I stood against him because the thought of Sumire pretending to be her actual dead sister really grossed me out.

He meant well, but we can't live by just running away from anything we're afraid of. And he didn't give them a choice in it all. He truly believed what he did was for their own good, but it was just him stroking his own ego in the end, believing he knew what was best for everyone else.
Against, his ideals and goals are good but his methods are too extreme

I play this every time I lose someone I love just to cry
It was hard trying not to cry upon hearing this the first time on the way to a train station. It made me realise that, somehow, I feel emotionally attached to these characters having not even played P5R.
Then that got me thinking back to probably the saddest moment I’ve had in recent memory, saying goodbye to all my friends over two days due to the school closure announcement.
I suppose the best part about this song is that final chorus, from the regular to an opposite starting line. It’s glorious, and now I’m feeling sad again after typing out this reply over the course of the entire song.

The subtle change from the original lyrics in the verses is so interesting, because it takes the Character who's perspective this is in (vague to avoid spoilers) to be less Passive and Offering and more Demanding. It goes from like "people tend to be sensitive to the new ways" to "dont worry about the new ways" and it gives such a subtle but distinct shift. I'm picky about lyrics being changed but I feel like this change didnt really change quality. Like I cant complain bc even tho its different, its Just as Good
I'm glad someone else noticed and felt the same about these lyric changes! I actually still feel so weird about the "no more tears shall drop from your cheeks anymore" to "fall from your eyes anymore" change tho. I don't seem to see any particular reason for that line to change and it always throws me off when I'm listening to it and kind of takes me out of the song. 😅 I'm more curious as to whether or not there IS a particular reason that line was changed in that way 🤔
That and “The beliefs I had my faith in” to “really glad I had my faith in” makes me think he succeeded and this is sort of like a reprise. Now that he’s won, he’s done fighting and is gonna force his plan on the thieves and everyone else

If you just read the lyrics you'd think that this is a very uplifting song. But when combined with the actual song and context. It honestly gives a feeling of defeat and just sorrow. Just this gigantic Godlike being standing in front of you taking no damage from your attacks and beating the shit out of you. It feels hopeless.
If I didn't know the content, I would actually think it's okay to take a pause from achieving your dream.
But knowing the game content, I kept thinking 'give up your dreams annd trust Adam Kadmon-'

it's likely that they've edited the art to have it in moveable pieces, and then animated it like this using live2d! (or yknow something like it)
probably adobe after affects, you can search up tutorials on doing it in that program

Not sure what you're talking about since the whole meaning of the chorus is reversed. She sings "don't sleep through dreams that can't come true" whereas the original versions says "don't sleep through dreams that CAN come true."

I'm guessing this was started just after the game released or at least when this song was released in order to be timely, and they probably didn't have official lyrics to go off of. Lynn is a beautiful singer, but her pronunciation can be...hard to decipher. Other channels have had similar issues when making covers of P5 songs, I think it was Caleb Hyles who had "I'm not a robot AND I'M challenging you" instead of "AI challenging you", and its not like he doesnt care about the quality of his covers.

A Friend of mine came up with the idea of making our group personas. It was pretty cool and the personas ended up being really cool. We know the lore, the "gods", skills, abilitys, Stats, reason why this one, the speak from the persona, our thieves outfit and equip and codenames. Still working on the first form personas though xD

If this was in a musical adaptation of Persona 5 Royal, it would probably be the reprise of the version played in the earlier half of Act Two. (Minor Spoilers ahead, brace yourselves.)The song would be called Throw away your mask (Act Two Reprise). The song is sung from the phantom thieves perspective. The song is sung by the phantom thieves as a full group during the chorus and it is sung by one member of the thieves at a time during the verse. But this time, they're singing against Dr. Maruki, not the other way around. This version is more of their way of saying "You can't just hide behind your own mistakes and claim your own reality is constantly perfect in every way."
Just finished Royal a couple days ago and this song along with what is going on around you is incredible.

Great cover, Milady ;) Like some others here have said, the change in tone compared with the original, along with that creepy ass Joker in the background really paint this song in a darker light. Can someone explain the opening line of the refrain, though? "Don't sleep through dreams that can't come true"... is Maruki telling them that their hopes for the future are wasted on the real world, or is he telling them to seize the opportunity to live out their dreams? In the end, the message is the same, but I can't decide between the two.
Its a little late but he's basically saying don't try and reach for dreams that are hard to obtain because he believes it would bring only suffering he would rather you strive for a dream that you don't have to suffer for and still be happy
