You can't really go wrong either way. I chose Caspian because I'm putting their Damascus slide on top and they will fit the two for free. I'd suggest getting the frame from wherever you get the slide. In the end though, it'll all be covered up with finishes and refit by a gunsmith anyway. Any quality part is a good investment.
So are you happy overall with it? I saw only one or two minor imperfections, otherwise it looked like a well-made/finished piece. I'm debating over a Caspian Officers frame vs a Les Baer Stinger frame for a CCO build.
I had a caspian arms 1911 back in about 1985. I have to say, that, despite it being very expensive, it was a complete piece of shit. The fit up was loose, the spring housing thing that holds the springs and plungers for the slide release and the safety fell off.. It was crap. It never ever fired a full magazine without jamming up.. The slide would not return.. It seemed to me that the breech face was too narrow. A 38 super slide on a 45 perhaps?? The thing was terrible and i did a straight swap for a super blackhawk just to get rid of the investment cast piece of shit.. Nearly forgot to say, after about 40 shots there were smears of stainless on the barrel [in the chamber area] where the barrel was "picking up" on the stainless. A total pile of crap. Wish to god i had bought the cheaper colt government combat or the FAR cheaper Llama omni..

It is one of the best for the money you can get. Unless you want big big name stuff. That is a really nice frame.
