The Ring is a 2002 American supernatural horror film directed by Gore Verbinski from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger, starring Naomi Watts, Martin Henderson, David Dorfman, Brian Cox, and Daveigh Chase.
It is a remake of Hideo Nakata's 1998 Japanese horror film Ring, based on Koji Suzuki's 1991 novel of the same name. Watts portrays a journalist who investigates a cursed videotape that seemingly kills the viewer seven days after watching it.

I love this film as well as the original Japanese horror film.

Yeah saw the ring first before seeing original same with the grudge. I do think Ringu has a bit of a dull but I still like both Probably prefer original Grudge to remake.

I could never get into the ring. Don’t care for the original Japanese version either.
2:50 me neither, that is a very boring movie. Johnny depp is overreacting with that laughable makeup and It doesn’t help that it stars Cannibal psycho Armie hammer.
To be honest, I always thought this movie was just there, but I think it’s extremely overhyped. I don’t get the hype and there’s other horror movies I prefer over this one. The ring is ok but I would never watch it again. Although it’s better than the 2004 grudge, that one is horrible.
