Very refreshing to watch someone that knows what they are talking about and uses facts to back it up.

I'm a protestant lived in lower oldpark of North Belfast, people started calling me Walter my name is John i was a little confused until I found out Walter was a full-time member of the U.D.R who was dating a girl from the lower oldpark and bore a striking resemblance to me !!! I met him everyone has a double !! Grew my hair long and started watching my movements, don't think the I.R.A asked fir identification when they take someone out !!!!

During the lifetime of the Regiment. 197 UDR Officers and Soldiers were killed. A further 62 UDR Veterans were killed after they had resigned/retired from the Regiment.

The UDR were loyalists in uniform...

Worked both ways, catholic civilians who helped the Ira set up targets are just as guilty as those who pulled the trigger or planted bombs

The UDR killed more loyalists gunmen then they did IRA. It was a UDR soldier who chased down Gerry Adams would be assassins engaged them in a gun battle and ultimately arrested them. The UDR were also the soldiers who finally broke up the Loyalist strike of 1974. Yes there were loyalists who infiltrated the UDR, but as a whole they served with honor and distinction throughout a stupid confusing conflict.
