    you deserve far more subscribers. Nobody here on youtube puts that much effort into creating mock vegan recipes. I am one off those vegans who really miss the last of fish and meat and your recipes are such a big help.

    The scallops won out as the first of your dishes to make and they were awesome! I put them on a bed of fettuccine with a nice lemon sauce and a sprinkle of Original Mrs. Dash. I even fried up some of the leftover seaweed. After slicing the mushrooms I let them marinate overnight in a plastic ziploc bag. I must admit that I cheated to save time today. I used Earth Balance Vegan Butter and added the herbs. My wife said it was wonderful! Thank you!

      Sorry, it's just that you said there are three grammes of protein in three ounces of mushrooms. it's better if you stick to the same units. Three ounces is about 75 grammes, which works out at 4% protein. this doesn't sound like a lot, but if it is including the water in the mushrooms, that would be different.
      I like this recipe though, I'd never heard of these mushrooms before, but now I've had a look and you can buy blocks to grow them yourself. Will definitely try to make it. Thanks. X

      Connie's RAWsome kitchen I think to make it completely vegan, and completely cruelty free, nutritional yeast could be used or vegan grated cheese in place of diary grated cheese. Just a suggestion. Not only is nutritional yeast vegan, and have a cheesy take, but it is also high in vitamin B12.

    I made it! I cheated with the butter though (I mixed my herbs with a vegan butter-like spread I got from the supermarket). I marinated them over night. They are so delicious! I added a little white wine and some rosemary (because it's all I have left from my fresh herb supply) to the mushrooms while they cooked and some garlic cloves. I love it! Thank you! I saw all the other recipes on youtube, but yours was the best!

    I love the way you’re able to instinctively know how much of an ingredient you should add when you’re cooking, that’s how I do it too! I wish you were my grandma too haha, I love cooking but you really devote yourself to it, I can’t find the time to. I was raised vegan so I know all the ins and outs so I can really tell that you know what you’re doing, it’s really inspiring!

    These are absolutely fantastic!!! I know because I'm no longer a vegan or vegetarian full time. Im one of "those" Vegetarians that occasionally eats eggs, cheese, and fish, and having had scallops recently, I have to tell you that you've nailed this. I made this dish and served it to a friend of mine without telling him they were not scallops. He could believe that they were mushrooms... loved them.I was a strict vegan for about 10 years, but fell off the wagon and started including a few animal products after competing in bodybuilding in early 2000's and wanting to add more mass. But I must tell you, after having tried a few of your recipes, I'm thinking of jumping back on the VEGAN train. Thank you for your dedication wonderful recipes and inspiration!Jim

    I just made these "scallops" tonight. They were absolutely spectacular. My boyfriend, who never finishes his meal (which frustrates me something fierce) polished them off. Thank you for this video. I did it exactly as you say for the cooking of the "scallops" although I altered the sauce for the pasta a little, adding lemon and tarragon, and I roasted some thin eggplant slices with tarragon and salt and olive oil (until crispy) and tore them into pieces and tossed into the pasta. OMG these "scallops" were such a treat!!!! Served with a mixed salad and a loaf of crusty french bread (home made). Huge hit. Will do again for sure.

      Jean Williams Hi Ms. Jean! I read your comments and wanted to reply if that's ok 😆 I also have had thyroid surgery (and gallbladder surgery) and going from the standard American Diet to Veganism last November was the best decision I've ever made! I wish I had done it sooner! I would like to refer you to Dr. Michael Greger, MD with www.nutritionfacts.org where you'll find over 1000 videos on the relationship between every health condition topic and nutrition. I'd also like to encourage you to watch the Must See Documentary: What The Health 2017 Here's a RUclips link to the documentary: ruclips.net/video/NIl7aTwxIE0/видео.html Wishing you the very best! Focus on eating all fruits, all vegetables, legumes/peas/beans and whole grains. I have eliminated all oils and butters from my diet which has helped me alot!! 😊

    Dulce is another sea veg that is so pretty , reddish and softens in seconds or can crisp up in a pan with a dash of oil, another Asian addition is "mirin" which is a sweetish cooking wine sub that is used often in Asian cooking.. as is kelp flakes that can be added at the end, loaded with minerals! Garlic would also be a nice addition, see as a home chef myself, you got my creative juices going!

