I've been using your tunes, thanks! Some are a little loose to me but you warned about that. I use your Volvo tune and wow! You really woke that car up! Also, thanks for replying to my grandson on xbox, he was thrilled and called me up to tell me all about it. I appreciate that you post videos sans the foul language.
+Jacob Hogan I'm glad you enjoy them. I try to respond to every message with actual content so if it's a question, I'll almost always answer :). Yeah, my stream has foul language but I try to keep it off my RUclips so all can view. I''m really happy that I made him that excited :).
Slow down and brake before you turn. Let your enter the turn and it'll glide into the turn or corner. If you hold your brakes in the middle of the turn it throws off balance and puts you into a slide. Brakes × corner= loss of traction. Also throttle control helps in sweeper turns
Great content - something I thought would be effective was to have diagrams presenting the racing line during each explanation stage of different corners.
great vid raceboy. it'd be nice if at least 20% of ppl who play online applied these common knowledge race tips, maybe we'd have more success at avoiding the 23 car pileup off the starting line.
Great Video! Idea for next tips video: Fighting through traffic to get most positions. That would help not only me but I'm assuming ALOT of people while online, and help clean up some races.
Hey Raceboy great Vid... i think you should do more of these Forza tips videos, you certainly have the credibility to do these your tunes are amazing! keep it up
One hard thing to learn is to keep the speed while being smooth. The driving style determines how agressive/smooth one can be. But true speed is in the in-between of those two styles.
Btw the geometric line is a lot slower out of the corners than the ideal line (which is the line you did) the ideal line for cars will be a lot quicker as the exits are a lot faster.
+Raceboy77 the Forza wings and bumpers are so ugly tho!! (I dont use them personally). That gives me an idea for a next video: Full aero vs stock aero laptime comparison.
+Andy K try some of SPO1LED JAM1E's tunes, he makes them for a lot of cars and have them in ''Full Aero'' and ''No Aero'' versions most of the time, they work great!
1:00 to 1:40 (and) 14:17 to 14:43 WWWWRRRROOOONNNNGGGG!!! The entry is just as important as the exit! In fact, your exit will only be as good as your entry! You need to take care of both. I've learned from experience.
When exiting a corner you see people do a little bit of opposite lock. Is this a natural reaction to the cars movement, or an intentional pre-emptive decision?
+The Naked Argonian Hey man, check out my tune list - link in the description. Some tunes have been taking down, I believe the SL65 is one of those but I think there should be one for the McLaren. Again, check the list to see everything I've got up :).
hi,good video,I'm quite new to the game and was wondering if you could tell me an a class car with good handling I could use and if there's a good tune for this car?
You can adjust toe while sacrificing straight line speed, so for corner entry it's good, but for corner exit it's not so good - as always, it's always a trade-off, based on the car and the track you're on.
I know that, but without traction control, it's kinda hard not to spin the wheels without slowing down a little. I guess it's just a limit of tire traction.
Something a lot of people don't know on Forza, which surprises me. To maximise your cars tyre traction, dependant on the tyre it will 'expand' after being heated. For example, when you start the race with 30 PSI tyres (Racing tyres) they will probably be at 35-36 PSI by end of race (Effectively losing 'grip'). The best PSI for 'racing tyres' is about 32 PSI. So you might want to set your tyres to 27 PSI to begin with, then look at your telemetry, and you will see after 1 lap they heat up, the oxygen expands, and you will be running at 32 PSI, at about 220 degrees. Sometimes dependant on your drive train, like a rear wheel drive, may find the rear wheels get hotter, so sometimes rears might be set to 26.5 while fronts are 27.5 and vice versa for FWD drive trains. Lastly, throttle control yes with no traction control. You are ALWAYS better off sacrificing going into a corner not so good, to ENSURE you have a 'straight line' out of the corner, which allows you to hit that throttle out of the corner faster. More you are turning, the less traction you have while putting your foot to the floor. I have tuning for very powerful cars, where I can almost 100% slam the throttle down even when slight turning, like the Zonda in R-Class tune I have - never underestimate the difference the right tyre configuration can have!
