    Also if I may make a recommendation… I saw that you remove the ashesive from the back of your stickers so you can play around with them and better position them on your project. Why don’t you stick them to a transparent bag instead or a transparent foil so you can position them that way and see where they fit better, instead of removing the adhesive from them? I mean after all they are stickers, so what’s the point in getting stickers if you remove it anyway and add glue? Makes no sense to me. Just get photos without adhesive or cut stuff from a magazine. And then you can position them and add your own glue/adhesive on their back.

    • @tawnyaroberts7028
      @tawnyaroberts7028  10 месяцев назад +2

      Thank you for the tip. I've actually done that and had the sticker rip on me bc it was stuck there too long. I also like to add dimension a lot of times to my embellishment clusters with foam tape and if there's sticky left on the sticker I don't want it sticking down on the parts I don't have the foam tape, I also tend to tuck pieces under things and on things when I build an embellishment cluster and move them around a lot while I'm doing this, and sometimes I ink distress around the edges of my stickers to add more detail, so this works better for me. Hope that helps.

    Great video but I would like to suggest something. Don’t take the sticky part of the sticker off. Simply hold it with a pair of tweezers and hover it around the page. Alternatively you can just use scissors and cut the sticker off the sheet. Removing the glue of the sticker is very counterproductive imo.

    • @tawnyaroberts7028
      @tawnyaroberts7028  5 месяцев назад +1

      Good tip! I do this because I sometimes leave a layout for several days and then come back to it, I also frequently pop a sticker up in my embellishment clusters and tuck things underneath and I never know what I'm going to tuck and overlap until I'm done. Also should I decide to pop it up and add foam tape underneath, unless I cover the entire image in foam tape, the slightest pressure pushing down say from the pages closing in an album would cause my sticker to stick down in places I don't want it to. So, for my own sanity I remove the sticky off the back of them. Hope this helps explain my thought process. Thanks so much for watching and for the feedback.

      We use to have these with Close to My Heart. I know Stampin’ Up is coming out with a whole scrapbooking line and albums is one of those things but unfortunately it’s going to take a couple of months as they are in production. I have purchased albums from Micheal’s and as a CTMH Maker I can tell you that CTMH’s quality was a lot nicer and held up. So far I have loved all of SU’s products. I would not have become a Demonstrator for them if I didn’t love their products…but they don’t currently have any. If I was in a pinch and couldn’t wait I might try ordering from scrapbook dot com but I can not attest to the quality. I’m sorry.

    Hi Tawnya, liked the video above. What I wanted to do is make a "storybook" that tells my grandchildren the history of their grandparents and other ancestors. I planned to use scrap-paper for the pictures with some embellishments of paper lace doilies and ribbons for the women and not sure what to use for the men. As my father was a coin collector I thought of placing pennies backed by foam dots. Do you have any other suggestions for a Family History Book? Thank you.

    • @tawnyaroberts7028
      @tawnyaroberts7028  8 месяцев назад +1

      I love the lace and dollie ideas! Do you happen to have any that are specifically theirs? That would be amazing! Maybe even some buttons from their clothes. As far as your grandfather goes, one of his buttons as well would be great and even if you don’t use the actually money or buttons, how about some old style stamps? I love embellishing with stamps. You could use cameras, old typewriters, glasses, family generations type stamps. Ctmh had a couple around September. I know there’s a new one coming out in the January catalog: I’m sure you can find lots of them though. Old clocks would work too and maybe stamp them antique like. I hope that helps.

    You have seven children, so there isn’t much worry about overwhelming them. But I hope people don’t scrapbook all their lives if they only have one or two kids. Making one or two books per child makes beautiful memories. Making a large set becomes a burden. I know people who felt they couldn’t get rid of their heirlooms because it would be like losing a part of their parents, and had to drag them from place to place with them, sometimes having to pay for larger houses or apartments to house those things. Ok, I’m talking about furniture now, but picture each generation creating several scrapbooks for each kid… yikes.

    • @tawnyaroberts7028

      NO worries. I have an album for each one of my kids, a family one for myself, one of my husband and I, and a Christmas one. Some of these albums have very few layouts in them. @@tawnyaroberts7028 Is it the same with what is called craft sheets or pattern paper? Could oregami paper be used? Is it the same as in thickness? I do not think we have a name for scrapbooking here. Even less to have a paper for it in Romania hence why I ask. Sorry for my many question and for being persistent. I love your advices and your channel and I am new to all this. Sending you much love and thank you! 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