    You are amazing, Connie! I LOVE the way you think as a creative chef, and love the way you cook!!!! I am so grateful to you for taking your time to present to us such amazing Vegan recipes that you developed with such creativity, passion, talent and skill!! Although I will be looking for them now I haven't in the past. There is a huge Asian market in Edmonton call TNT which I'm going to see If they carry them. They do carry jackfruit I just found out a couple days ago after the emailing them. So now I can try to make the jackfruit fish sticks that you posted a while back. Maybe I can make fish sticks and scallops on the same day :-) as always thank you for a wonderful recipe Connie and Erica. I'm sure will be talking again real soon 😊

    Another possibility for the mushroom ends is to use them for vegetable pho.
    You could use a wide mouth quart sized Ball jar for marinating as it can be turned upside down for an even distribution of the brine.

      daikon?? will it be prickly ( spicy )

    • @jooliebeanpajoolie4244
      @jooliebeanpajoolie4244 7 лет назад

      Connie's RAWsome kitchen ~ No! I poach the daikon "scallops" in veggie broth first, that makes them nice and soft and kind of sweet...then saute them in a little sauce mixture of sesame oil, braggs aminos and maple syrup until they are nice and golden with a bit of a "crust". They are AWESOME!!!

    Yummy! We love mushrooms of all kinds and we love seaweed. Are those homemade pasta noodles or are they like semolina noodles? They look wider then a linguine. Great dish💖Now going to see your video on how to make that butter😃

      home made... D But sometimes I get this Asian pasta at my local Asian store that taste and feels just like home made :D So good. and it's just flour and water. I have a pasta recipe where I made homemade and cut ravioli same recipe just used a machine to cut noodles instead of and rolling it :). U can hand roll for pasta too just takes longer lol. Let me know if u try

    Connie, you are a miracle worker when it comes to vegan food substitutes! Now Connie, if someone is diabetic, can they use zucchini with melted butter, vegan that is?

    Edit: I did not realise this was a new video! Oh, thank you Connie! I was thinking of how I never see vegan seafood alternatives where I live anymore in the vegan supermarkets. I grew up with a lot of Cuban food and much of it relied on seafood! Ha! ...You sound like you're from New York; I grew up in NYC and my family had a culture of mostly Cuban and American cooking. Of course Italian cooking is very much infused in American cuisine, so there was plenty of Lasagne, Tiramisu and so on - I used to see scallops (I think at Coney Island), but I never tried them (not complaining - they don't deserve to be eaten).You are right about certain mushrooms having a somewhat "fishy" flavour. I've seen these particular mushrooms in every supermarket where I currently live and now I know what to do with them! Thank you so much

      Haha! Well, now we know my ability to spot accents ;) Boy, I can't wait to try this! I've got several types of seaweed: nori, kelp, dulse and wakame. Wonder which will work best... Which are you using here? I will let you know how it turns out soon as I make it :)

      Oh cool! Thanks :) I just went to the supermarket looking for the mushrooms, but they seem to have very skinny ones. Typical. :/ I'm going to try to find the fat ones somewhere else. :)

    Connie! I recently discovered your channel (which is super amazing, btw) and I have been trying to incorporate more and more plant-based meals into my diet. These look fantastic and I want to try making them. Problem is... I love scallops but I hate mushrooms. Does any of the mushroom taste remain?

    Hi Connie 👋
    Loving everything you do and say 🥰
    I am a long time devotee of your everyday guidance. Wishing I am your neighbor 🤪😍
    Love your recipes, advice, and ideas. I am a long time Vegan since the ‘60s and evolve more and more with a little help from my friends, like people like you even at a distance.
    Thank you again and again. You are so very inspiring.
    I have a question...
    What is the pasta you served with these King Scallops. It is so sheer and delicate looking. I have never seen such thin ribbon pasta as Vegan without eggs. I buy Organic, Vegan, Whole Plants and Gluten Free when I can, but hope for great texture in Pasta also ;~}
    Please advise 💞

      thank you so much!!!! wow that is so wonderful since the 60's!!! Many Blessings to you!!! This pasta I get at my local Asian store. it is only water and rice :D very delicate pasta like a homemade pasta :D You can find this pasta at any Asian grocery stores. they also have the egg ones so make sure to read before you buy

    Hi Coonie, I finally found an Asian grocer & picked up a bag of these amazing mushrooms. Could I use a miso with seaweed soup pack as I don't have the seaweed. These come in single portion cup soup. It's a paste you add water to.? What do you think? Thanks ahead of time I just love your cooking & videos 👏👏💜

    • @conniesrawsomekitchen
      @conniesrawsomekitchen  7 лет назад +1

      Oh great!! u can even use sushi seaweed if u can find that The miso I would say no. but any type of seaweed will work :) or just leave it without it still will taste good :) Just not as fishy. The shrooms have a fishy taste when u cook them :)
