रायगढ़ दुर्ग, महाराष्ट्र के रायगढ़ जिले के महाड में पहाड़ी पर स्थित प्रसिद्ध दुर्ग है। इसे छत्रपति शिवाजी महाराज ने बनवाया था और १६७४ में इसे अपनी राजधानी बनाया।
यह किला सह्याद्री पर्वतरांग मे स्थित है. समुद्रतळ से ८२० मीटर (२७०० फुट ) कि उंचाई पर है. मराठा साम्राज्य पर उसकी एक खास पहचान है. छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज ने रायगडकिले की विशेषता और स्थान ध्यान मे लेते हुये १७ वी सदि मे स्वराज्य की राजधानी इस किले को बनाई। दुर्ग एक बहुत ही शक्तिशाली दुर्ग है। छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज का राज्याभिषेक भी यहीं पर हुआ था।
अंग्रेजों ने इस किले पर १८१८ मे कब्जा करनेके बाद किले को बहुत बुरी तरहसे नेस्तनाबूत किया भारी मात्रा मे किलेको नुकसान पहुँचाया। और वहाँ बहुत सारी लूट भी की
आजकी तारीख मे ये किला महाराष्ट्र शासन के पुरातत्व विभाग मे संरक्षित स्मारक है। आज यहाँ पर भारी मात्रा मे हर रोज यात्री आते हैं।
रायगड किले का प्राचीन नाम रायरी था। पूरब की ओर के देश के लोग इसे पूरब का जिब्राल्टर के नामसे जानते थे। जिब्राल्टर के जैसे ही रायगड पहाडी इलाके में है और अजिंक्य है।
1662 ई. में शिवाजी तथा बीजापुर के सुल्तान में काफ़ी संघर्ष के पश्चात संधि हुई थी जिससे शिवाजी ने अपना जीता हुआ सारा प्रदेश प्राप्त कर लिया था। इस संधि के लिए शिवाजी के पिता कई वर्ष पश्चात पुत्र से मिलने आए थे। शिवाजी ने उन्हें अपना जीता हुआ समस्त प्रांत दिखाया। उस समय शाहजी के सुझाव को मानकर रैरी पहाड़ी के उल्ल श्रृंग पर शिवाजी ने रायगढ़ को बसाने का इरादा किया था। समाधि भी रायगढ़ में ही है। यहाँ उन्होंने एक क़िला तथा प्रासाद बनवाया और वे यहीं निवास करने लगे। इस प्रकार शिवाजी के राज्य की राजधानी रायगड में ही स्थापित हुई। रायगड चारों ओर से सह्यद्रि की अनेक पर्वत मालाओं से घिरा हुआ था और उसके उल्ल श्रृंग दूर से दिखाई देते थे।

Raigad Fort is a famous fort situated on a hill in Mahad in Raigad district of Maharashtra. It was built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and made it his capital in 1674.
This fort is situated in the Sahyadri mountain range. It is at an altitude of 820 meters (2,700 ft) above sea level. He has a special identity on the Maratha Empire. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj made this fort the capital of Swarajya in the 17th century, taking into account the characteristics and location of Raigad Fort. The fort is a very powerful fort. The coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj also took place here.
After capturing this fort in 1818, the British destroyed the fort very badly and caused a lot of damage to the fort. And there was a lot of loot too
In today's date, this fort is a protected monument in the Archaeological Department of Maharashtra Government. Today a large number of travelers come here everyday.
The ancient name of Raigad Fort was Rairi. The people of the country on the East side knew it as Gibraltar of the East. Like Gibraltar, Raigad is in the hills and Ajinkya is there.
In 1662 AD, after a lot of struggle between Shivaji and the Sultan of Bijapur, a treaty was made, by which Shivaji had obtained all his conquered territory. For this treaty, Shivaji's father came to meet his son after many years. Shivaji showed him all his conquered provinces. At that time, Shivaji had intended to settle Raigad on the Ul Shring of Rai hill, following Shahji's suggestion. Samadhi is also in Raigad itself. Here he built a fort and palace and he started living here. Thus the capital of Shivaji's kingdom was established in Raigad itself. Raigad was surrounded on all sides by the many mountain ranges of Sahyadri and its owl horns were visible from a distance.
