantity over quality. I work for tyr tactical now and they are a way better company. AR is just filled with horrible people running that place.
You need a pressure plate behind to record the foot lbs of impact from the rounds, Some of those hits would be possibly fatal despite the lack of penetration
All the nerd stats in each slow-mo is highly appreciated.... Thank you. 😁👍 I feel like if the 50bmg shot had the plates stacked it might have punched through both... That was such an awesome shot. ❤️
I'd like to see how that plate would perform if you'd put it through some firing drills, or just quick fire succession (like Bill Drill, or something similar) with different types of ammo (5.56 or .223 FMJ/AP rounds and compare effectivness, and then compare to steel plate, cause at some point ceramic will just give up, and steel you really have to go through. Interesting video. Thanks.
Its impressive that the camera can image the supersonic shock cone from the bullets so clearly. A few of those hits turned a fatal shot into getting the wind knocked out of ya, but you'll live.😮
I wonder the stats on how many soldiers take multiple rounds to a plate in combat. If most of the time it’s 1 then ceramic is probably best. I knew a guy that got like 3 rounds in his plate during a firefight. Guess I’ll need to ask him if he had steel or ceramic since whatever it was worked.
With the NATO rounds, many 5.56 rifles have a 3 round burst mode. Would have been interesting to see how the armor copes with that. As you pointed out theres a risk of cracking the plate by simply dropping it, im curious if 3 rapid impacts would have same effect
If a plate is NIJ certified it will not crack from dropping, all plates certified by the NIJ have to DROP TESTED from 6.56 feet. Most ceramic armor now a-days, even cheap ones, are multi-hit rated meaning they must stop multiple hits. Burst wouldn't give any major differing results if that is the case with this plate.

16:08 I love how the plate looks like it is staying in exactly the same plate, transferring the energy into the dummy, but not moving itself
Great sound effects Adam
Awesome Camera Work, Like usual. Best High Speed out There👊
one of the few channels that get better with every episode! thanks for the amazing content!
I'm amazed that the two Lvl 4 Armor Republic plates actually stopped the BMG 50 round. Altho had the second plate had been strapped directly to the torso, I suspect the torso would see severe concussion and internal damage. The 50 packs some SERIOUS punch!
9:31 that sounds 🤯
That buckshot shot was incredible! Welcome back to the new normal and thanks for the hard work! Is the Fat Electrician going to be a guest with a list of historical things he wants to test??? 💪🏻💪🏻
Stay tuned ;)
The enjoyability of watching the show is getting better and better. good job
As a Hakim owner, I want to add a special Thank You for the muzzle footage. Made my day to see that firearm in action!
What a great channel, thank you so much for the high quality slo-mo video. Best.
Put the slo-mo in loop on big screens in a Gallery... _Now that's ART!_
Great video, guys. It looked like the 8mm bullet was yawing a little bit at impact, whereas the 30-06 entered the plate straight on.
Your slow mo it so good it just keeps getting better and better ❤❤❤❤❤
Adam, you're looking great, man! I know it's been a helluva recovery and you might not be done, but from this view it seems like things are going well.
Ceramic plates are crazy, I've seen Scott from Kentucky Ballistics do videos where he shot them with his 4 bore and they stopped the round, all be it the energy dragged the plate through the dummy's chest anyway.
That kind of shot would be amazing to see with your level of high speed imo.
Man, the first plate reduced the 50's energy by exactly half, so the second plate was exactly enough to stop it. Awesome!
This is by far the most action packed slow motion video on youtube. Incredible
Level IV Armor: I can stop an armor piercing 30.06 round! What are you gonna do with your measly shotgun?
12 ga slug: ha, sternum goes bye-bye.
You need a pressure plate behind to record the foot lbs of impact from the rounds, Some of those hits would be possibly fatal despite the lack of penetration
All the nerd stats in each slow-mo is highly appreciated.... Thank you. 😁👍
I feel like if the 50bmg shot had the plates stacked it might have punched through both... That was such an awesome shot. ❤️
Good to see you back out there again Adam.
Awesome video and glad to see you're healing up quite well. Wrist looks good!
Best channel on RUclips! So glad to see Adam is doing great!
Dude, this channel just keeps getting better and better.❤
Incredible content you guys put out. Great job at setting the bar higher for firearms content😎🤘🏼🇺🇸 #BigFan
Thanks so much!
The shotgun slowmo buckshot is crazy 4:50
I wonder the stats on how many soldiers take multiple rounds to a plate in combat. If most of the time it’s 1 then ceramic is probably best. I knew a guy that got like 3 rounds in his plate during a firefight. Guess I’ll need to ask him if he had steel or ceramic since whatever it was worked.
The intro was really good for this video! Got me nice and rizzed up.
Burst wouldn't give any major differing results if that is the case with this plate.
love how adams so ready to git back into it, makin jokes about what happened, cant let things git ya down, up an adam is the way to go, love watchin yall, love what ya do keep it up, maybe someday git a chance to send some rounds down range someday
Adam bruh you are killing it! Back in action like nothing happened. "its alot more fun when Im not that guu" Bruh XD
Scott's (from Kentucky Ballistics) neck must be itching right now 😂
LOVE this channel!!
