Dear Malini thank you for taking us around the world through these cities in few minutes. I really like the new intro for Istanbul and Barcelona, the poetry or should i say letters are really interesting. I write letter to cities that i visit as well, they make me feel like i am speaking to these cities as people who exists. I will be in London next month and i am already writing a letter to London as its my first time in Europe. Thank you so much Malini. If you ever think of coming to Lagos in Nigeria, i will be your guide for free if i am in town. I will love to show you my city, its incredible hospitality and amazing nightlife. Thank you once again.
Thanks for your comments, great that you enjoy the different formats we’re experimenting with! And thanks for your offer, if we ever come there we’ll remember you!
I just watched the Istanbul video not too long ago, I definitely share the same feeling with her videos. They are not just "influencer's travel", her videos are very educational and truly can sense her passion through the lense. ❤
I too love Barcelona. I drove through it 5 years ago in my big old Merc. Its easily the best looking city I have ever seen. We were at a beautiful Air bnb in Calafell
Barcelona, a very beautiful city, I ever had seen before, bravo for giving us a chance to see it atleast in videos, you have done a very good job, this way, those who are alike me cannot visit such places can at least get a glimse of it by watching your channel.... love you,,, te quoro mucho,,,
Best travel video of Barcelona I’ve ever seen. I’ve been in love with Catalunya since my very first visit, but haven’t visited for a few years. You really made me want to go back as soon as possible. ❤️💛❤️💛❤️💛❤️
Ah I just visited Barna for the first time last month and your video brought back all the memories of the neighborhoods I explored! Such great vibes, even with many tourists around it was easier than I thought it would be to escape the crowds
Such a beautiful love letter to Barcelona! I loved my visit there 14 years ago. A friend and I along with our young kids, rented an apartment right around the corner from the Mercado Boqueria! The Gothic quarter is truly a place to get lost and experience the essence of the city. The people, food, culture and architecture fills your heart with joy! Things have changed since I was last there, but the city still maintains it’s true soul! Thanks for taking me back! ❤❤
Hi Ingrid! So glad you enjoyed the video and I hope it brought back some good memories ❤️❤️ Barcelona is such a unique city in Europe, it’s got such a unique blend of history, food, culture, amazing weather and people!
Thanks for all your videos. Just recently found your channel and I immediately fell in love with it, your travel videos make me happy after a long day of work, they're very comforting to watch.
Barcelona is magical. I went 2014 when my life and home was destroyed by a betrayal and now 2023 with a completely different life one of my paintings is being exhibited in the museum of modern art in August : I cannot go myself but part of me is. So I am sending a love letter back.
Thank you for the another awesome video! loved the gothic architecture Food looks amazing too you guys do such an amazing job feel like am there myself.
Both Barcelona and Malini’s blue jacket did full justice to that teal and orange look 😄😄😄. Knocked it out of the park again you guys. Your videos feel like the strongest decoction of a place packed into a 30 minute video. Really really appreciate all the research and the writing that goes into making these. Hugs from India❤❤❤
You always shoot great videos for all the places you had visited till now. The information we get is very useful. Thanks Malini. Keep up the good work ♥
Thank you so much for positing this, I really enjoy your content! You make travelling look so romantic and beautiful, I can't wait to go back to Barcelona now. :)
Barcelona, what a special place. First went myself in 2006, it was bubbling under in popularity back then. Hopefully not too much a victim of its own success, a very real city, very cultural. I always make a trip to Parc Guell for the city views when I go. Lovely video.
Everything about your videos is so well done, but one of the things that sets it above and beyond is the sound design. The score and whitenoise is perfect!
Damn, these documentary style travel videos(movies?) are works of art. The style, themes, pacing, story telling etc. Have been on a travel guide watching binge last month. Theres nothing else on youtube of this level of quality. Your at the top of your game, with the artistry here. Beautiful videos, brilliant.
Love your videos and this one was especially special for me since Barcelona is a city I am dying to visit as soon as I can. I need to try that crema Catalana 😊
Spain is beautiful & Barcelona is beautiful. I really want to visit. It all looks so very inviting & even though is very busy, still appears to possess that appealing, attractive & cosy feel/charm.
Yeah, Antoni Gaudí beautifully decorated and added elegance to Barcelona. His designs are recognizable from a distance. They seem as if they are still unfinished. Just like the Sagrada Família, which has been under construction for over 100 years and still is. Thank u for the inspiration, u r beautiful, love u😍🌹
Party scene is ❤❤ .. the beach you showed was La Bella Marbella.... amazing beach vibes ... people are really nice.. but IMHO Barcelona nowadays is very overwhelming.
Hi Malini! I absolutely LOVED this video!! I lived in Barcelona for 6 years, then changed to Madrid, and now I'm moving back to Barcelona, which I consider my "home". It's interesting to see your perspective of the city and places you want to revisit because my perspective of this beautiful city (and its places) would be so much different! I used to live in Eixample Esquerra near Les Corts and Sarriá, and I feel like I haven't really explored much of El Raval and the Gothic Quarter. I would LOVE to watch such a poetic and loving video of you eating bravas at "Bar Tomás" in Sarriá, walking through the beautiful Avenida del Tibidabo, hopping terrazas at Aribau or Consell de Cent streets, or eating brunch at some bar in Poblenou. Ufff, this video just increased my love for Barna!
