I like the new ending but I really feel like Remedy should also add more manuscripts and lines throughout the core story to justify the decision to make players go through NG+ to get the real ending, especially since the main story is quite long for a horror game. The stuff that was added was cool but it wasn't spread out very well. Overall it's not bad but I really think Remedy has the opportunity to do something very special with NG+ and this is just a fraction of the story's true potential.
Dude, this is the first NG+ I've ever seen that ever added new story to a game. NG+ is usually just supposed to be the same game but with the equipment you gathered in the first playthrough. Yet Remedy wet out of their way to craft a NG+ with a substantial amount of new story stuff. I'm very satisfied with this NG+. I was able to enjoy the game once more time with some new story beats.
Just finished it and I agree 100% with your comment. Especially since the story does lose a bit of its magic the second time around. It becomes a bit of a chore to redo stuff that you've already done with not enough rewards that tie-up to this awesome ending. Even though the story is only "complete" by playing The Final Draft, most fans are better just checking the changes through a youtube video.
Downwards triangle for Control and spiral for Alan Wake. I personally would like for both Ahti and Mr. Door to be connected to the door with a door looking shape on it. The circle with the c in it is confirmed to be in control 2 and the two circles with the dot in it are for an upcoming multi platform game.
I have a doubt. Does this ending signify the end of Alan Wake as a series, because we have completed a spiral? Or do we get to see the "it's not a loop, it's a spiral" in the possible upcoming games? Because it feels like Remedy does not want to drag Alan Wake any further.
maybe you didn't get it ........ he does not say ''it's not a loop, it's a spiral'' because he did already multiple tries to the end spiral and now playing the new game + he already reached the point that he realized that this was a spiral and break through ,for sure this is not the end but the new beginning.Nothing is dragged
He still has to write Return. His final book to end the trilogy. My take is that at some point remedy will make a game where Thomas Zane is playable. The creator of Alan wake.
I doubt the story of Alan will end here. FBC will not let him walk freely, giving that he's a potential candidate for the role of director and has been missing for 13 years. His reality shifting powers might come in handy when dealing with the Board..or the Hiss(Assuming that the situation in Oldest House is still unsolved)
My take is that alan wake reached the end of the sprial here with the help of alice. I do believe this will be the end of the alan wake games, but not the end of alan wake's story. Remedy is tying together their universe still and I don't doubt that alan wake will show up as the master of many worlds in a future game.
I'm so confused right now. Alan says "When the bullet of light blew the darkness out of the crater of my skull, the dark presence was born from the remains, feeding on the horror around it to grow". Then he says "I was missing the small part of myself that it was born from. Alice, love is strange". Then he says "We put ourselves through hell and hell again, different versions of us." How can the dark presence be born from an event that takes place after it already existed?
@mitchellvineyard6060 Ok since you believe that this is a "deeply layered and complex story" can you explain to me the reason for the dark presence being created here, how the real world events can be part of a loop and repeat themselves, what exactly Alan or Saha did differently this time to get out of the spiral, what the fk hes saying in this ending about Alice, and how the plot reflects the characters' internal growth. Just to be clear, I define a story as plot arcs driven by internally consistent logic pushing its characters towards some inner confrontation of values.
