    Gonna take Obsidian to a whole new level with this. Make a big ole fightstick out of a slab of obsidian with a matching balltop.

      @@HushMySweet1 Luckily the sprue from the molding process helps me line it up a bit in my jig but it's still hard to make sure the ball is perfectly straight up and down. I use the seam around the side to try and line it up further so it's perpendicular to the jig surface. I'm also somewhere in the 300s made so, a bit of practice never hurts.

    It goes the opposite way of my modding journey though, as i went for the lightest and fastest joystick combination possible (30mm balltop, aluminium shaft, 50g actuation force microswitches, 1.5lb spring), especially the prevent wrist pain/fatigue. I also dislike the hardness of the balltop, i'd get a rubber one if i could find. Your rock balltops look beautiful though!

      @@HushMySweet1 I think a full clear plexi build with art inserts for top, sides, and bottom? Purple and orange kinda go together too so you can use both Dino and/or Fred as the central design (Fred's shirt pattern as a background would be sick!). Or,, as a completely wild but obviously impractical idea, a box made of concrete to really drive home a Bedrock theme. 😂

    Hold up! A 15lb Spring exists? Big bet that is for the Happ/IL players who really are just used to heavy levers. 😅
    Maybe do an Indiana Jones themed stick with those stones? 🤔

    • @HushMySweet1
      @HushMySweet1  Год назад

      That's what I said! 15 pounds is stupid crazy. Like, I was legit nervous with it on my lap. If the e-clip curled up, that actuator would launch at roughly 200 mph into my leg. But yeah, an Indy stick could be sick. I'll think about it!

  • @o0mrrobot0o26

    15lbs?? Man, I thought 4lbs was too much... I prefer 2.5lb-3lb myself.

    • @HushMySweet1
      @HushMySweet1  Год назад +1

      Yeah, .09, 2, and even 3 can work, but I never go higher in my own sticks. So it's crazy to see 15 (and even 6, really). That's got to be for a super small market of players, lol.

  • @garrickgreathouse
    @garrickgreathouse Год назад +1

    Can you give us a pricing ballpark for something like this?

    • @HushMySweet1
      @HushMySweet1  Год назад

      The stone spheres were sourced for like $10-15 per, depending on the rock type. Then, probably not more than $20 to build or 3d print a jig. Then, inserts, epoxy, and diamond bits are all marginal costs once you're up and going and have bought in bulk (and you're committed to building out at least a half dozen of these things). Sell one or two for $40 each and you've made your costs back so the next three or so would be pure profit (just your time/labor). So yeah, if you were building and selling yourself, I think $40 shipped would be reasonable for all parties. Make weights and rock types very clear so people knew what to expect when they ordered. Some of the stone types seemed better suited to becoming balltops than others. Maybe ~$30 for a B grade one where you were learning and the center was just slightly off. I guess that's where I'd start with the pricing structure. Good luck if you decide to build some!

    • @garrickgreathouse
      @garrickgreathouse Год назад

      @@HushMySweet1 Let us know if one of the custom makers starts taking orders for these things then. I could see myself buying one.

    They look so cool! Will they fit the new Sanwa JLX?

    • @HushMySweet1
      @HushMySweet1  Год назад +1

      I haven't seen one in-person yet to check, but I would assume they were still using the same threads as their past iterations. So I'm gonna say 99% yes. (And even if they changed threads for some reason, we could just install the corresponding insert to guarantee the fit.) So yes! And thanks for watching!

    • @Tangaxuan
      @Tangaxuan Год назад

      @@HushMySweet1 Yeah, I agree with your reasoning. With all of the accessories currently available to their sticks, it would be silly to come out with a different measurement without rhyme or reason. I'm considering the JLX because I churn the butter a ton and there's a lot of play on my Jlf. Question, does play on the jlf warrant maintenance/replacement? It doesnt really affect gameplay at all as it doesnt hit the actuators, but I'd like to know what you think of it.

    • @HushMySweet1
      @HushMySweet1  Год назад +1

      @@Tangaxuan How much play? If it's just a stock, well worn spring giving up the ghost, those can get a bit sloppy for some. If it doesn't affect gameplay and the overall feel hasn't really changed or bother you, then it's all good. I usually replace the springs if they go that far, but I have kept one in one of my sticks just to remind me what 10K matches can do to a lever.

    Hey, I'm exhausting all paths to ask this xd. Do you have any idea if you can fit LEDs from a neopixel strip into Qanba Gravity KS? I'm using a guide with Raspberry Pi Pico I found on Reddit and I don't see how to fit the LEDs into the buttons with all the cables they need.

    • @HushMySweet1
      @HushMySweet1  Год назад

      Hmmm...I'm not super familiar with those components. This is just an LED strip you're connecting to the PCB or something? You can lay that inside the case and if the buttons have transparent/translucent rims, the glow will shine through. Otherwise I'm not quite understanding. Good luck with your project!

    • @FernandoMartinez-zh6jz
      @FernandoMartinez-zh6jz Год назад

      @@HushMySweet1 The idea would be to cut 12 LEDs and put them inside the buttons. I already saw that people use some kind of 3D printed holder inside the button and they glue the LEDs with hot glue. Then cables are soldered and connect all 12 LEDs to the Raspberry Pico and that connects to the UFB. I can't find any holder model for that button so I'm just abandoning the idea and hoping they release the Qanba Q8 Gravity KS RGB buttons to buy on their own. Hopefully not too far into the future.
