Lenny the philosopher. It all came out in his beautiful playing. Brilliant!

“…man, if I ever had to change a light bulb, I’d be dead.”
How deep did Lenny dive into his art? He’s come and gone. I met him once. I shook his hand. The next thing I knew was that he had left us. I’m consoled by the fact that his music and his unconditional love for the guitar has brought me and still brings me more joy than his passing brings me grief. I feel his presence every time I pick up the guitar. There’s not one time I’ve played my guitar without either consciously or subconsciously tried to emulate what he was doing. I keep saying it. He was way ahead of his time.

I heard about Lenny Breau somewhere in the 80's , I think just after he died. But i never heard him play then . It took about 20 years before i did hear him play. What he shame he never became as famous as some of his colleagues, he was just as good if not better than most of them.

...kids. STFU. The adult cause the issues. This guy did not have a great life, no matter how good.

Very interesting guy who is no doubt one of the great players who could play a Dylan and incorporate all kinds of stuff into it. That said the jazz stuff he did is understandably just not commercial and could be hard work for the listener imo

His Philosophy says First Maturity then Mastery at the end Real learning. LEARNING I mean learning yourself not the learned styles

So much potential and he threw it away by making bad decisions when it came to women and substance abuse. I am reading his biography.....One Long Tune, a tragic story of a gifted but tortured soul.
