Deciding the number is not necessary, if you are having a large data set then yes you need a number to reduce the paper...

Sir, i have taken a dataset from scopus but in the vos viewer only analysis type of co-authorship and co occurence is coming. please suggest any solution

Sir, vos viewer takes data of only scopus, web of science and pubmed? our university has access of only Proquest. how can we take data from proquest. and when i extract data from proquest it doesnt include citation information. plz help me

proquest will not of good help in this case.
You can use Publish or Perish (POP), see other videos on the same channel.

Sir only co authorship and author turned on and other options are turned off I don't know what's the problem
While downloading the file form WOS/Scopus you might have not selected all the information.
Sir when I am using vosviewer, on creation of map, in the type of analysis only co-authorship option is working. (co-occurence, citation, bibliographic coupling, co-citation is not working). please suggest me what to do.
You have not exported your data well... While exporting it select all the options... All the best...
@@rsinghkaurav Thank you so much sir. I have one more doubt. There is a limit for collecting data from web of science or scopus of 500 and 2000 at once. But i am confused how to use data of approx 5000 articles in Vosviewer at one time. Please suggest me.
@@jyotijyoti1008 You can download in different pieces, i.e. 1st file with entry 1-500, and 2nd file with 501 to 1000, and then you can merge these files...

Sir, I am encountering a problem while choosing the type of analysis where I could able to use two options only out of 5 and the rest of the options such as citation, bibliographic coupling, co-citation are hiding. Can you please tell me what went wrong and how can I overcome this problem of option hiding?
Here you have to export the the data using all information. The functions get activated, only when they have data for it.
The data source is important. When you get data from WoS .. get Tab-delimited with all information. You probably downloaded 5K option. In this option you get limited data.

Vikram, these are the *.txt, *.csv, and tab debilitated file. Which are generally exported by WOS or SCOPUS.

Sir when i upoad my excel sheet for the bibilometric data it shows the filr is invalid. How can i sove this problem?
I have worked on a publication involving bibliometric analysis, which is stuck with a query.
The editor has asked to prepare the figures (author and country network maps) following English grammatical rules, i.e. to capitalize the initials of names of authors and countries.
However, since the figures are software generated, I have not been able to resolve the query.
I downloaded the data from the Scopus Core Collection and used vosviewer for performing bibliometric analysis.
Can somebody help in resolving the query for capitalizing the initials of author and country names.

yes, you can... you need to export *.ris file from Mendeley

Yes you can, but that needs a lot of preparation.
Use Zotero or mendeley to upload them from a folder, then export bibliographic data to CSV file then use that csv in VoS. It will not take much time than half an hour I guess!

Degree of collaboration and Network visualization are different things. Ofcourse you can save as a file and analize it. Better get DC with simple table from your data

Yes you can.... But interpretation will be challenging and you have to refer more papers. Plz visit ISSI site and download proceedings. yes... in one file you get so many scientometric papers freely

@@geetusharma3080 Go to file, click on save, and save the VOSviewer map file in text format. later you can open it in Excel.

You can select multiple files... but they should with same extension

Countries means The Authors collaborated with different countries where as Organizations will show the collaborated papers within the affiliations. The "author" is hidden element in both :)

Sir is there an option for getting annual growth of publications in visviewer. Or to know in which year more papers were published?
VoS Viewer is only visualizer application. For annual growth you need data from different sources ex: WoS or Scival ... etc.

Hello Shubhangi, you can add a separate chapter or in the chapter of the literature review. Focusing on the importance of your subject area, theme or domain.
