After doing years of colour-work, I would recommend putting a stitch marker after each pattern repeat in the round. It really helps with the stitch count and you can usually catch mistakes quickly. In addition, if the colour work pattern is complicated, put in a life line every 5 to 10 rows. Your sweater is amazing and good luck with you next colour-work project. Cheers-Laura
Thank you for all your tips, I'll remember them until next time!!
Great advice. Thanks for sharing!
What is a lifeline?
@@HeidiAndScots Hi, a life line is a thread/piece of different coloured yarn that you string through your stitches one one row with a darning needle, and do this for each pattern repeat. If you make a mistake, you can frog the stitches to the life line and not lose stitches. After you finish the project, you can pull out the life lines.
I love these videos where you show us start to finish on a sweater. It’s really encouraging to watch. I also like how you pop in to tell us your thoughts as your making it. It definitely helps me to realize I’m not the only one who makes mistakes and has to frog or get to a weird or tough part in a pattern and slows down to figure it out. Thank you for these great videos and please keep making them! They are awesome!
Thank you so much! They are my favorite to film too! I really enjoy taking breaks from knitting to sit down and take time to reflect! It's been a great addition to my crafting process🥰
As a fourteen year old danish girl, who just got into knitting, I love your videos since they give me sense of home, from the Scandinavian lifestyle, but also help me a lot. Please don't stop making videos, and that sweater Is absolutely gorgeous!!
This makes me so happy to hear🥹🥰 Thank you!
The sweater is absolutely breathtaking! I can't believe you knit it in basically less than 2 weeks. I just finished a colorwork sweater that took me 3 MONTHS.
Thank you! The stripes with just white definitely sped things up😅
Your sweater is gorgeous!! I love the blue edging on the hem and sleeves. The fit is wonderful, I'm impressed especially with no swatch😊
Thank you! I'm so pleased with how the edges turned out! I'm really happy my tension was the same in colorwork and with just one color! This won't be my last colorwork project!
Lovely work! Using stitch markers for colour work can be super efficient and helps avoid a lot of mistakes, recounting time, and frogging. I load my needles up with them, and it makes TV viewing particularly much more productive.
Thank you for the tip! I'll have to look into getting stitch markers because I love to knit and watch TV😂
Love your finished sweater, it;'s so beautiful ! I also loved seeing all the family time too , your son's reaction to Santa was priceless, so cute !!
Thank you💙🤍 Christmas this year was so fun. It's the first year my son totally understood what was going on🥰
Your work is amazing! I love your personality and energy. Such a lovely young lady. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much!
I think the porcelain sweater is your most beautiful! You look GORGEOUS! Great job. I now want to knit it. I considered it before, but seeing yours makes me know I’m going to knit it.
Thank you so much!! I think it is, too. I'm absolutely in love with it🥰 I can't recommend knitting it up enough, great pattern, great results!
looking at someone cast on stitches "old-style" like ou is so smoothing. love your videos and new year mood, thank you
Thank you💙🤍
Turned out so great!!
I also really enjoyed seeing the beautiful sunsets and some of your home vlogging of your activities :)
Thank you!! I love the sunsets we've been getting this winter!
I wish for you to find a way to be at ease with all your knitting. You’re so skilled and dedicated, there’s really no need to worry about any pattern. One stitch at a time! I’ve put Porcelain on my list, and I’ll copy you to put the blue in the hems. 🧶 💗
Thank you! I'm working towards it🥰
I'm glad you liked the blue edges💙🤍
Beautiful ❤
Your darling, your bangs are darling your family is darling and your sweater turned out amazing!
Thank you so much🥰🫶🏻
Свитер потрясающий. Очень красивая работа
Thank you!
Your Porcelain Sweater is absolutely stunning 💙🤍
Thank you so much🥰
Your gorgeous sweater has inspsired me to knit one for myself using the identical colors. Thank you.
Yay! Good luck💙🤍
Superb design and excellent knitting
Thank you🫶🏻
You did a wonderful job knitting your sweater.
Thank you❄️
Oh my god that sweater looks absolutely stunning!
