In 2022 , we are probably as far away in time from CDs and computer discs as this gentleman was from Regina discs back when this video was shot.
umm no
I love those old-fashioned music boxes, they're beautiful and very sound great.
That was very interesting. What at first appears to be old, out-dated technology, is in effect, an early form of today's digital media. Even more impressive is that they still work! Thank you for sharing.
We take things for granted these days. It's just too easy.
So good, those music disc have already out lived CD's, great acoustic's and vibrations, Thanks Deane and Curiosity team.
The big old one sounded really nice at the end, and I guess unlike the Compact Disk, this one does not need electric power or batteries to run. Same as the old Gramophone's
This is really calming
Thank you for uploading this footage
Wow that last one had so much character. You could even hear the resonance when he opened the drawer below
I knew of the toy ones but didn't even think about the larger ones before, that's awesome, definitely the precursors....
I LOVE all of your phonographs and music boxes, i collect both antique gramophones and music boxes, clocks, vases typewriters and much much more. amazing things! would be a sin to compare these items to things today .
Yeah! As you mentioned it the first music box was made in 1770, The Circa music boxes were made in 1860s, The Reuge music boxes were made in 1886, The Thorens music boxes was made in 1883, The Sankyo music boxes were made in 1946 and Yunsheng music boxes were made in 1990s.
In case there are a lot of note types of the music boxes as I mentioned it long time ago. There is thousands of music boxes tunes and we can hear every tune the song plays on a music box.
The music box company created a note pitch, like Flats, Naturals and Sharps.
I was half-expecting that Sousa disk at the end to play the Monty Python theme.
I guess you could say it was something completely different... :P
That would be the Liberty Bell, rather than the Washington Post.
Always fun to learn something interesting from this amazing channel
Marvelous technology. In a way , indeed ,it is similar to modern digital technology but only more beautiful. Thank you for sharing .
Wow that sounds amazing - you were right!
idk how i ended up here but i love this
Wow first time I heard sound of music box feeling blessed
Love the sound
This was such a wonderful video. Thank you for sharing this.
4:33 a Sousa the Washington post March
Polyphons are my absolute favourite!!💞There’s a pub a few miles away from me called the Yew Tree inn. The landlord has loads of these on display and anyone can play them. Just ask the landlord to wind them up first and have a pile of 10p coins ready. Exquisitely beautiful to listen to and my absolute favourite pub to visit☺️🍻🎶🎵💞💞💞
Damn anyone know the name of that lil toe tapper @the end of the show 😂🤷🏻♂️
Cool stuff
Deane without a mustache
2:00 There are Music Boxes as Small as Match Boxes well this one is in a Match Box see if you know what piece this is.
Would have been funny if someone made a music box rendition of never going to give You up and played that over the sound.
Is this not a 100% energy transfer device. The energy you put into winding the spring gets converted to sound and motion of the wheel.. so is this not a energy device with next to perfect transfer of energy if not amplifying the energy?!

Not really, as with any mechanical device, some of it will be lost to friction and turn into heat.
bruh that wasn't the point of the whole thing
1:54 this sounds creepy ngl are these children ghosts nowadays?
5:47 It's the Monty Python theme!
Also two sound I remember from childhood games are in this
2:59 I've listened to this, looks familiar
Hey Guy, cool,
5:50 what song it sounds familiar
It's a song from Carmen i think
Bomb squad
Washington Post March (Sousa)
2:08 he just got a copyright strike
Congratulation
Wow
When last did you see a music box? Wow
I was onboard until he pulled out a huge metal orb and said it was similar to a digital cd
Gooday mate lol
pero es cierto
⚘️💖
I SAW THE DISK AND I THOUGHT OF
scratching
So they're like cymbals then?
is this guy the younger michael rosen?
After all the buildup of the clip beginning at around 2:36 imagine my disappointment when not a note of the music box is heard. Was it really that bad that we have to listen to some other music box playing one of the most overused music box tunes ever? Other than that, still a rather interesting piece.
I can simply wonder about technical advancement and craftsmanship of Europeans.
2 people prefer analog music I guess?? :/
89horizon no, i think people dislike the video because it plays background music instead of what is actually being played in the video.
he sounds like micheal rosen
It's pretty laggy but despite that it's good
