Do you use Apple CarPlay? Thanks for watching, it is always appreciated.
Everyday and Siri, Waze Maps, News, Podcast and Music (since 1 week between beta 2 and beta 3 the share play popped up, maybe from server side, coz there where not update)
Issue is, since ios 17 siri does not recognize When I say Hey Siri, send a message to .. on WhatsApp Business.. I have to say how Hey Siri send a message to... on Double U A Business.
With WhatsApp Business I get the response that there is no such app and I have to check on the App store...
Either way, on IOS 16 was working, but the response of Siri was always the same, ok sending message or calling... Person on Double U A Business.
Now as I write, it might be logically that this is not an issue of Apple but of Metas WhatsApp... If they call there Business WhatsApp in Short: WA Business in the Install Settings, Siri might just know the name WA (Double U A) Business. What do you guys think? Could that be?

You know what I would like to see in Apple CarPlay? Well, you know how when you get an incoming phone call on your iPhone, the notification no longer takes over the whole screen, but confines itself to the dynamic island? That's what I would like to see in CarPlay. It sometimes happens that I'm driving an unfamiliar route, using Apple Maps for directions, and a phone call comes in just at the very moment when I need to glance at the map on the display. The map is completely hidden by the notification! What SHOULD happen is that the notification confines itself to just a small part of the display, so that I can still see the map. THAT is what I would like to see in Apple CarPlay.
Compared with that, I think that the new wallpapers are of no importance whatsoever.
The fact that I still can't set a custom wallpaper is ridiculous

Actually android wallpaper is better. Not sure why no one makes car play app to add wallpapers.
it must be some sort of safety reason and I get that but I wish there were a way to do it while stopped or something

I wish they would add widgets to CarPlay. It would be nice to have a larger square for time and weather. Trying to drive and look over at the tiny little clock and temp is a pain.
Exactly something that’s coming with the new Carplay.
Don’t expect big changed to the current Carplay, it’ll still be supported, but big new features will be exclusive to the big new version.
Would love to get shortcuts or a particular shortcut onto the CarPlay interface.
What are the requirements for wireless CarPlay?
the EV feature in Maps is incredible - as a new owner of one, i’ve been stunned by how unbelievably bad the third-party EV CarPlay apps have been (PlugShare and ElectrifyAmerica’s CarPlay apps are borderline useless). stoked to test this out tonight!
Is this feature still only available for a small amount of cars, like Ford Mach-E, Porsche Taycan, and now Audi A8L? Anyone know of other cars?

I doubt it, apart from Tesla a charger is a charger and even Tesla chargers are open to non Teslas now. @@wiepie33

How does it behave when you get an incoming call when your using maps? At the moment it takes over the whole screen and that’s always bugged me.
My Biggest Ask is being able to see a small widget of the song title with full screen maps. maybe across the top or bottom.

Aaron I went into my settings just a minute ago and when I clicked iOS 17 developer beta and instead of it being iOS 17 beta it said iOS 16.6 no developer beta or public so I’m wondering if it was an mistake and leaked it so I’m guessing the next one is going to be a release candidate for iOS 16.6
Yes, loving the beta. Did you mention the background color in music app changing to match album cover color? It also changes in the Books app also to match the book cover color.
If you download the map area, would it help save battery life?

Pretty stoked about finally getting downloadable maps for offline use. I remember years ago, that was one feature i loved about TomTom GPS.
GoogleMaps has had it for years too.
When on a call the phone disconnects while on a call , it does this after being on a call for about 25 mins , this is in beta 3 too .
I’m using a 14 pro max with connected lighting lead .
I think thats just an overall ios 17 bug, and not CP specific. I had a call the other day, dropped 3 times (wasnt in carplay)
My CarPlay started to get “buggy” (random quits when maybe using Google maps and music) with IOS 16.5. Hints to fix??
Very lackluster update. Does it still have the volume bug?
Has pinch to zoom made it to Google Maps this year or is it still 2015?
I use a CarPlay system that is not native to my car so this may not be a general issue. The problem is that when trying to use voice in Google maps the CarPlay system crashes immediately and needs a full power off / on to recover. Manual Search works as usual. Is this an issue with CarPlay in General or just my non-standard system?