Thank you💙🤍
Loved your knitting Porcelain sweater project - it’s gorgeous! I am now inspired to knit my own. Thanks for sharing your family activities during the holidays especially the ski day. So heartwarming! 🤗
Thank you❤️ I really recommend this sweater. It was such a fun knit!
Beautiful jumper, you knitted it so quickly. Using stitch markers Is a total game changer. It makes it so much easier, much less counting, less frogging xxx
Thank you!! Next time I do colorwork I'm going to try using stitch markers🥰
Just so beautiful! I love your vlogs so much and all of the scenes of your family and your life that you include. Your son is precious. I also love watching you knit up close, because I am an English knitter and watching you do colorwork with Continental knitting is fascinating to me. I am really looking forward to seeing your future colorwork projects!
Thank you so much! I feel the same way watching English knitters!
Beautiful!!!! Loved this video!!! Family fun and knitting!!! Perfect!!
Thank you💙🤍
yes, I am also imitated by this pattern (because of flat colorwork) and been looking for a Knit-with-me for some weeks. Now RUclips suggested your video. YAAAAY Thank you! I will cast on soon, probably also with Drops Flora + Kid Silk.
Thanks so much for all the info about yarn used, colors, and size. It really helps me out! Have a great day :))
Best from Germany!
I was intimidated for months because of the flat colorwork! But it was nowhere near as hard as I had built it up to be in my head!
I hope you find my video helpful🥰
This is so beautiful!!! Videos like this really make me want to get back into knitting.
Thank you💙🤍
Beautiful sweater, Oline. Well done. I've never done colour work myself before, but now I'm tempted 😊
Thank you so much🫶🏻 It's a great pattern, a bit challenging as well, but I'd really recommend it!
I am blown away by the perfection of your pattern alignment from body to sleeves as shown at 27:42 - how did you figure that out? All of this sweater is a treasure and all of it is inspiring, but seeing just that one small detail says to me that you really created this with love and intention and I would love to hear more how you determine the pattern placement when working on the sleeves.
Thank you🫶🏻 Most of the credit has to be given to the pattern designer! It's a really well thought out pattern and made so the colorwork on the body and sleeves should align.
I tried it on a few times just when starting the sleeve and doing the first white stripe to make sure it would align perfectly with my specific shoulder width (broader shoulders = longer white stripe at beginning of sleeve, and narrow shoulder = shorter)🥰
@@norwegianknitter Appreciate this reply so much. It is encouraging to hear that this gorgeous end result had important test points, and that you can determine by trying on how to make the optimal placement choice even if the pattern has the intelligence built in. It reminds me to be patient and exploratory.
@@andreamiller6200 I'm glad it was helpful🫶🏻🥰
Give yourself some grace…you are a mom and a knitter and doing so many things! Even I as a single gal find it hard to get time to knit as much as I want so it takes me a while to finish projects. Beautiful sweater, congrats on finishing so quick 😍😍
Thank you🥰 It's a work in progress to learn to not set my expectations to high of how much knitting time I'll get in a day😅
@@norwegianknitter it’s so hard 😭 This video is also lowkey an advertisement for tourism / relocation to live in Norway! Looks like a knitters dream
@crafternoonknits So hard!! I must say it is a knitters dream! But it's also cold haha. You win some, you lose some😅
@@norwegianknitter cold can be nice bc you can actually wear your knits…I live in New Mexico (USA) where it’s hot AF so I can only wear my wool sweaters for a few months out of the year 🥲🥲🥲
True🥲
It's lovely! That little detail of the blue on the hem and cuffs is really elegant. I've only ever done 1 stranded colourwork once but I hope to one day have the courage to make this beautiful sweater. Thanbks for sharing your project with us.
Thank you so much! I'm really happy I did the blue edges to make it more mine🥰 I really recommend this project!!
I'm a crocheter getting into knitting and I'm halfway through my first flat project (basic blanket worked in strips). This sweater gives me the motivation to continue my knitting journey. It is so beautiful and I hope to be able to make something like this someday!
Good luck on your journey with knitting!! I hope you'll have so much fun learning and making new things❤️ I belive in you!
Your work is beautiful, such a lovely jumper, well done. 😊🎉
Thank you so much💙🤍
Beautiful sweater! when i do two colors, i have a little ring with two hooks. it helps to get the right tension and makes the process way easier...
