you have to use this when you're not running it from the "inside" SFC /scannow /offbootdir=C:\ /offwindir=C:\windows
change "C" with the letter of the partition where the OS is installed, this is because the system gives other letters to the partitions when it's explored like this

Please help. I did everything in this video and after restarting it went back to the blue screen automatic repair menu. What else can I try. I have important files on my pc that I cannot lose
UPDATE: Well it turned out that my problem was a bad or corrupted boot file for windows. So I ended up bringing my pc to a repair shop and they told me the only way to fix it was to reinstall a new windows operating system. They were able to backup all my files no problem and I had them re install windows and everything is back up and running!!

There not incompetent I don't have this issue and never have the issue is that SFC is notorious for not working. It's best to run those commands off a USB boot drive. It never works when you really need it.

You don’t need to be admin in order to fix this specific problem. You can access this anyways, but it won’t be from user standpoint.
