How-to record your PS3 Gameplay using the Elgato Game Capture HD

- In this video I show how to setup and record a PS3 console using the Elgato Game Capture HD. To be able to record the PS3 you have to either use the supplied AV cable that comes in the Elgato box or use a standard composite/component cable. Now you can record via HDMI but it would involve an HDMI splitter to scramble the HDCP signal. Make sure to subscribe like the video.

Not to sound like a console fan boy but I think this would be great on Ps3, Xbox would definitely be better but if your low budget then Ps3. But the best thing to game on is Pc you can do so much more on Pc than on console. Other than that this video was very helpful.

No, but if you have a old tv like 144p, 240p, or 360p then you will have a hard time editing.

Will putting the settings to 1080p have any negative effect?
I am quite new to this kind of stuff, but want to get into it. It seems pretty easy to learn. How much does the Elgato cost? And can I record regular pc footage with the recording programma of elgato? Cause I afcourse want to test recording some pc footage before spending my savings on the actual capture card to record Dark Souls footage.
No it wont have any bad effects, it just wont look any better because most games run in 720p. The Elgato costs $150 US. Yep you can can record your PC footage but you must have the Elgato device its self.
Well, I've heard that recording in 1080 is always better because youtube scales down the quality.
I need to have the Elgato to record from the pc? Hmm I'll firstly go for a safe bet of getting another little recording and editing programme first.

Try to restart the video settings on the ps3 to do that is by holding the ps3 button on the console wait for the first beep still holding it and you should here a second beep after the second beep stop holding it and it should restart the video to 480p to put it back on 1080p or on 720p is go to display settings click on component/d terminal and then check the boxes shown with the resolution and check all of them hope this works for ya

How its price elgato capture card
Hey i set everything up and it displays 1080p on my tv on the homescreen of the ps3 but whenever i open up a game it goes to 720p any suggestions? thanks

You may have a slightly loose connection somewhere. Check all your connections and try it again.
