Great to see you bring back some life in the old boy. I hope we get to see the changes you’ll be doing to get it to perform they way you want.

    1. Motor tower is wobbling a lot, I'm guessing it's flexing at the base at the lags where it may split the wood as that's the weakest link, maybe a wider base to spread the lags & lower the load on the outside lags (middle lags under the post carry almost no load from the wobble, most load goes to the outside lags due to the torque of the tower). 2. IIWMI'D add an unloader lever to lift the hammer so you don't need to shove work into a chattering hammer/anvil opening. 3. I love the smell of burning leather in the morning.

Great job Chris! Yea, that bottom die is way too high. Die saddles and combo dies would cover 90% of what you would need. Looking forward to you tuning it and using it for some projects!

Amazing brother. Can't wait to see what's next with this power hammer. As well I'm surprised to see that you don't have a Milwaukee M12 or M18 grease gun. I just mean with the amount of equipment you have it would be useful! Anyhow take care Chris. Until next time! Later

Hi, I would worry that the welds were coming loose, perhaps you can make sure that the welds and hold downs are checked before the hammer is used each time as a safety idea.

not sure if there is a stroke length adjustment in the rod coming off the wheel from the top. the part that actually is raising and lowering the entire ram body. but where does that put the top die? will it come into contact with anything if you can get it to raise higher?

Any plans to mount it to the concrete? That thing moved a lot, even when on the ground. I'm wondering if any movement at all would act like a bunch of hammer strikes and end up cracking the concrete. I have no experience with these, just wondering. Are you going to leave the plug like that? I'd think a motor contactor and circuit breaker is called for here.

At least it was easy to move the tower over a little!

I am disappointed you didnt make a power hammer yourself but i do understand if you dont need a custome function like I did and have the money its just better to buy one.
