    Applying a rope directly onto the surface of a tree would harm it. So it's better to use some wooden bricks or carved wooden blocks to distribute pressure from rope evenly. I saw those techniques used by tree climbers, notably redwood climbers.

    • @CanopyCraftStudio
      @CanopyCraftStudio  3 месяца назад

      Agreed! I made a video specifically about this and just finished a net in some redwoods with the same technique 😊

  • @lillzplayzgachaz4843
    @lillzplayzgachaz4843 4 месяца назад

    When you tie the knot all the way around the branch, it kills the branch in the long term. Try and use tension to hold it up or use other methods, but please don't use this method for permanent tree nets.

    • @CanopyCraftStudio
      @CanopyCraftStudio  4 месяца назад

      Yes! We made a video on tree protection to avoid girdling and also include a section in the full video course on the topic 😊

  • @redfuzzyfred
    @redfuzzyfred Месяц назад

    Dont wrap fully around trees, they can grow and suffocate and kill them, you don't need to fully wrap around a tree with the tension from the inner weave, tie one big loop around the base then weave

    Does this work with constrictor knots?

    • @CanopyCraftStudio
      @CanopyCraftStudio  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yup! I actually use constrictors to begin and end lines of paracord so the slack side doesn't come undone over time

      Kids die every year choking on hot dogs, you have a right to personally fear hammocks, But you don't have the right to project your fear onto others and stop people from living their lives.
      Also living in fear sucks so you should face your fears. You will be way happier
