Thank you for the video, but next time please record the sound before taking it apart

will do. Sometimes I don't create a video until months after the car leaves the shop. Good feedback, I will make sure I get a sound byte before.

I concur, great video but a sound bite would be really helpful

I've been looking for an example of this sound online for over two hours. It's like no one ever thinks to record it first, it's driving me absolutely insane.

Excellent video I really enjoyed how you genuinely described the issues in full detail pinpointing the exact problems that was causing the noise. Clearly you are a true professional and we need more like you bud for sure.👍😁😎👌

Very nice explanation, how can you know the whinning noise is coming from transmission and not from alternator bearings ? ? If the whinning noise is heard at 80mph and the car speed doesn't go beyond 100 mph can be a transmission problem? ? And what can be done? ?

At this moment im stressed i bought a second hand gear box in March took it to the workshop to get it fitted the job was done my car drove well mind you this is a weekend out car not a daily driver, yesterday i was driving aroung my neighbor hood in slow speed as i was going over a speed hump I heard a click and cklunky noise I stoped the car to check whats up i saw a huge pudle of fresh oil coming from the gearbox like it was pouring out the car would not move i called the mechanic to have it looked at but when we towed it you could hear the cklunky noise as the care is being towed. Im so stressed because i know fixing a gear box is so expensive especially for the car im driving its a 20v 4AGE.

Great video, I have a question please, I have a little whining on 6 gear (manual) at about 100 km/h but only if I let go of the gas pedal, if I press the gas pedal even slightly the whining disappears, the whining is also there on other gears at same speed but less obvious than being on 6 gear, what bearing inside the gearbox you reckon is causing that? Cheers

What kind of car? Your more describing a final drive bearing/Ring & Pinion noise. Most likely not a gear inside the transmission.

@@nikosougias1298 Thanks for your reply mate. It is Mazdaspeed 3 front wheel drive. the gearbox has 3 stacks of gears, they are called Primary Shaft, Secondary Shaft #1 and Secondry Shaft # 2, the primary shaft is the one that is connected to the clutch.
The primary shaft has the 3rd, 4th and 6th gears and it has a bearing at each end
would that give you more hints to what bearing or shaft I should be looking at? Thanks a lot mate

@@AhmedBahgat if the noise is made in any gear, but at the same speed. It has mostly everything to do with vehicle speed which will be connected to your final drive. The final drive unit(Ring & Pinion) and the gear stacks are in the same housing known as the transaxle. Whoever you take it for diagnosing, have them listen to the Ring & Pinion. That's what I would be going after.

If you want to diagnose noises from the engine, drive train, transmission and the like, put the vehicle on the lift with a helper in it,get you a stethoscope made for automotive diagnostics, with eng running and trans in gear have helper accelerate slowly and start probing with the stethoscope, you can’t mistake an abnormal noise,if you can’t fix it yourself,at least you’ll know where the problem is.A stethoscope can pinpoint all kinds of noises associated with automotive issues, replacing parts on guesswork is a waste of time and money, good luck.
