@@Herbert2892 I don't know about Kerald, but I'm super pretentious. I only attend movie viewings using vintage viewmasters that are burned after the first use so the experience can't be duplicated by the less refined. It's the only way one can appreciate cinematic fare such as this and The Story of Ricky.
Seriously, I can see why some don't like Kitano's work but the movies I mentioned really did it for me..."Takeshis'"...not so much.

Aphex twin is the one who brought a lot to, today’s music. Seriously made an impact with instruments.
I am so alone. Have so many stories to tell, so many experiences to share, no one to share them with except reminisce in them by myself. This song is what I feel when I had an eventful day but I'm still all alone when I'm going to sleep, praying to god that I may have the privilege of sharing my life with someone one day. I just hope it's not too late when I finally do meet someone. This song makes me feel at peace

I've watched this like ten times, then watched the movie, and I'm still visiting this. High key a masterpiece. Didn't think the movie would be as good as this video, but it was. But at the same time, this edit is in another genre all together.
I love how this video doesn't spoil anything about the movie, but even after watching the movie, the impact of this edit doesn't change.

This music is impossibly nostalgic yet offbeat. I love it!
It's fascinating to see what people come up with when interpreting Aphex Twin. Most of the time they are really interesting. Just like this. Really cool editing. I've never seen the movie, but it feels like I kind of got the plot. If the timeline in the movie is linear you made it way more interesting with your edits.
Same because it is entirely different from what I’ve interpreted.
I didn't even know this film existed until now but this track made me feel like I have a personal history with those people. I miss them.

Stumbled upon this after finding aphex and watched the movie because of it. The music and movie go incredibly well together. The aesthetics feel so beautiful and also nostalgic for some reason. I need to deep dive aphex and Kitano now!
One of my all time favorite fan music videos. Sonatine fits the mood of this rather amorphous song pretty well and the editing you did on the thing makes it even better and weirder.

@@professorchik6899 pointless. A bunch of gangsters doing shit like that fighting doll scene as if it was the most "artsy" thing in the world. A few good scenes but in my opinion this movie is thrash... i got it, its nihilistic, the protagonist likes to play children games because it doenst matter to act like a gangster anymore, but i find the plot was boring as hell. And i hate superhero movies, so it is not as if i didnt know nothing about cinematography...
I'll throw my opinion out there if it will help decide if you want to watch Sonatine. I liked it, but I can totally see why some won't like it. Takeshi Kitano's movies tend to be very still and quiet then occasional sudden violence or slapstick comedy. Imagine watching a Bob Ross painting show that randomly switches channels to a violent Taranatino scene or a Bugs Bunny cartoon.
I miss this type of world, we should go back to it.

The Takeshi guy looks truly like a killer, something about his face and his smile looks truly evil. They did good casting him in that role.
I think Takeshi got the role because he was sleeping with the director. :) Also, he's the only actor I know who can have half of his face paralyzed and it not affect his acting performance.
