Thank you much for the videos and sharing your knowledge. I also picked up the new 24 XC-W.. feel fortunate and love it. What did using the 12 tooth primary drop your speed to? Can you still "run" 55 with some ease? I ride a lot of Dual Sports is why I ask. Also in your video I'm seeing a larger gas tank. An Acerbis. Is this available? I read where you said no and its in the video but watching it twice I didn't see that.. ? Looks like a nice tank.. Thanks again for you videos.

      Hello:
My gearing is too low for DS. Stick with the stock gearing for that application.
The Acerbis tank I have fits and works BUT the oil filler cap is not accessible. An updated tank is in the works but may be awhile before it's available.

Hey and thanks for the reply. On the gearing - I upped the rear sprocket to a 47 and it feels really nice. I'm at sea level and can run a fairly easy but, a little buzzy 55 mph if needed. Thanks again for sharing all you do we sure do appreciate it. @@slaverace1

Hey Jeff, I tried the 12 tooth on my 2024 TE 300. It was good but a hair low. I’m actually thinking of doing the high comp head and was hoping that the extra torque will allow me to use the taller second gear more effectively with the stock 13 on the front. Any thoughts on that? Have you tried the 13 with the higher comp head?
Also, these bikes seem to have a flat spot on the power after 7000 rpm. Seems like the pipe is not designed for the different port timing (same stock pipe as the XC). I’m worried the gnarly will make that worse. I do a lot of big alpine scree slope climbs and don’t want to give up any top end whatsoever.
Thx and great video as always! 👍

The suspension is amazing and the bike ran well stock but now it rips because I added a TSP ERM slavensracing.com/shop/ecu-reflash-module-erm-by-two-stroke-performance/ . It now pulls harder and and is easier to ride. More HP with a smooth power delivery.

You state that the bore and stroke dictates it as a midrange motor. Which is correct. Then you say all KTM designs are midrange? I guess I should get a mic and see how I do trying to make RUclips videos. LOL. I’ve been thinking about the 250 xc and I like running the bike out on the top end. I think you made the point for me.

Bike looks great but I always expect that from your builds. Will this bad boy be getting a Rekluse in the future? Any problem with the new fuel pump location getting all the gas out of the wings? We use to come darn close to running out of fuel with the older design just because the events we do limit the fuel stop. So if your tank was 2.25 you better be able to get every drop and not have to stop and splash around inside the tank to get it. Thanks for all the great builds.

I have a new 2024 300 XC-W in the USA (14 hours on it). I am having problems at low RPM. The bike runs rough as if it were cold, or lean.
Looking online it seems that for the TPI models this used to be a Crankcase Sensor issue. I cannot find any information online to whether the 2024 TBI also has an issue with this sensor (my bike is pretty clean with only 14 hours). Do you have any suggestions? I would greatly appreciate and lead.

Thanks for the video, it's much appreciated. I also have a 2024 KTM 300xc-w and fully agree with your assessment of the power. I do have a question regarding the power output. My bike didn't come with a map switch and it doesn't appear that they are available for purchase at this time. Can you tell me if the bike is delivered in the standard mode or the performance mode. Thanks.

First let me say I have a great respect for you experience and expertise. Second, however, the information I received today from a KTM Service manager contradicts your statement regarding the map default mode. I just bought a 2024 300 xc-w this past Friday (Dec 23.) - as expected (though not appreciated) it did not come with a mapping switch as does the TE300 or 300xc. I did research online over the weekend regarding the default map of the 2024 300 xc-w. Two reviews indicated the default map is the (white) standard map (Power Value limited to 80% full open), two reviews (one of which was your initial review of your new 2024) indicated the default map is the (green) 'aggressive' map (Power Value opens full amount). I went back to my dealer today (10cycles, Matthews, NC - great guys!) to get verification on the matter. While standing there, the Setup-Tech called his contact at KTM who confirmed the default map is the white standard map and the bike is ready for ktm map switch. The 2024 300 XC has the green map set as the default. Thank you for sharing the upgrades you made, if I still miss the snap of my 2014 300 xc when I reach 30 hours on my 24 300 xc-w I may reach out to you for the compression mod.

I don't recommend 2 strokes for snow bikes. It's very difficult to tune them for the wide variety of temps and you are likely to experience a failure/seizure and getting towed out. Most customers that have gone down that road have experienced costly repairs. Buy a 500.

i didn't think those fmf exhausts were that great.. i think guys use them because they have a spark arrestor ? or some sort of sound / emissions damper on the end that keeps them street legal. seems like the guys that have dual sports that take em on the road need them to stay legal on road ? that is my suspicion. I don't think guys put that model exhaust on are looking for extra power... its more the compliance .. could be wrong.
