I saw Brightburn a few years ago. It was a pretty unsettling Movie. Superman as a bad Guy. It was basically not even implied, but stated that the Alien Kid with the Super Powers was just born bad and evil. at the end of the Movie, it is is revealed that there are other bad super Beings- a Wonder Woman like character also evil and being destruction to the Planet. It was implied these were all part of some extra-Terestials plan to conquer and dsetroy Earth. NO good Paretning would have stopped the KId from Brighburn from being Evil. It is like Clark on Red Kryptonite. Perhaps, someone cojuld make another Movie about a Superman being who is more Gray- Neither all Good or All Bad.

Seeing a honest man do hardwork, standing up for what he believed in while taking dealing with and protecting a super beings developing powers head on definitely had a lasting impression on the young man of steel. Now brightburns father was definitely not Lionel but he didnt make it easy for the kid at all. Clark developed heat vision? First person to know is Jonathan and they dealt with it together. Brightburns father was afraid of whatever his kid could do and just wanted to get rid of him. Clark wants to be cool and blend in at school? Jonathan assures him that one day he will have a meaningful place in this world . Brightburn is alienated by his classmates? His dad probably didnt even know until he hears about the gym class situation and STILL doesnt take the time to sit the young man down and just have a heart to heart.. what i'm saying is barring special substances that can alter Supermans conciousness, i dont believe anything can obscure his moral compass because he had a wholesome upbringing while on the contrary, Brightburn was spinning before he was hearing voices in his head. The look of betrayal on brightburns face before he killed both his parents was the kicker for me also. He was still just a boy who needed to be loved.
