I know you posted this literally 5 years years ago, but I wanted to say thank you for doing it. Straight forward to the point. I love the "that's what she said" drops....glad my northern cousins share my sense of humor.
My dad just bought me a RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme master reloading kit. I already ordered a set of AR series small base dies, and a shell holder, to go with it. Now, I just gotta get out and buy some primers, powder, and bullets. I'm like you... I enjoy "cleaning" my guns. So, I already KNOW that I'm gonna love reloading. I also like working on my shooting range, almost as much as I like using it. I was outside for 3 hours today, running drills with my new plate rack, that I built from scratch. Among other drills.
@@luvtahandload7692 ya i check all them and if they are 1.77 i toss em in a bin for resizing... outa 470 rounds i collected from range only 4 were 1.77 rest were 1.74-1.76
A year passed, now I got myself a Dillon 650. Looking back, you are the reason why I started doing it. But hey, you didn't tell me reloading isn't gonna save me money though. I just spend more on fancy equipment and end up with ammo that surpasses my shooting demand.
Janet Towers my bad. Great point. So to do that u keep screwing in the adjustment on the seating die (the knuckles knobs on top) until your desired oal is achieved
Buy a Dillon 600 super swage.. About $130, will do about every pistol and rifle case primer pocket you will encounter. and if not you can order specialty parts
@@stephenjdoemer yes more pressure in the 556 casing but I know guys that reload them both the same and not had any problems but I never have I only reload 223 brass
You know your stuff well, but if you slow down a little, the noobies may learn a lot more from you. Excellent video though. I watch RUclips as I reload, and your video came next. Congrats!
+Mile Highguy because every gun is different and pressure could be different depending on what you put it in. Its just safe to not share recipes over the internet

Great Video, I haven't reloaded in years, Because of the cost issue I'm thinking about starting back up. Thank You for this
Great step by step for reloading. Thanks for taking time to make video. I'm new to reloading so this definitely helped.
Hey thanks a lot, I appreciate it
Really ! Really ! Nice set up. Thank you for your time , info , I really appreciate it.👍
Thank you for the kind words

Great informative video thanks!
ontarioman100 thanks man
All good but missed talking about the crimped primer pockets and cleaning/reforming the PP.
One shot case lube. So easy. Not messy. Lube 50 cases on seconds.
Trim length for 5.56 and .223 is 1.750", not 1.745". Just thought you should know. :>))
I was thinking the same thing 🤔 I'm just starting out reloading and was confused by this.
Luvta Handload thats a max length.
@@pareloader5989 Nope. Every reloading manual I own, all 21 of them, say the same thing: 1.760 max, 1.750 trim. Do you own a reloading manual?

@@luvtahandload7692 do you not read SAAMI specs or something? The acceptable dimension for case length is 1.760 - .020. you can verify this yourself.
SAAMI spec is 1.730 minimum
And 1.760 maximum
But great video keep up the good work.
Great video. It would be awesome if you could do a cost run down for the full set up.
Kevin W thanks. I could do that. Look out for future vid.
Awesome I subbed so I won't miss it.
Awesome thank you. Thanks for the sub and suggestion, i welcome it greatly

I wish you would have showed how to set the overall length.. Great review.

I use a small base die on all range brass. Then after I shoot it from my ar15 I full length size it... not sure which is best but it works
I started reloading so I could shoot more now i shoot more so I can reload more
What about checking head space???
question why don't you clean out the primer pockets ?
These were only 1 time fired. Anymore than that I do now. Thx
Universal decapping die does not resize , you mean full length die.
Yep 2 separate dies smart reloaders use the uni to save on their full L size die.
Should check them in a cage cage
Those are .224 bullets?
what do you do when you come upon a military 5.56 round with the crimp in it.
I chuck them. I dont collect a lot military brass at my range

You said you're buddies shoot ar are you guys allowed have ar15 now...? I'm confused
you need to show how to set that caes trimmer up
I now have the franklin arsenal case trimmer
Hullo Colleague,
please, is the crimping required also for bolt action ammo?
Many thanks for sharing your precious experience.
I lot of people say no its not. I crimp mine just because. I know a lot of precision shooters do not crimp.thanks
Sir, therefore what's the purpose of crimping?
Well tha is amillion dollar question but to shorten it up its to remove the flare left by the belling operation
Thank you :)
When u resize the neck should be retention and hold the bullet works with my 3030 and 357
so you reload your 223 Rem & 556 brass all the same for your AR15?????
***** no these are all .223.
+cigarbufff do you only reload 223 Rem brass that's what I do but i want to reload 556 lake city brass 2
Plumpy E it would be the same . Just have to take out the military crimp....
I thought there was a difference in wall thickness of the casing also? 5.56 more pressure than .223?
@@stephenjdoemer yes more pressure in the 556 casing but I know guys that reload them both the same and not had any problems but I never have I only reload 223 brass

what would be the point of not sharing recipes? what so bad about me copying your recipe?

+cigarbufff Ahh I understand now thanks for the clarification
Yea that's all. It's not like "Oh this is my secret and no one can have it" lol
Ahh, so that's why Winchester called my house and asked me what gun I'm gonna use it in when I bought the ammo at Walmart lol
wowowowoww what press it that im looking for one