You are talking aboud the real Bacelona for many barcelonians, now a days I go once or twice a year to the Gothic or Raval, and the problem is not tourism. Barcelona is so much big than the center.
Hi Ire! Thank you for the lovely comment. I lived in Eixample Esquerra for a while too Carrer Mallorca! My fave tapas bar was cervezeria Catalana which I just had to go back to and include in the video, although it’s so much busier now than when I lived there! I lived in Sant Antoni a fair few months also very chilled place, and then the old town. I love the whole vibe of the city to be honest, hard to cover it all in 25 mins, but I’ll be back in the future I’m sure 😊😊
Been to Barcelona twice. Hands down one of my favorite cities. You have a great way of storytelling and educating with your videos. Great voice for the narration too. Reminds me of another travel guide show I watch, won't name them, but they're quality and focus on story, history, and info for travelers rather than the typical nonsense. Good work here.
Dear Malini, I'm pretty sure many people view your videos to visit beautiful places throughout the world―well, without visiting. But to indulge in the relaxing aura and energy―stimulated by soothing music, de-stressing scenes, and many subtle details in your videos―is something we watch your videos for... but never actually reflected I wonder how you'd make a video based on this notion if you ever planned to make one in our country: India! Cheers,
Hi Malini I watched most of your videos and enjoy it. You videos are amazing and keep the good work. When are you coming to Toronto, Canada let me know. Your fan
Hi Malini..I love your videos..your commentary and knowledge on each city you visit is fantastic..please keep them coming and I hope you will do more videos on Italy (please 🙂)...my birth country..greetings from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺
I loved the video format, it really fits with the soul of Barcelona. I go there 2 to 3 times a year, and am always looking for new addresses. That would be perfect if you can share with us the addresses you have visitied so far into the description
Angelica, you missed to show two or three important places in Barcelona. One is the city square, where the statue of Christopher Colombus stands, with his hand pointing the wrong side on his voyage to explore India. Next is the famous, unfinished Cathedral of St Mary, an architectural marvel of Antoni Gaudi. And, last, the famous Olympic Stadium where the Olympic torch was lit by an archer, shooting a firy arrow from almost 100 meters or so, during the 1992 Olympics...??!!
Thanks for sharing a bit of yourself. It's refreshing, the honesty and sincerity and yet simplicity. At our roots, the core of our existence are these simple, true moments of life, the way you so easily returned to the use of Spanish as a true speaker, not as some would as a Spanglish or mixture of words from other places. We got to see a part of you too. That's the authenticity that many content providers are missing. They are just showing themselves in a place, here or there, but hardly better than novice tourists on a "bucket list" of excursions. I don't believe in bucket lists. It's too impersonal, like speed dating I suppose, hardly getting to know someone before you're off to the next one. People and places are intertwined. To know one you have to attempt to know the other. Sadly, some content providers miss that. They dwell on the place and miss the richness of the experience that is only found within the lives of those that are from there. Otherwise, we might just call a weekend in Madrid like some kind of wild weekend with some cute face you met in a bar. But We don't want that, and you don't show us that. Thanks.
I returned to the city that I used to call home... strays like you and me won't have a home even when we're buried, but it's good to be a rolling stone...❤
Hi Malini thank you for the Barcelona tour..loved this..got doubt why u haven't shown sagrada da familia in the video? I would have been complete video if you have shown this place also..
Hey! Thanks for your comment! Well it’s hard to cover it all in 25 mins, however we got some pretty cool shots of sagrada familia from the top of the casa pedrera, there’s a cool view of it, without all the crowds :)
Dear Malini .. I am from India. Your name sound so Indian , in fact famous indian actress from 80's name was Hema Malini .. Please visit our country INDIA to do series. You will love it .
Was there in Oct '23 for a week vacation from the US, had a blast! Makes me chuckle the Spaniards love their pig! I grew up with no restrictions on food for any reason, so I can really appreciate the flavors and I love my jamon too. It's just a minefield for my fellow humans who don't eat pork for religious/personal reasons, I'm sure they don't care though since its considered a forbidden/disgusting meat for them.
Thank you Malini for another splendid video, this one on one of my most favorite cities. The video does go hard on tourism and tourists, though. I understand this to a great degree. Cities like Barcelona (and Venice too) are indeed very crowded with tourists. We should try to remember that each individual tourist to Barcelona, first and foremost, is a person who came to enjoy the city’s incredible history, art, architecture, food, ambiance, all the things you personally enjoy and present in this video. This person brings their curiosity, enthusiasm, appetites, and dollars too. We should strive to find a balance between over-tourism and not demonizing tourists and tourism. Otherwise only current/former residents, students, travel bloggers, or elite/well-off travelers will be given access.
Thanks for taking the time to comment Linda! Glad you enjoyed the video ❤️Totally agree with you, I think it’s about promoting the right kind of tourism more than anything, as you mentioned a real curiosity for the culture and local places, versus irresponsible mass tourism where dollars don’t positively impact the local economy.
You and barcelona both are soooooooo beautiful ❤
Agreed.
I agree.
Dear Malini thank you for taking us around the world through these cities in few minutes. Provably, the best city in the world❤
