Great tutorial!! If you are doing colors of multiple sittings/days, when is best to add the laminating glue? After each color is done or after all colors are done?
I just received my kit from Ersenn today, can’t wait to start. It has everything and even a display stand . Thanks a lot for showing how to prepare color.
Beautiful, peaceful to watch, wonderfully educational and inspiring. I'm an artists who is always playing with new mediums. This looks much more practical than classic powdered glass. I'm totally going to take one of my drawings and try this. Thank you.
I just order my first order and can't wait to recieve it so I could start. I am willing to learn and start new projects. I shall be ordering more soon.
Thank you for such an illustrative and beautiful video! Can we use any water soluble white glue which dries up clear to mix with the sand or is it a must to use only clear glue?
Wonderful video. I ordered a kit. I have never done cloissone before and look forward to trying it. I had a few questions. Once you mix the sand with the temporary glue solution and water, how long is it good for? If, say, I can only work on this piece over the course of several weekends (instead of over several hours or several days) if the mixture going to harden or clump due to the glue? At the end of the video it says "wait until the paint is semi-dry" before applying the laminating glue. How long does it take typically for the paint to be semi-dry? Other videos (mainly on cloissone jewelry) talk about firing finished pieces in a kiln, but your doesn't. Does the laminating glue take the place of heat? Thank you! Cheryl
Firing it melts the sand into glass which is more traditional. Just using the glue means you will have granulated texture on the piece instead of the smooth glass.
I got a kit, but there were no instructions in the box. I finally found a video on how to do everything except the part about a and b epoxy. The video uses something else. How do I mix and apply the epoxy?

Hi there. Great tutorial. Following watching it I went to your website and placed an order (order number 00000203) on 13th November and checking the order status today it still says awaiting shipment. Could you advise when it will be shipped and if you will send through a tracking number so I can track progress of delivery across over to Spain. Really looking forward to receiving these items and having a go a doing them, Many thanks
I have paint left over from other projects (epoxy resin pigment mica powder) can I use that for my cloisonne piece? Is powder the same as sand and will I have to wash the power like you have suggested to wash the sand?
HI. First of all, congratulations for this wonderful work. I wanted to ask you what materials to use with this technique, because I would like to try to do something.
@kathleengarrity1221 you will probably see it in fabric stores. They sell this kind of glue. Or those place where you can buy sewing stuff or rhinestones shop. Or maybe online if you cannot find it in physicals stores in your place.
Yes, currently you can only purchase these products on Etsy, but I am in the process of building my website, and in about a week, you will be able to buy them through my website.
Yes, this art is a little hard for beginners, but it becomes easy and fun once you practice and get the hang of it. If the glue dries, you just need to clean it off and reapply glue.
@@cloisonne3746 thanks a lot, I wasn’t able to clean it up, so I added a bit more. And you are sure right, it became more fun as I go. Thank you very much.
Hi, When I fly to China, How can I find you to buy cloisonne sand painting materials? Because I am from Turkey and I cannot buy from your website or etsy
Hello, I have purchased the kit, but it doesn't include temporary fix glue. The only glue it includes is "mix 1:3" half a bottle. Do I not need to mix it with colored sand? I am afraid it is not enough for the whole painting. Also, the bottle says it is a mix 1:3. Is it just glue or is it already mixed? feels like it is already mixed, liquid like water. I would appreciate response. thank you!
Depends on size and if you want it with full or partial material. But in general Ersenn is the lowest prices and best full kit. Better than cloisonné kit. Those are the only two I know sell this art.

This is great, but the suggested videos at the end cover up the last 20 seconds or so of the tutorial, so I can’t see what you do after applying the laminating glue.
Hello, after applying laminating glue, you just need to wait for the glue to dry. After the glue dries, it will become transparent and form a protective film on the surface of the painting.
@@bennettmccardle5267 Ah thank you for the information, Bennett. It's not really the Cloisonné I was looking for... This feels rather more like a _resin_ project then - just with some wire separating the different coloured resins.
This is not cloisonne, call it something else. The real cloisonne requires a kiln and lot of work. this a simple craft that should have a different name in order not to make people believe that cloisonne is just that.
I mean it is, just an easier and cheaper way. You can pottery with air dry clay, which is easier than traditional pottery with a wheel, kiln, glaze; but it’s still pottery. This is a champagne vs. sparkling wine type of argument.
Fascinating, I've neither heard of this nor seen it before. I'm going to have to research more on this. Thank you.

What type of paint/ sand do you use. There are so many different types I don't know which one to use. There is also powder & epoxy resin. Confused.
I want to know this too! Laminate after you finish a section or laminate when the whole thing is done?

Is mica powder the same as sand. If so, does it require any additional treatment before placing on the board.
Once I add the temporary fixing glue to the sand, will it still be able to be used if I need to quit and finish later, or do i need to prepare more?

This is wonderful!
Do you think you’d be able to use this technique to make a pendant for a necklace - if you used a small plastic disc as the base?