Thank you! That's a good idea! It got easier with practice, but I'm sure a ring like that would make it all easier
Such a stunning jumper.
It really is!!
Sweater is gorgeous!! You are an amazing young knitter. Love your videos. Thinking to make that sweater now, looks so good on you. Your son is so cute!
Thank you so much! It's a great sweater to make, I highly recommend it!!
I found your channel a few days ago and saw you wearing this sweater. I LOVE it and had to purchase the pattern, but I am incredibly intimidated by it because I‘ve never done actual colour work although I‘ve been knitting for about twenty years now… 🙈 Your video is motivating me to finally give it a try. I really enjoy yor vlogs and knit-with-me‘s. Greetings from Germany!
Hi! Welcome! The Porcelain Sweater intimidated me for months and months, but once I actually started, it wasn't nearly as hard as I'd thought it would be🥰 If you need any help, don't hesitate to ask❤️
Thank you! 😊
Your sweater is absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you so much!!
Love the finished product! This sweater has been on my to-knit list for a while. Not sure if I'll get to it this winter, because I've already done a couple smaller colorwork projects and I'm itching to do something with texture, but I enjoyed watching your process! It came out beautifully!
Thank you!! It was in my to-knit list a while before I got around to knitting it as well😅 Happy knitting!!
Beautiful sweater, Oline!
Thank you!
This sweater is beautiful!! And I enjoy watching the beautiful place you live, too. I was very suprised to see your happy family - I thought you were a teenage girl 🙂
Thank you! I'm 21, so not to far of being a teenager😅🥰
Beautiful! Great work!
Thank you!
Wow . Your sweater turned out so stunning 😍. It's so beautiful. Well done 👏
Thank you so much❤️
Hi! This is amazing, beautiful work. I don’t knit but you made this look so easy (I know it’s not). Beautiful sweater, great work!
Thank you so much!

❤❤❤You did a marvelous job on your sweater! I love it! I so want to make this!
Thank you❤️ You really should make it, it's a great knit!
Piękny sweter. Podziwiam Ciebie. 😊🧶🌹
Thank you so much!!
Wow its gorgeous would love to knit this sweater 😍
It's my favorite thing I've ever knit!! You should make one!
Can't wait to watch this through! The thumbnail is so amazing 😍 I'm so glad that you've knitted something for yourself. I rarely knit or crochet for myself. I can take some advice from you on this 🫡
I also often skip swatching 😂 I do not have time for such things. If the project is super oversized then that is okay with me anyway!
Thank you so much! I never have time to swatch. I just want to cast on and get going😅🙈
Beautiful ❤
Thank you🤍💙
What a beautiful family you have!
Thank you❤️
This video is amazing ❤ this pattern has been on my wish list since it came out. I am scared of color work, but your video has really encouraged me. Once i knit up my sweater quantities of yarn, i will buy the yarn for this and go for it! Thank you!❤🎉 you did an amazing job on your sweater it is absolutely stunning 😍
Thank you❤️ I'm rooting for you! I was also scared of the colorwork, but I had built it up in my head to be way harder than it actually was🥰
beautiful! 💙🤍
Thank you🤍💙
Hello Oline! Just found your channel and I’m really enjoying your videos! I mostly do crochet but you inspired me to do more knitting!😊 the sweater looks gorgeous!
Hii! Thank you❤️ I hope you'll have a lot of fun with knitting! This is hands down the sweater I'm the most proud of having made🥰
Gorgeous!
Thank you!
Sei bravissima ♥️🙌
Thank you❤️
That's sooooo good
Thank you💙🥹
Hello from Spain, love your job. I have to try it. Love the color. ❤🧦🧶🧶🧶
Thank you❤️❤️
Lovely sweater
Thank you❤️
Så snygg 👏 👏
Tusen takk!!
😃ce pull est vraiment merveilleux 👍💖
Thank you🥰
I love the idea of making fire out side in the winter and spend time with family and friends. At my place i can only do grill and fire like yours is forbiden :(
Oh no, that sucks!! In Norway we have a general rule agains fires from 15th of April until 15th of September (because of forrest fires) other than that we are free to make fires luckily. Without it we could not be outside as much😅
Like you do it,be happy and teach us how it works. Also how can i buy your wool?