Did the new update took out the notification when you get a text? The text notification doesn’t come back. Anymore since I got my new iPhone 15 pro max? Is there a reason or will be fixed?

My only issue with CarPlay is that it always freezes whenever I park near a certain supermarket. 😞
Always good content. I love what Carplay does. I hate what it cannot do. It is EXTREMELY restrictive and stupid. It has very limited apps. No usable weather app. I can use navigation to search with my voice, but I can't use voice to search for a song on Amazon Music. Meanwhile, I have to click 6-7 times on the screen to find an artist or song. I wish Apple offered an option to turn off all restrictions, with a disclaimer for liability.
@@prestonjackson2873I use voice to play songs from RUclips Music. It may be an Amazon thing if people are unable to use voice.
Spotify allows search/play music by voice, I use it all the time. Amazon probably haven’t integrated it.

I have car play but when I use my maps its often says that I am about 2 streets over from where I actually am. And then gives directions to get back on track but I am already on the correct road. Its very annoying, before I got apple car play my maps worked fine but after now it doesnt. Help
Do you know it is possible to pinch to zoom in google maps and in waze? I was thinking to switch to iphone but if this is not working then I will probably just keep what I have until they will move to 21 century

Will IOS17 CarPlay allow you to finally choose “avoid highways” because we still have to do it on the phone as of today. Will MAPS allow you to store a route with multiple waypoints so you can call it back in the near future. You know, like just simple obvious features people would use frequently.

Yeah, some vehicles offer that already. Apple CarPlay already supports it, its up to car manufacturers to implement it.
Can Spotify do that Shareplay too? Is it specific to Apple Music, or to iOS itself?
I just checked, not showing with spotify. Mind you its not even showing with apple music for me (not sure if its cause I dont sub to apple music, and its just songs I manually put on, or not avail in Canada)

Hello @zollotech I bought my iphome 14 pro max recently. But the phone was activated in oct 2022. it has not been even 2 months my battery health is already 98. How does that happen. I play game and game heats the phone is that the cause??

No, not yet anyway.
My biggest issue with Carplay is how I cannot do Microsoft Teams. If someone calls me on Teams while driving, the entire car stereo system reboots itself. I don't know why, but this happened with two different iPhone, but not android.
Zoom isn’t much better, either. People have trouble hearing me, so I’ve gone back to just dialing in from my phone and using Bluetooth.
I have the same issue with Teams!
Running iOS 17 RC Public Beta on my iPhone 14 Pro. As far as new issues: So far there is a new glitch on the standby screeen. When I wake my phone the notifications just have a black background.

There is no lyrics on the CarPlay
I find that when I want to use the Waze app on my CarPlay the app is “ frozen “. It never connects to my current location. Any suggestions as to why it doesn’t work on many occasions? Thanks
This happens to me a couple of times. When this happens only Apple Maps works, no other third party navigation app gets my location
Had that happen to me a number of times. Switching Location Services for Waze and Google Maps to Always solved the issue (for me).

I’m listening to a podcast and say I’m halt way through and I want to return to the beginning I would have to click on that back so many seconds icon until I’m at the start again. That’s a long time of pressing to do this.
I seem to remember months ago getting back the start of a podcast by simply pressing the back arrow on the actual car radio system which would be for the inbuilt CD player. It’s a BMW F35 on a 62 plate. Just odd that I could press a button for immediate restart and then now it won’t happen. Thanks

I wish I had a keyboard for apps like waze etc. Now I've just abcde.... at the top and I have to go back and forth to select the right letter. And I would love to be able to fast forward a song on any app. Kjnda annoying I can only fast forward a mix with my phone.

I got to use Apple CarPlay for the first time. This past weekend I got to use a rental car 2023 Jeep grand Cherokee with Apple CarPlay. I’ve never wanted a newer car in my life. Such a cool feature!

Why does el maximum battery capacity differ in the settings app to coconut battery
They get their info from different places. One is design capacity, and the other is like the artificial cap the devices places on the battery to conserve it. Also the actual battery capacity is always fluctuating depending on temperature and cycles, so the data can be from different times.

I’ve only just used CarPlay for the first time in order to be able to access ABetterRouteplanner for planning my charging sessions. I must say this really helped :)
