The reason why there are empty office spaces is because the commercial rents are too high.

Still gotta admit Downtown Austin is a beautiful area. We have charm here in San Antonio, but a lot of us would like to see at least a few glass towers over 500ft for once

I think what we're seeing is the death of downtown office building construction. It will probably be a few years before they start to build new, expensive office towers.
I think what's merely paused is the boom in downtown apartment construction. I'd bet a lot of the projects that were approved and then put on pause bc of rate hikes will resume in 2025. They're probably just waiting for better financing.
The demand is and will continue to be there for apartments, condos, etc; not so much when it comes to office buildings.

Then there’s also building just sitting there with nobody in it. Certain politicians like the mayor governor small time little real estate/politicians say oh it’s only temporary. Any building that is available for more than a month that’s ridiculous. No reason to build multiple billion building so they can sit there.

There are so many homes in Texas just get on Zelle put your price and you’ll get a Home Available underneath that price but that you want. No need to say there’s nothing there. I like well then buy it and make it what you like and none of this changing properties where you could add multiple homes and one problem is always meant for just a single home. That’s ridiculous.

    FIRST!
    I can remember when
ATX was a small college town of 350,000!
    Won't go into details
    on that since its all
    HISTORY now.