Have a greate year
It’s gorgeous! Your work is amazing! Do you block your sweaters? It’s a perfect fit! I think your blue ends on the ribbings look great!
Thank you so much! I usually block my knits, but as I finished this on the way to a friend I did noy block it before I started wearing it. So the end result in this video is it unblocked❤️ Im so happy with the blue edges!
Gorgeous. Now what can you make to be as lovely as that sweater ?
Thank you! That is the question🤔 I'm planning on knitting my wedding dress this year, hopefully that will be the prettiest thing I ever make🫶🏻
Hi! I found the pattern for this sweater on the Ravelry. If there will be a step-by-step youtube guide or not? Because without a video, I definitely won't knit such a sweater😢
@dr.tsukino3665 Hi! The designer has not made a step-by-step youtube guide, but there are videos on RUclips showing all the different techniques🥰
@@norwegianknitter Thank you❤️🤗
👍very nice
Thank you❤️
marbeles, wonderfull color wich dress you very well. ❤😊
Did you use always to strengts of yarn? Greatings from berlin, germany
Hi! Thank you so much! Im not sure I quite understand your question?
I love the porcelain sweater!
I am currently knitting the sonja sweater by petite knit and I am on the first section the back yoke but the edges are curling up with the stockinette stitch. I was wondering if that will flatten as I knit the whole jumper?
Thank you!
I've not knit the Sonja sweater (yet😅) but sweaters that start with the back yoke usually curl for me too. But the problem goes away when you start picking up stitches for all the other parts of the sweater!
@@norwegianknitter thank you😊
so Norwegian Kids are actually born on skis 😊
Haha, they really are!
Your son is just so adorable!! I have never done colorwork although I've been knitting 50 years. Porcelain sweater is so pretty that I might have to try it. Is the pattern written well enough for an experienced knitter but inexperienced in colorwork?❤❤
Thank you!! I'd say the pattern is well written enough for it to be your first colorwork project!
I turn out so beautiful🫶🏼 I’m knitting the sweater too, I wanted to ask with “break the yarn” I just have to cut the yarn or do something else?
Thank you so much🫶🏻 Yes, break the yarn means to just cut it!
Beautiful knit vlog 💙🤍💙🤍 and amazing landscapes 😻😻! Thank you for the sharing but I think you cut too much your hair 😹😹 What is your next project? Red summer knit? 😻❤
Thank you🤍💙 The hair will grow out😂 I'm still trying to finish last year's Christmas gifts😅 and then I'm going to knit my wedding dress!!
I want this life
🥹🥰
Do you have any advice about the make the left shoulder German short rows I am stuck Ava frustrated
I reallt want to knit this but I'm not sure how I feel about the drop shoulder
I really like the drop shoulder as it makes the colorwork on the sleeves and body line up with each other. But it really depends on it you feel comfortable in a drop shoulder sweater❤️
Love your sweater 💙🧶💫 what, you haven’t learned to knit while skiing yet ? Haha just kidding
Thank you💙🫶🏻 I did consider it, but it also just to cold outside😂🙈
@@norwegianknitter maybe spring skiing ⛷🌿☀️🧶💫 😁
❤❤❤
💙🤍
So beautiful I love it, I love to try , love the colors, you are very sweet, from California
Thank you so much!❤️
You’re beautiful 😊
Thank youu🥰
How can i get thé pattern?
I got the pattern from the designers website:
leknit.com/shop/porcelain-sweater-english-607p.html
But you could also get it from Ravelry
I love this but as a beginner it terrifies me 😅
Totally understandable!! It looks more intimidating and hard than it is😅🥰
😍😍👌
💙🤍
I sill recoment to put your middlefinger between the to treeds, that will give a natural space on your finger that holds your yarn.
And just remember to have the two yarns on the same position
@@louiseholsthansen4981 I did start putting my middlefinger between the two diffrent colors after a while! What a game changer! I feel I learned a lot about colorwork and technique from this project. The only thing I knew going it was to keep the yarns in the same position for the whole sweater