I loved this video as well as others, but i hope you dont mind some constructive criticism, try to plan out what you’re going to say beforehand so theres no long pauses or kinda rambling.
Great video! Your tunes are the best. How can I achieve the best balance between handling and power. I'm working on my own tunes and am having trouble finding that balance. Do you have any tips/suggestions? I usually modify the older cars (muscle cars, 1973 Nissan GTR, 1973 Porsche 911 RS)
Aaron Vadovic check out my building tips video. That should give you a solid starting point. You can also check some of my past streams when I’m building cars.
Great video. My problem is my cars won't turn lol like my controller is fine works great but my cars won't turn at all in any corner I don't what to do lol
I assume you got your cars to turn by now? Just read this today and was gunna help but noticed it was a year ago. Hopefully you stuck with it long enough to get a good set up and amount of practice to help compensate for it or eliminate the plowing through turns...you obviously can find plenty of help on the ‘Tubes. Good luck, either way. ✌🏼
Also, how do do you "boost" for lack of better word off the starting line? I'm very new to forza and I can't find anything about it. I try to rev in a sweet spot but I either drop rpms and lose speed or stall pretty much. Granted I'm in automatic. Do I need to/should I learn to play manual with clutch? Is that all around better. I still have a lot of assists on. only ones I have off are abs and steering. And full line is braking only.
I put down top 1% times but have trouble getting top 100. However, I may be about the only one using Cockpit view. External just makes it feel too much like Need 4 Speed etc I realize I'm sacrificing time because I can't see exactly where the tires are, but I wish external view was seen more as an assist. Definitely nitpicky, but it just irks me.lol Great vid, though!
Personally, I can hit the same times in cockpit view, I just prefer external for clean racing. I know almost all of the top guys are the same and there are a few who stick in car and just use their right joystick more often. There is no time loss in view, it's only preference.
Raceboy77 Don't take it the wrong way, I know you guys are legit! I just wish more people would use cockpit; just more "realistic" imo. Granted, I'm back to using controller instead of my old Fanatec set up. Never thought about doing heel toe here until your vids and it made a huge difference right away, btw. Immediately my laps and car control improved. I have a hard time adjusting, spent a week at Bondurant not long ago for the second time there and love road racing. It's just tough finding a balance between real and this. Keep up the great vids and thanks for helping everyone, pretty cool, man.
I know, just trying to explain. Lots of people see it as a legitimate aid in speed but that's definitely not the case. I've always wanted to go to Bondurant, hopefully one day! I'm super jealous :p. Thanks man!
Raceboy77 Man, just sign up for it and do it.lol Relative to a lot of other ways to throw away money, it's a life long experience and all that. My instructor signed with Ken Block and we were drifting in a 4 door CTSV all over the place. Friggin nuts. A whole new respect for the legit drifters! We did a few days in the C6 and then a full day in Formula Mazda. My shift hand had blisters for a month.lol Didn't see one, but it would be cool if you did a tutorial for P cars and open wheel. Also, what's your take on SIM vs normal steering? I can't settle on one. Your info on telemetry and shift points helped a ton, too. So thanks again! If you're into bikes, Ride 2 is really good. A lot of the skills transfer well, but the learning curve is a bit higher imo.
NotDreadYet yeah I might end up going one day when I've got some spare cash. Thanks for the kind words! Unfortunately there's no PCARS stuff going up on my channel. As for sim/normal, i use sim but I always suggest to use normal.

The old cliche of "slow in, fast out" is what a lot of people seem to forget
+JSR Devon Yep, oh so often.
I see a lot of "fast in, crash into someone as a brake, and keep going" racing lines. Seems to be really effective against me.
I learned my racing lines in juiced lol, in a 4wd/fwd fast in fast out, rwd slow in, spin out
Sometimes slow is fast

This video is sooo descriptive that even I, a blind driver in the new forza, could fully understand it!
